Waffle House

One does not go to a Waffle House for gourmet food with white table cloths, a wine list or appetizers. With that in mind, they should be rated on what they strive to do and whether they do it well.
The eggs are fresh and cooked well. The waffles are excellent. The coffee is fresh. They are open for long hours when others are closed. FEMA checks to see if they are open before they go into a disaster area (according to the Wall Street Journal).
Their hash browns are cooked according to your preference. I prefer them straight up or «in the ring.» They taste good and are served hot.
If they had a better toast to serve instead of the cheaper packaged stuff and real maple syrup instead of the cheap stuff that is automatically served, it would be better.
Late at night, some of the clientele can be off putting. Too much to drink, no manners or just loud and dirty. That is probably inevitable with a restaurant open late and inexpensive food.
Waffle is inexpensive, the food is good and they are always open. Think of it as serving comfort food for breakfast.

Let me start off by saying, the ONLY reason I’m even reviewing this place is because we had the BEST waitress for multiple late night trips to this Waffle House. The food is great, but our girl Cathy knows what’s up. She was so awesome and patient every time my friends and I came in being rowdy. I don’t think Cathy works there anymore, but it’s still a great waffle.

The place was dirty and had a roof leak. In the kitchen they had a big water spot full of water not picked up-​, it was gross

This is easily the best Waffle House we have ever been to, and between myself and the Fiancé, we have been to a LOT of WH’s. The staff consists of a lot of young kids learning the art of customer service, and a couple if really patient and kind managers teaching them life skills. The place was calm, clean and pleasant — a world of difference from the drama of WHs in GA. Our food came out just right, our coffee was refilled as needed and everyone was just so darn nice. We even saw a manager comp an entire meal for a couple because she (the manager) felt their food took too long to come out. When she informed the teenage waitress not to charge for that meal, the poor girl’s eyes widened as though she felt like she messed up. The manager let her know it wasn’t her fault, that it was her own, and the girl breathed a sigh if relief.
Kudos to the management for teaching these kids what true customer service means in a kind way — their attitudes transcend into a wonderful environment that I’m certain I will never experience at another Waffle House again.

What can I say, I love Waffle House, and this one is no exception. We were there around 9pm on a Saturday night. It wasn’t terribly busy, and the staff was energetic and friendly. The food was great, as usual. It’s perfect dive-​y diner food for a really good price. I recommend the All-​Star Special (breakfast) because you get the most for your money, but they have a lot of other options to choose from for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

This place rocks your socks. I try not to be too generous with my 5 stars but I do love this place. As we were driving into Destin from Mobile, AL. we kept passing signs for Waffle House. I am not particular to a diner but my gf is. She absolute refuses to eat a Golden Nuggets and others and Waffle House with its yellow lettering reminded me of a GN. I thought nothing of it until by necessity we were forced to loiter on the outskirts of Destin, FL at 4:30 AM. We figured as good a time as any for bfast and that quite fortunately led us to Waffle House.
This place rocks. We went back 3 times in 3 days! The service is very friendly and speedy. Open kitchen so you can see them griddle your order fresh. Just like any other diner for bfast but the food is cheap, quick and easy. Loved ordering piecemeal bfast with sides and egg biscuit sammys and biscuits and gravy etc… my bfast personal bfast heaven.
Normally you will not find bfast ranking this high ever from me but there is something about Waffle House that really rocked my world and I believe it will do you right as well.
