I love this place, I have been to it many times and I am never disappointed. The food is always great. Love their shrimp ceviche and tacu tacu. I have tried pretty much all the foods and its always great. Highly recommend it.

Great Peruvian food. The aji de gallina(chicken) is 1 of the best I have had. The pollo salteado was good also. I wish they would open early maybe on Sunday and serve Peruvian Breakfast. Overall great food. Good service. I would recommend to my friends and family.

Went with the family for my fathers 70th birthday. Has great service. Thank you Elizabeth. Wonderful menu, food is delicious and great atmosphere. Deserts were yummy. Portions were good size. Enough to take half to go. We will be back

First — the good. Nice, clean restaurant. Food was good and the food coming out of the kitchen looked good. The bad. Went for lunch and ordered from the lunch menu. Grilled chicken for $ 8.99. It was good. But, it was so small, I mean really, really small that I left hungry. I don’t ever complain about the price unless something is very wrong. The dish should have cost $ 2.00. I literally have never been served a piece of chicken this small. I left hungry. To be fair, they did give a large helping of fries. The chicken serving was an insult. But it was tasty. You will leave hungry.

I think this place has its good days and it’s bad. There are times when I come and the service is great and then there are days where I say I will not return ever again. There food is good, however there service is what makes me hesitant. Some staff could be more accommodating or nicer for the simple fact that not everyone in the area is Peruvian or of Hispanic descent. The place isn’t horrible, but some notes on hospitality isn’t absurd either.

I went there on Tuesday, December 29th. For the first time as I’m visiting Miramar for the holidays. It’s a Peruvian restaurant, but I ordered a whole fried red fish and it was delicious. Very happy with my choice. It’s not a very elegant restaurant, more of a cafeteria style, but very good. I heard that the beef diners are really good. Very happy with my order and excellent service.

Won’t be coming back. been here many times and I’ve been very happy and satisfied with the food and the customer service but today they were totally off I I ordered a lomo saltado and it was saturated with cumin. the chicha was watered down tasted more like a bad lemonade I brought it up to the waitress who seemed to be very confused and she couldn’t care less as I was getting out of the table a piece of gum that was stuck on the under the table got stuck on my pants all she had to say was Oh No…

I was told the new owners where horrible! And I didn’t listen. Baddddd customer service! New management needs some training in customer service ASAP! She believes just cause people from«Telemundo» order or go there for lunch, she believes her restaurant is «5 star». I ordered a ceviche and even though limes are so cheap right now they prefer to put acid or fake lime which makes the ceviche uneatable. So citric that is impossible to swallow. I spokes to the owner and she just laugh instead of saying«I’m sorry to hear that» she challenge me saying that she has the best chef. I told her 3 times I can’t eat this, she said oh so what do what me to do?! Very rude woman! I will never go back there and I will make sure friends and family do the same. HORRIBLEHORRIBLE

Their chicken is one of the best rotisseries I have ever had! And the sauces are also delish! Prices can’t be beat!

Great, authentic Peruvian food. Not expensive. A variety of Peruvian dishes to choose from. Great service as well. I’ve been to many Peruvian restaurants, including actual ones in Peru, and I have to say El Fogon captivates what Peruvian food is all about. I am writing this review after(approximately) my 20th visit to this restaurant. As a native Peruvian, I have to say this restaurant is one my favorite Peruvian restaurants; it is up there with La Mar, CVI. CHE105, and La Perla.

Food tastes really authentic Peruvian and it is good, I ordered this Peruvian seafood called«Parihuela» which is in a tomato broth and lightly spicy, and contained a lot of calamari pieces of fish, mussels, a few shrimps, a claw of stone crab and a scallop. It is priced right and comes in a large bowl –could be easily be shred by 2– Service is NOT great; the waitress forgets the water, no refilling cups, ordered food takes a little while Casual ambiance. Food is priced ok

I ordered the grilled chicken breat, rice and beans platanos maduros simple meal, right! my chicken was so salty and when I did see my waitress I asked for hot sauce to maybe counter the saltiness. I was told that they didn’t have any. I never saw the waitress again. I asked someone else to get me a box and waited again for 15 minutes for my check., so not only did I not eat I was held there against my will. I really didnt like the fact that they acted as if they didn’t speak or understand and just ignored that I was there. I f they don’t want anyone else than Hispanic people, they should let it be known. I don’t how they would do that legally but I won’t be back. I dont spend my money where I’m not wanted!

After finally convincing my family to try some Peruvian, we wound up here. I’ve had amazing Peruvian food at other restaurants and I wanted a nice meal for my family. Unfortunately El Fogon was not the right restaurant for this occasion. The mixed ceviche was not fresh and very chewy. We did not finish it. The Chaufa El Fogon tasted burned and there were a total of 3 shrimp and 2 mussels in a $ 20 dish. Premium prices for average food and poor service is not a recipe for a return visit from this family.

Worst restaurant in Miramar. Always slowest possible service, always getting the wrong orders and the poorest customer service possible. The new management couple are the worst ever. They have ZERO clue on how to manage a restaurant. Really deplorable. One more set of clients they lose

I ordered a tacu tacu with churrasco for delivery. What I got was the smallest and thinnest steak ever. The tacu tacu was soggy and it was a small portion again… don’t get me started with the price. I can’t believe it’s cheaper to get the same thing at cviche 105 which the food is always tasty and the place is nice. The new ownership is charging premium prices for a restaurant that looks like a fast food restaurant like La granja. I tool 3 menus to work and we threw it away after everyone saw what I got and how much I paid. I will post a picture of what I got.

Omg! The food is amazing! I order online the lomo saltado and the ceviche mixto and they were perfect and well proportioned. And for the price the quality is great. I will order again soon.

Yeah, don’t eat here. The service is ridiculous. The woman who answers the phone doesn’t understand anything. The order had to be repeated several times, as well as telling me the credit card wasn’t accepted because she couldn’t understand it… yet she still didn’t include the food in the ticket according to them. Then they want me to pay for their mistakes, after I called and she said ‘oh it was missing?’ Then wandering off the phone and I had to get her attention…‘um are you delivering it’…‘yes’.only to call me back to charge me? NO. first time and last time. No apologies can make up for the frustration of that worker. The prices don’t add up whatsoever. This is how I’m showing friends a taste of Peru. Good going.

I used to get food from here all the time because I loved their rice and beans and their chicken was pretty juicy and flavorful; comparable to La Granja, which I also like. After a recent trip, however, I noticed that things weren’t quite the same. I had heard(or read) that El Fogon was under new administration or new management or what not, but based on the Unilocal reviews, the change wasn’t for the better. I didn’t really think anything of it until I tried the food again… Rice was hard, chicken was burnt and dry, and portions were smaller. A disappointment indeed. HOWEVER, El Fogon’s saving grace is their delicious sauces; the creamy garlic sauce and green cilantro sauce can practically save any bad meal that they might dish out. Also, it’s right down the street for me and it’s still a pretty good bang for your buck. A combo meal with ¼ chicken, rice, beans, plantains, and a soda for only about $ 6. Here’s hoping there’s still hope!
