I’ll skip the preamble and just say that their pizza was just average. And I didn’t like the fact that, after taking it out of the warming oven, it was crispy. Pizza should never be crispy, in this pizzaficianado’s opinion. If I want late night pizza in all kinds of tasty varieties, I think I’ll stick with Mesa in either Uptown or Dinkytown.

I have«ended up» at Sal’s several times because it is convenient to grab a slice. The neighborhood is not the greatest at night. Sal’s kind of reminds me of being on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, Ocean City, or Wildwood New Jersey as all the pizza is out on display. Positives — The crust is the best part of the pizza, the price is not bad, and the menu is fair, however, too many negatives outweigh the positives. Negatives — The place is a dive and if you look hard enough you can tell that sanitation is not a top priority. Look at the bathroom, around the trash can, and the floor behind the counter. The décor is a TOTAL dive as it looks like they ran out of money once the pizza ovens arrived. I get concerned when I see a HUGE pile of what appears to be Stromboli’s sitting out on the counter. Exactly how long have they sat there? Do they toss them out after the close of business or are they old enough to vote? I think another post below said it well when they stated that it reminded them of Mesa Pizza. At least Mesa is cleaner, the food quality is better, and I don’t worry about food sanitation issues with Mesa.

I have been here a few times during their late-night hour for their pizza. This is a great place to go for a quick slice of pizza. I find the location for late-night hour convenient, considering this is the time that people are getting out of the bars(there are several nearby bars). The pizza there is delicious! At first, I was nervous about seeing the pizza in open air like they do. However, they heat it up in their oven and serve it when I get to the cashier. This assembly took away any anxiety I had when coming in here. My favorite is the pepperoni, sausage, and cheese pizza. The size portions are reasonable for what I pay. The employees do a great job at moving the lines quickly. Sometimes, the lines can go all the way to the entrance door. Nonetheless, I still leave the place with a pizza in a reasonable amount of time. I always take my pizza to-go. I had to knock off a star because sometimes, the lobby can get cluttered. I would suggest the employees keep a better eye on the lobby. I understand that it gets busy at this time of day, and I think hiring one more person can fix that problem. To their advantage, they do a fantastic job at keeping their kitchen and serving areas clean and organized. As long as this place continues to serve delicious pizza like they do, I will continue coming here for their late-night quick slice. I feel like I can count on them to serve a quick snack and good quality one.

Really? People of Minny understand good pizza. Their selection alone warrant a deeper dive. Let’s see, let me look around– biker check!, baseball fans check! Rioters check! And random white guy? Um yeah def check. Welcome to the melting pot of Minny. Bring it on. Bring it here. Yeah like that.

Solid for what it is. I have been here numerous times after one of the downtown bars. It’s usually loud and kind of obnoxious and there are always police security there. Pizza is actually pretty decent, it’s like Mesa where you pick your flavor and order a slice and they warm it in the oven real quick. They do have a variety of flavors and they are all decent. The place itself is dirty though and the bathrooms smell like weed.

One of the few options for a quick slice of pizza after bar close in DT Minneapolis. Recommend the macaroni and cheese pizza! Usually a little chaotic after bar close but satisfies the drunk munchies.
