This was a pre game warm up spot before heading out to the main event. Let me say it was a great pre game warm up spot for drinks. It’s kind of dimly lit once you walk in and seemed not too crowded but a decent crowd. Great for people watching actually lol. The waitress had a big party and seemed to be overwhelmed so we waited about 10 mins to be waited on. Well we ordered the WONDEROUSPUNCH and a Lemon Drop. The WONDEROUSPUNCH was made with gold and light rum, 151, Myers, Grenadine and Juice Mix. This one drink will have you ready to go all night. It’s somewhat sweet but potent!!! I didn’t feel it till I got up out of my seat and they have a heavy handed pour on the alcohol if you know what I mean. The lemon drop was good as well with a heavy handed pour of the vodka as well. The wings were decent. Not to greasy but good enough to put something on your stomach while you drink. Would definitely come here again. I only docked them because of the service but the heavy handed drinks made up for it just a tad bit.

Decided to get a Unilocal just to rate this place. Great dark atmosphere, strong drinks, interesting people– all the things that make a great dive experience. People are just having an authentically good freaking time at this place and that only adds to your own enjoyment. Wondrous Punch is wondrous. The whole Polynesian drink menu is pretty great and deserves a thorough look before you decide to just default to the Wondrous Punch. Staff was super nice and extremely patient, which can go either way in a dive. Food is not so great. It’s not insanely bad, but the only reason I would order an entrée here is so that I could keep throwing back the Wondrous Punches. Like one reviewer said, go with a bunch of people and order some strong Polynesian drinks and you’re guaranteed a good time!(but, seriously, eat some food if ya be drinkin drinkin drinkin).

The Wonderous Punch here is definitely my new favorite drink! A big shout out to our waitress Lila for helping me get thru my first ever Wonderous Punch and making sure I was drinking water and eating. She definitely goes above and beyond for her customers and is very friendly and sweet. Love this place and the food and definitely will be returning again!

Decided to check this place out after my friend came here and ended up puking in his pants at the end of the night. Ordered the wondrous punch and I ended up getting a nosebleed after only 1 sip of the drink. Definitely would recommend making this the first stop of your night if you are trying to get blackout. Two drinks in and you won’t be remembering that you went to the Red Dragon or even left your place. Anyways if you go with a big group of friends and all order wondrous punch or any of their drinks, you are going to have a great time.

The chicken wings are great, and the punch is … wondrous. I really love the Red Dragon — it has a lot of character and is a fun place. Be careful though, their drinks are really strong!

Haven’t been there for food yet, but the drink specials are the best in town. Great place to pregame. Interesting people if you end up spending the evening there.

I’ve been here a handful of times and always got the wonderous punches. That drink is killer! It’s a great place to come at night with a big group of friends. This time around I came with my bf to have a late Saturday lunch. You could tell all the regulars were in. There is something special about coming to a place where everyone knows each other. I had beef & broccoli with cream cheese wontons and it was amazing. I look forward to trying other things here!

You only go here for one major reason: Wondrous Punch. or if you are just straight up gangster and your drinking game is insane… try the Zombie(Wondrous punch minus all non-alcoholic liquids). Three letters. NPR: No not national public radio, but No Pregame Required. I can hold my liquor believe it or not, I do not suffer from the«asian blush» that so many have condemned my race to… but that Wondrous Punch… hooo… I drank that nice and slow from all the horror/terrific/glory stories I’ve heard and good thing I did. If you’ve got a friend that hangs his or her self esteem on the twiggy branch that is volume of alcohol intake… then take them here. hit them up with that punch and see how they feel. I am one of the few that remember the experience of that punch and again like I said… I did that thing SLOW. Judge me what you will but better I be judged for that than what happens AFTER a black out.

This place reminds me of what Uptown use to be more like. It is a total dive bar. Not the type of dive bar I would typically hang out at, but people seem to be having a good time at the bar. Unfriendly staff and food is pretty typical chinese food. There are much better options in The Twin Cities.

My friends and I had been curious about Red Dragon for ages, and finally decided to give it a try last night. After reading numerous Unilocal reviews, we knew it was imperative that we try the infamous Wondrous Punch, so we did. With the knowledge that it contains five types of rum, one of them being 151, we opted to share the gigantic goblets between pairs. This proved to be an incredibly wise decision, because after just half of a glass I was completely set for the night. My friend basically summed up the atmosphere inside Red Dragon with the observation, «Everyone in here is shouting.» it’s lively, it’s raucous, and everyone is hammered. Fantastic. Also, just for good measure, their drink menu is typed in Comic Sans.

A dive amongst dives. And can get a little ghetto in the bar(but HIGHLY entertaining). Yes, there is the wondrous punch. Do not take this drink lightly. It will punish you! If you’re a light weight split it with a friend! I made the mistake of drinking two and had to call a cab

Whether Red Dragon is your first stop, last stop, or only stop of the night, this is a must hit venue for a great evening out. A good friend brought me for my first time a little less than a year ago and it definitely lived up to the hype. GETTHEPUNCH. The Wondrous Punch is both a delicious and dangerous concoction of alcohol, and I’ve never left without getting to a good place in a very short amount of time. My recommendation for food is the Mini Tray for Two appetizer platter. I don’t think the patrons come for the food but it is a necessity when you are sipping on the punch. Even if RD doesn’t seem like your kind of hang you need to try it to say you’ve been, and have the punch. The slightly sketchy ambiance, eclectic mix of regulars and tourists and the drinks offer the perfect divey bar experience.

Oh, man. This place. I’ve never in my life been patted down during an ID check, but after it happened, my friend told me that given the reputation of this place he’s not surprised. I mean, I guess he’s right, given the«No Refunds. Play at Your Own Risk.» sign posted on the jukebox, and the requirement to hold on to an ID card or credit card for orders placed on a tab… specifically because there have been many incidents of people walking out without paying. That aside, this place isn’t bad. Nice staff, warm atmosphere, rowdy crowds — what more could you ask for on a wintry Friday night?

What the F*%K happened? I have no recollection. Try to know better. Never had any food here. Been here just once. Several years ago. Only drank. Wonderous Punch. It does not kid around. Foggy memories, at best. Special occasion for someone, I think. Minus one star for… I can’t remember, but I can’t wait to go back(on a Saturday with a sober cab and paramedics just in case I need my stomach pumped).

Red Dragon is a «wonderous» place. It is in a great location on Lyndale and makes for an eventful night out in Minneapolis away from the downtown glitz and glamour. If you like people watching, you must visit Red Dragon. This is THE place for such an activity. I’ve heard the food is great but I think it is Red Dragon’s drinks that make people happy. The experience of drinking a crazy concoction of high alcohol content drinks in a massive glass makes for a great story the next morning. The hangovers are legendary, although I have not experienced one myself but have had the privilege of watching a couple of my friends experience stomach-churning hangovers at close quarters. Definitely deserves a visit for the drinks, eclectic crowd and the hangover.

If you want to time travel aka get blitzed out of your mind, then come to Red Dragon. This place certainly lives up to its reputation for having the strongest drinks in the Twin Cities. Red Dragon’s trademark drink is the Wondrous Punch, which is comprised of five different kinds of rums, which could easily get someone as big as Shaq wasted. Sip it slowly, please. If that’s too strong, the Red Dragon is a little less harsh on burning your esophagus. Certainly don’t get here for the Chinese food. But if you had a Wondrous Punch or too and need to sober up, you can stay somewhat safe with the appetizers. I’d personally try to avoid eating period though. haha. Seriously. This place is such a dive bar that I had two friends battle it out on the carpet in the back. It went on for half an hour before they both stopped. If only I could upload the video on Unilocal.ha! I would recommend going here for consoling your friend after a bad breaking up with a significant other or getting your car stolen. I go every year for my birthday, and I don’t know exactly why. Red Dragon is magical, yet terrible at the same time.

I have been here four times – all ending in horrific fashion. The first was simple; I had to buy new bed sheets. The second, due a buddy’s slightly-shy-of-gentlemanly behavior, we were ‘kindly’ escorted out. The third, I will not mention here. And the fourth, I have no idea what transpired as I am incapable of recalling it. It is important to note, whether you are rating the success of a public education plan, legislative agendas, or engine torque(which in and of itself means nothing unless paired to the weight of the vehicle its meant to pull), reviewing anything must be made according to applicable metrics. You don’t come to the Dragon for class, for innovative aromas, or charming dishes. No one is claiming, expecting, or should be anticipating good food, drinks, or service(which isn’t bad). The fried rice is more fried than rice; the mixed drinks are more poison than pop; and the environment – particularly post 10PM – has one unified agenda: You come here to get drunk with some wicked drank. For nomination in the dive-to suckle-from-the-Wonderous-Punch, 4 stars(only a couple times a year though – whoever drinks here regularly has problems).

We came for the Wonderous Punch, and we got the Wonderous Punch. It was potent, and exactly what we expected. Other than that though, I would not come again for any food on the menu or any of the drinks on the menu. The Wonderous Punch isn’t bad tasting and yes, it will get you drunk especially if you have more than one or haven’t really eaten much. At the same time though, I think it is a novelty experience, not something that I would go back for again and again. In my opinion, it is a Minneapolis Staple only because it is just so ridiculous and it is quite inexpensive, considering one for most people and you are good to go. In my opinion, it is something you go to once in a while(like once every 6 months) and then just call it a day.

Drink. Drank. DRUNK! The drinks here at the Red Dragon ARENOJOKE. Once my friend and I* each had one drink one night and had to stumble over to Rudolph’s to get some cornbread and water STAT so that we could eventually sober up. Another time I split a wanderer’s punch with another person and we aren’t quite sure exactly how we got home. Many a fun night spent at Red Dragon. Enter at your own risk. *Not light weights
