Pillar in Minneapolis. It is crowded for a reason.

Pizza is spectacular. The Buffalo Chicken pizza had a perfect blend of spice and flavor. We also had the Maximus which was very tasty and loaded with toppings Will go back again next time we are in town

I LOVE their vegan pizzas usually, I am a very regular customer and my boyfriend literally eats their pizza 2+ times per week. Tonight we went to eat there for Valentine’s dinner, I thought the pizza was ok not that great(we built our own instead of getting one off the menu, just for a change). When I got home I realized that some of the toppings we requested weren’t on the pizza! We checked the leftover pieces we had brought home and there was no arugula or vegan bacon! :(

Pretty good pizza. Went with a build your own, and it was quite good, although I wouldn’t go with the roasted garlic a second time around. The sauce and crust were above average, and a great topping selection.(A pox on all pizza houses that don’t offer pepperoni’s less greasy cousin, salami). Service was good, and the place was comfortable and had a good vibe. Would go again.

I love you, Pizza Luce, and I will forever base my living arrangements on your delivery area. I order delivery from here ALLTHETIME. Why? Because it’s free. I don’t always order pizza. My other go-to items are the Lucky Luciano pasta salad, lasagna(which is HUGE), and the Turkey Pesto Hoagie. Oh, and they have Izzy’s Ice Cream and a bunch of other delicious desserts. The entire area(Hennepin Ave/Warehouse District) is a s**t-show late at night, so I’m not surprised that people who dine-in have poor-to-average reviews. Even in the day time this area isn’t glamorous, so get delivery if you can.

The best pizza I’ve eaten probably ever. Good service and didn’t feel that the price was that bad. We ordered 3 medium pizzas for 6 guys and all got enough to eat. The pizzas were utrageously good, with clever choices in toppings and obviously very high quality ingredients. Rather good beer list also, but curiously found no prices for the beers anywhere. Supposed they were around 7 dollars or so, but who knows. Visiting Minneapolis for a week and I’ll make sure to stop at Luce a couple of times more before leaving.

Why do university to be frisked to be letting into a place to buy pizza, two guys asked me for money just to walk in. I’m from New York the largest city in the us and it this crap does happen there. Who honestly thinks a guy grabbing my ass to buy a slice of pizza is okay. The pizza isn’t even that good, it’s average at best. Learn some customer service…

Pizza Luce has some of the best pizza in the Twin Cities. It’s well prepared and each type of pizza is very unique to Pizza Luce. The Ruby Ray is my favorite and it has the sauce on top. If you’re looking for an appetizer I would suggest the garlic toast which has 8 pieces. I promise Pizza Luce does not disappoint. The only downside of Pizza Luce is that it is difficult to find parking which is typical downtown.

Wow they have both vegan & gluten-free pizza? Pretty nifty since not all places can handle this. I was excited to see all the items that could be made vegan since they even have two different kinds of vegan cheese. My friends & I shared an appetizer & got different pizzas & they were all mighty tasty. So much variety so be prepared to not know what you want, so many choices so you can get something different each time you go. Service was also pretty damn good/friendly, I dig it.

5 stars for the great food. Everything I’ve had here has been amazing. Recently, switched to a vegetarian diet and just started noting the numerous vegetarian options(which I had previously ignored). I thought the meat options were tasty but their vegetarian ones are pretty great as well.

Been to this location a few times. Food is personal… for me, the crust is too thick and there is no option to get a thinner crust. The meat ingredients are quite heavy. The sauce on the pizza is average. It’s good but not great compared to all the other pizza options in the twin cities. We also tried the buffalo wings. They were rather coagulated and just not appealing. On a bright note — this location is fun for people watching. You get to see all spectrums of humanity eat this location.

Came here after the club closes at 2am. $ 5 cover gave us a $ 5 coupon/person(which is kind of weird… minimum $ 5 spending?). We’re just visiting so we were shocked with police cars and road blocks outside of the place… however the pizza is really good! Opens until 3:30 am!

Let me start by saying that I’ve experienced Pizza Luce half a dozen times before writing this review. I didn’t want to write a «knee jerk reaction» to one bad experience. Here’s what they say at the top of the website: «Although we’re known for our innovative and award winning pizzas, we also serve a wide variety of hoagies, salads, appetizers and desserts.» Yes, the pizzas are innovative, but not entirely unique, and they are woefully overpriced. Mesa Pizza offers many of the same kind of topping combinations at a much lower price. So I’d give the pizzas 3 stars. But then there’s the rest. I’ve had several different items that they tout. The barbecue chicken wings were baked in the oven but not at all crispy. Slimy wings drenched in sauce. What’s the point of baking them and then serving them like that? Large garden salad was a large portion of mixed greens with a teaspoon of shredded carrots, 4 cherry tomatoes, 2 cucumber slices cut into pieces, and topped off with packaged croutons. Not worth the price. Cheese bread was good but overpriced. What a markup! Hoagies. My office ordered in an assortment of hoagies. While some were better than others, we all agreed that there was too much bread and not enough filling. Meatballs. They’re not listed on the menu as an appetizer or a side, but they do serve them with spaghetti. So when I asked if I could get a side order of meatballs they said yes. This was a takeout order and when I opened the package I was surprised to see that they had covered the meatballs with cheese. They didn’t tell me they would put cheese on them and not everybody loves cheese on everything. I’m not sure why Pizza Luce gets rave reviews. My guess is that those diners haven’t gone to other places that do the same thing, only better.

I ate here twice on my visit to Minneapolis. I particularly liked their hoagies — SO good! For the first meal, they were able to delivery quickly, RIGHT to my downtown hotel room door. They really saved the day with that. The second meal I had was after a Twins game and it seemed like a great time to go there, as they are open late.

The only reason I’m giving this place three stars instead of four is because of the price. I ordered a medium bbq chicken pizza, a large veggie pizza and a small cheese bread with three sides of ranch and it was $ 50 with a $ 5 tip included. I thought this was A LOT of money for that small amount of pizza. The cheese bread had eight small slices. The other star was knocked off because the cheese bread was hard and dry and not very tasty. The BBQ chicken pizza was fantastic though! I would definitely recommend that :)

Really delicious food. I love the food — and delivery service is great. However, it is an extremely dangerous place late at night, especially after bar close. Pizza Luce’s security staff is pretty sketchy, too.

I love this pizza place! My cousin introduced me to Pizza Luce after a Twins game a few years ago. I came back again last night. I judge a pizza by their sauce and dough and both are very tasty at Pizza Luce. The crust is not too doughy or floury. The sauce is actually tangy and not too sweet. We got the tomato, spinach, feta slice and the buffalo chicken slice. My roommate liked it so much we ordered again at the end of the night! Just a regular pepperoni but it was good! Service was good. You are greeted by a host with the option of quick/to go service on one side or bar service on the other.

Weekend brunch is superb. I was floored by the menu and the food when trying PL’s weekend brunch for the first time. There were at least six items on the menu which I would happily order. Also many choices for vegetarians and vegans. A very talented chef obviously created these unique mouth-watering dishes. I ordered the wild mushroom Benedict but substituted hollandaise for blue cheese sauce.(I’m not a blue cheese fan.) Presentation was beautiful and it tasted amazing. Kudos to the chef for going light on the sauce; too many places unnecessarily smother the Benedict with sauce. This Benedict was perfect. My son had one of the breakfast burritos and loved it. He ate it so fast that I didn’t get a taste.(It did look great.) Service was excellent from start to finish. Food came extremely fast. It didn’t bother us for our casual breakfast but I should mention that the décor and ambiance is still a pizza place. The two of us sat at a high-top table which was big enough for 8 and the nearby TV was showing worlds-funniest-videos or something. Definitely not upscale surroundings. Pizza Luce is now near the top for weekend brunch destinations. I was very surprised that a pizza place could do such an amazing job with brunch.

Pizza Lucé offers a mediocre slice of pie with a side order of incredible people watching. I stumbled into Pizza Lucé after bar close, much like you will. The Pizza itself is a picture perfect representation of an undistinguished pie. Nothing stands out. The crust, the sauce and even the cheese was boring. Sure, there are slight notes of basil poking out here and there, but other than that this is eating for the sake of sustenance if not to soak up a nights worth of swill. All of that being said, I would return again for entertainment alone. Because it is one of very few places in the area open after 2:30am you get to see just about every walk of life in its full drunken glory. Pimps noshing next to Policemen. Hoes next to Bros. Thugs and strippers with fake jugs. Businessmen in wrinkled suits, sports fans still buzzing from the stadium’s yellow & fizzy mass produced beer and club goers acting douchey… It is all yours for the taking. I suggest you stop by Pizza Lucé but only after bar close.

I was staying in downtown Minneapolis at the Marquette hotel and was craving some late night grub. I’ve been loyal to Punch pizza, but I had no choice this night as my favorite pizza joint in the Cities was closed. I was hungry for hardy food, but every place in close proximity was closed and I was not about to freeze my bottom off in the blistering cold. Thank goodness Pizza Lucé delivers until 3:30am on Saturdays. Suffice it to say Pizza Lucé definitely hit the spot. Delivery was fast and we devoured the entire pizza in record time. The crust was just the way I like it – crisp, airy, and chewy. The flavors on the pizza – crust, sauce, toppings were all around fantastic. Tested out their brunch this morning. The salmon benedict and the brunch burrito were just A-OK. Honestly, couldn’t even tell I was eating chorizo. Service was fine. Cool, casual brick interior, and lively atmosphere. Bottom line: Come here for the awesome PIZZA. And… It wouldn’t be my first choice for brunch in downtown Minneapolis.

I think I could write my longest review ever for this place, but I’ll try to sum it up quickly. I don’t think Pizza Luce can do wrong. From brunch to late night vittles, this place delivers. I really wish I could comment on their other food, such as pastas, salads and sandwiches, but I always gravitate towards the pizza. Your pizza can be loaded with meat, or made vegetarian, vegan or gluten free! I recommend going with their already created specialty pizzas, such as the baked potato, Ruby Rae or the Wrangler. I know I couldn’t even created these pizzas at other joints if I tried. They are one of a kind! If I worked downtown, I would head here for a slice of pizza at lunch. There is also a full bar if you are thirsty.

While in town, our San Francisco team put on a party for both California and Minneapolis offices as a great team building event. For this event, we decided to have it at Pizza Luce. It seems like every time we roll into town. Pizza Luce is right fit for us. When I first walked in, I immediately thought of a pretty seasoned restaurant. Some place that’s been around for quite sometime. The wooden floors creek when you walk on it, there’s exposed brick and wooden accents everywhere. The lights above the table tops resemble stained glass windows. We were taken back to the 2nd Avenue Room, nicknamed the«The Party Room.» It was a nice space for a party, equipped with it’s own bar. White light ropes drape from the center posts to the outer part of the room. The bartender stationed in the bar was nice and fast. He was our server and our bartender. For this meal, ordered a bunch of food and had a buffet style dinner. Here’s what I decided to get: –BBQ Wings — It was nicely flavored. The tanginess of the BBQ sauce went well with the ranch dressing pairing. –Peking Wings — There was a light spiciness to it, not to overpowering. The peanut dipping sauce pairing helped to cut the spiciness. –Artichoke Dip — Artichoke hearts, roasted garlic, parmesan and cream cheese. served with loaves of focaccia. The dip was runny but had a nice creamy flavor to it. Not too much cheese on the top but you could still taste the parmesan. –The Bear pizza — Italian sausage, pepperoni, marinated chicken, ground beef and Canadian bacon with mozzarella. This was definitely the meat lover’s delight. The pie was packed with protein, yet it didn’t come across as too oily. I loved it! –The Classic pizza — Italian sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, black olives and mozzarella. I loved this pizza as well. Definitely not your average supreme. So flavorful and packed full of textures from each component. Highly recommend! This was a good pizza party! The beers were nice and the food was good. I’m definitely keeping this place on my radar for future visits to Minneapolis. If and when you find yourself in the area, come check them out!
