I have been to this place a few times to buy some wine and liquor. This place rates average as far as overall quality. I recommend that customers park on the street instead of their parking lot. Their lot is small, and I always get nervous driving in there. The street parking will likely mean some extra walking, but it is worth the trouble. Street parking gives me some piece of mind. The parking lot issue is not the business’s fault. Considering the large space they have inside, they could take advantage of it a lot more by selling a lot more types of beer, wine, and liquor. They have a lot of empty space that can be used to stock their goods for the customers. I am disappointed that they have not caught on to this yet. Granted, they have a lot of good quality wines and liquors that pertain to my interest. However, I think they can do a lot more. I love that every now and again, when I have come in here, there has been a wine tasting section. I have caught on to interest in particular wines by sampling one of theirs that they are offering at the moment. Once, I proceeded to buy the bottle that sampled, and I loved it even more when I got home(it was a German red wine). The employees do well at keeping their stock and the place clean and organized. I have not had any problems finding what I am looking for. I have never needed any assistance from the employees to help finding anything. Therefore, for the most part, I feel comfortable walking in there. The customer service portion needs some work. Some employees are friendly; some are not. The older biker woman who works nights is the best. She is always open to a good laugh and always willing to strike up a conversation when there is not a long line. I never got her name. The rest of them are just hi, take my money, and send me out the door. I feel like they do not truly want to be there. They have not been terribly rude, but I can sense their presumed dissatisfaction in their tone of voice. When I am in the area and need some wine and liquor, I will likely choose the nearby Hi Lake Liquor over this one. I hope that ownership reads this review and consider the issue I mentioned about the stock and the customer service. Doing so would make me rate this place better.

It’s a liquor store, and nothing more or less. Not great service, not a particularly great selection, but they sell booze, and isn’t that what really counts? If I am just looking for some cold beer or a simple bottle of wine, this is where I go because it’s close to my house. The fact that it’s across from the police station could be a good thing or a bad thing.

Ya know, I’m becoming weary of all these experiences I’m having with buying alcohol in Minneapolis. Minnehaha Lake Wine & Spirits has a very limited selection of wines, but I suppose that makes picking one easy. When we stood at the cashier to pay, the clerk asked for both of our IDs. I said my wallet was in the car — I was dumbfounded: how many IDs does it take to buy a bottle of wine? — and the cashier told me to step outside because she couldn’t sell me the wine. I just moved to the Twin Cities two weeks ago, and it’d be nice if store clerks gave people the benefit of the doubt, or were at least polite about explaining to the laws to everybody, whether they were newcomers or not. There must be better stores to buy wine. Please message me if you can recommend one.

Since I was in the neighborhood, I stopped in to check out their selection of Port wines. I was greeted when I walked in, asked if I required assistance, and was promptly walked over to the area where they had some. While they did not have much of a Port selection, they did offer several special holiday buys — a bottle of liquor with some special glasses, or such thing, in a nice box. Prices on these special holiday buys seemed a great bargain. If I were in the market to buy gifts of booze for others this holiday season, I likely would have picked up a few«sets». Their merchandise layout seemed thoughtful and it did not feel too crowded.

This is one of my two neighborhood liquor stores. I usually go here because the parking is easier. They have a good selection and their prices are about the same as you find everywhere else. You’ll find all your basics, and a pretty decent wine selection. It’s always an adventure here. Today I think everyone in the store but me was already drunk. It keeps it interesting.
