We stopped in on a slow winter weekday. It was too windy for an outside table. Go between 3:00 — 6:00 for happy hour food and drink specials. They serve basic bar food, so don’t expect more and you’ll be happy. We shared a chicken Santa Fe wrap and substituted onion rings for fries($ 1 upcharge). The staff are friendly. The best thing is a nice view of the beach.

Nothing to write home about… Easy in, easy out. The waitresses didn’t seemed to thrilled to be there… The food was OK. Won’t be back.

Stopped here during a weekend beach getaway. While the beach view and the birds flying about were definitely five star, the overall experience was not. The food menu was not impressive especially for an oceanside restaurant. It consisted mainly of fried foods and tacos. Don’t get me wrong it was tasty just nothing special. Fries came with those tacos too. The server was also just okay. She came went and that was it. Overall I probably won’t seek this place out to eat on my next trip but I am okay with eating here if I am really hungry and just happen to be nearby.

went friday night at 8pm to scout it for tomorrows breakfast. bartender upstairs could not understand-jack and water! 5 times and i nearly had to pour the water myself. went downstairs-are these patrons 50 yr old hippies living under the docks? asked worker what time he closed, he rudely responded“an hour ago”. its a beautiful setting but the service is the most unfriendly cold and hostile i think i have ever experienced. will NOT be coming here for breakfast now, we will find another location! if ur pissing drunk and obnoxious, this is the place for you!

The yellow fin tuna was great well seasoned the salad left a bit to be desired but the onion rings were awesome mr the chicken strips feel flat it’s still a four because it’s on the beach and it’s ok but this is a tourist trap so don’t expect jaw dropping food but do go for the experience just steer clear of the school food(ex. Chicken strip basket)

Love this place! We go there as often as possible. Today I had a small issue with my yellow fin tuna sandwich. They replaced my entire meal with a fresh one cooked perfectly. Super friendly amazing service. Strongly recommend you try it out. Awesome spot right on the ocean as well. Gotta go there!

I am rating this a «3» for the great view. I have been coming here for about 10 years and typically just want a spot on the«ledge» overlooking the beach and I have really enjoyed coming here over the years. However, service has noticeably gone downhill. This visit I am very disappointed in the service and the friendliness of the service staff. Despite only a moderate amount of customers, the wait staff was unwilling to serve me drinks. I had to walk in and get my own beers, at a moderately attended bar, and with other servers sitting around. Not happy with the direction of the bar, but the view is killer. Suggest the Surf Hut down the beach a ways. Better food(comparable prices for things like tacos and sandwiches) and great environment. I hope the whales tail can turn it around and start providing better service to loyal customers like me.

Mainly went here because I could walk to the location. Sunset was pretty. Bar/restaurant is on the beach. Food was ok. Given my parameters I was happy. They have a lot of eastern block workers that may not understand you. We had to wait to order and to be served. Probably better as a bar because of location.

I have been here at least three or four times with my family because we always stay at Seascape resort right behind it, so it is very convenient to us and the beach. In the times we have been here, we have never had service that was anything more than polite, never warm or helpful nor prompt. The drinks are terrible, bordering on tasteless. The food here is a 3. If the food was even a 7, we would have eaten there 50 times by now. I really love to see locally owned businesses succeed, but with an absentee owner(bartender told me he never even comes by), and employees that seem like they hate being here, I don’t know how they could do much better.

We went in after the lunch rush and sat on the patio on a bench with a great view of the Gulf and sunbathers. The staff were friendly and the Fish & Chips was nice. She kept that sweet tea flowing and how can that be anything but great?

My order to-go was sitting there and the waitresses didn’t even bother to tell me… Who knows how long it was sitting there… Super bad service. The waitresses all seemed to have an attitude… Won’t stop here again…

This place makes a killing selling trashy food at steep prices. Everything on their menu tastes like it came frozen from Applebee’s, and even their cocktails are just cartons of simple sugar spit out of a machine en masse. Anyone who says this place is decent had McDonald’s for lunch.

Only good thing is the view. Breakfast was pitiful. Terrible food and crazy prices. Coffee is terrible. You are better off bringing a picnic and sitting on the beach for the view. If there were a no star option, I would select zero stars.

Their crab omelette is delicious! My husband was unhappy with the orange juice. Its not fresh by any means. The food was otherwise decent. If you want an easy breakfast on the water and don’t want anything fancy, this is a great place to be.

It’s what you would expect for a sea side joint. Picnic benches on the deck over looking the water. Served on paper plates with plastic silverware and cups. The food was ok– I had the fish tacos which weren’t bad, the Santa Fe wrap which my husband didn’t like, our friend had the chicken sandwich which he referred to as rubber chicken. Drinks were cold and view was nice, we’d be back for that but not to eat. I gave it three stars instead of two because the waitress was nice and the view was gorgeous!

It’s a very chilly and windy day here in the Redneck Riviera so I needed somewhere to sit inside but enjoy the view. This place was perfect for it as it has amazing views. The food is standard beach bar grab and go food. I opted for the grilled fish tacos with corn tortillas. The fish was awesome and they grilled the tortillas up too. The table of little old ladies sitting by me all got the fried grouper sandwich and they all said it was great.

This is a great location to go for Happy Hour and watch the sunset. Don’t expect a culinary blast but the drinks are good, the ubiquitous Smoked Tuna Dip, and the $ 2 Rolling Rocks are more than you’d expect. The deals go away on Feb 28th according to the menu — when the season begins to kick in on the Panhandle. You have a direct view of the sunset, making this a good choice to relax and take in the slow walk-off of the sun with all it’s colors while enjoying a Mai Tai.

For what it is(a beach bar), this place is the real deal. Good stiff cocktails and very appropriate munchies to accompany. The calamari is rockin. My kids actually wanted to go to this place again just for more calamari. Also, the kids fish baskets were really big, and super tasty. I absolutely live the fact you can get cocktails to go to the beach. Don’t expect anything fancy… it’s not. The deck has a stunning view of the beach… quite possibly the best beach view in the Destin area. It’s worth sitting down and having a drink just to soak in the breathtaking sights and sounds. Beware the little birds, though. They are bold and hungry. They’re not mean… and they’re hilarious… but they’ll rob you blind. They seem to like French fries. If you see a one-legged bird, tell him I said hello.
