Alright first let me say this place looks kind of sketch from the outside. But inside it’s no worse(or better) than places in better locations. I got a manicure, it was $ 12, and I’m happy. And their nail colors were organized by color, which made my happy too. Picking out your polish is the hardest part!

I’ve been here several times because it’s cheap and it is walking distance from my house. I’ve found the service to be friendly(they remember me each time) and willing to bargain – the first time I went in they offered me a special $ 30 deal for the«spa» pedi, which is normally more, and every time I’ve done that I’ve been able to negotiate them down to that price. I do think the women do a better job than the guy(the ends of my nails were missing polish within 2 days of my pedi when I had him) and it’s a little hit or miss – but for a $ 23/pedi I’m willing to make concessions. I always take advantage of their $ 10 polish change appt to elongate the life of my pedi. They also randomly offer brow waxing… not sure if they are licensed for that though!!!

Not to be judged by its stilted Engrish name, Ten Perfect Nail(correctly pluralized on the sign outside) caters, soothes, and even impresses its visitors with an unparalleled attentive service. I called the salon at approximately 6:45 on a Saturday night, expecting to arrange an appointment for the following day. The man on the phone joyously requested I come in that evening, stating that someone would be happy to stay late and assist me. It turned out that they were fully functional, doors unlocked, with other customers, even after I left. I do not frequently indulge in pedicures, so I approached the experience with a little apprehension. Unable to recall the last time, I asked myself all kinds of questions. «Will it hurt?» «Will they be able to work with my particular podiatric issues and make something pretty still?» And, perhaps my biggest concern was«will I be able to communicate my needs?», as from my phone conversation I discovered that the people running the salon were not native English speakers in the least. The whole process was remarkably organic. I was greeted by a friendly middle-aged man, presumably the owner of the establishment and the man from the phone, who directed me to a chair, where a young woman was on-hand to begin the treatment. Her fingertips were gentle and soft at all the right times, firm and wielding at others. She trimmed and sloughed with delicacy, massaged with vigor –even popped my toe joints! She sapped every iota of stress from the knees down, with her fragrant exfoliation and ahhhh-inspiring warm towel wraps. But unfortunately the perfection couldn’t last. As she deftly worked her way through the French polish application, the owner came over, gave some instructions to her, and, with a kind waning smile to me, she stepped away to close the till while he filled in. You could expect the proprieter of his own establishment to have a certain knack for the services he’s peddling, but this didn’t turn out to be the case. He grip lacked the tenderness of a woman, his long fingernails piercing my feet in uncomfortable spots. He lacked the delicacy for the application work, and even had to do one toe over completely. The final polish work lacked consistency in thickness, and he aimed to correct and please me with full knowledge of this error by injecting a median line of silver on each of my toes — a pretty flair, if you’re a middle school-aged girl playing around at a slumber party. I would’ve loved to have given this place five stars, just because they did so well taking care of this first-timer… but, tragically, you gamble when you come here. My best advice is to schedule an appointment, in the middle of business hours. Perhaps if I had stuck to my guns and refused the gesture to have me come in right away, I would have a consistent look from a professional who took the time to bring my feet to prettiness, and not just shy of the salon’s claim to perfection.
