We were contemplating a trip to Philadelphia later in the year & had cheese steak on the brain and ultimately ended up here. Personally, I had no issues with the service. They were friendly enough and the turnaround time on the subs was pretty quick. The subs themselves were tasty enough. They use good bread here which is nice. I would rate the quality of the subs as above average. I ordered the steak bomb which is basically a Philly with bacon. I also added jalapenos for spiciness. Tried a few bites of the steak and pastrami and it was tasty as well. My one issue with this place is that their topping choices are somewhat limited. They had neither cherry pepper nor cheez wiz(which are must haves at a Philly spot imho). Definitely better than the chain places though.

First off, I ordered a foot long philly cheese steak sub, and there was more bread to meat ratio I mean I paid 11.00 for a footlong i’d expect sufficient meat. But besides the fact, They charged me for honey mustard? Really for a thimble of sauce get out of here! and 25 cents for a water cup. I’d rather go to Sub Center more meat on the sandwich. and another thing they’re employees need a attitude change !

First to the reviewer who said they were closed recently, if they were, they are open now. From one side of the building there is a fence in front, and it kinda looks closed. From the numerous reviews I have read about the rude staff and poor customer service this is what I was expecting. This was not the case at all! The staff was polite, fast and helpful. Maybe they changed staff? I IDK but anyway I ordered the Philly cheese-steak, carrot cake, and chips. I got all 3 for just over $ 10, not bad. The sub was $ 7, $ 2 for the cake, .60 for the chips. The Philly cheese sub was good, but not the best I have had. Perhaps I should have had it without the mayonnaise, lettuce, and tomatoes, I thought that may be weird, but the guy at the counter asked if I wanted it so I figured its normally ordered that way? Anyway the meat was OK, could have been more flavorful and there was not enough cheese in my opinion. The bread seamed fresh, but I am not sure its the authentic kind I was hoping for. I should try again having the sub with just cheese and onions, it may have been better that way. So 3 stars for sub, 5 stars for carrot cake, and actually 5 stars for customer service.

Ok, so I love this place and grew up going here but… I’ve been there 4 times(during business hours) in 2 weeks and they haven’t been open. Does anyone know if they will reopen or what is going on? Thanks

Bad service, tall skinny black guy with dreadlocks and no teeth, dirty finger nails works on the grill. He has the most depressing attitude, like we forced him to make the sub. Very unmotivated employee. His dreads was on the grill while grilling the meat, gross The old white lady cashier was so mean. I asked her a question she sucked her teeth and stared at me so hard like a laser. They are arrogant because they make popular subs, but really they have no flavor. I might as well season the subs my self.

I have been here a few times now and the food is always good. The only problem I have with this place is the miserable old lady behind the counter. She couldn’t be more unpleasant if she tried. She is the reason I won’t return

I must have eaten at a different place than the other reviewers. This place doesn’t even rate one star. Went here peak lunch hour and it was empty. I soon found out why. I ordered a cheesesteak and there was VERY little meat in the roll and even less cheese. Hard to comment on the taste of the sandwhich as there was nothing there to taste. Avoid this s. thole and go to Sonny’s Famous just a couple of miles away on the corner of Taft and 66th St.

Philly Steak Sub Shops 7−6−15&50x’s plus — 6025 Miramar parkway Parking lot narrow but ok, décor is hole in wall, usually TV on, lighting from sun lots of glass, about 12 cafeteria bench tables, bathroom around back need a key, kind of rundown, Want a good Philly Chicken, Or steak it’s here. Bread rolls good wheat or white, the staff yells out to you, & you yell back, what you want on sub kind of place. Breakfast is even good here. Decent selection of drinks, even real sugarcane Birch Beer on Tap free refills. Here is my issue, with this formerly years ago Substantial Sub, Hungry Bear, Miramar Philly Steak Shop –seem like every 3 months the subs prices go up && cheese is always extra charge. They pre measure out the meat earlier in day before serving & it seems to be losing a ½ oz in between each price increase — ½ a Philly sub w/cheese & medium drink now $ 10. Used to be $ 6 few years back. Used to be a more filling better value. Another item is that the person on the grill is always wanting to serve the steak quickly even when it’s slow– but why must you chop up the steak to the consistency of cooked cat food. Let it cook, please, without chopping into a thousand piece while, pretending to work as a slice & dice Benihana Chef. Still will go but less, if value ratio continues to slide. Rating 8.5

Oh man, delicious! We’ve been planning to eat here for the longest time and today we finally got a chance to! I had the chicken bomb(I rate a 3.8) and the bf had a original philly steak which we rate a 5! I grabbed a menu on the way out since it’s close to the house. Cannot wait to try chicken or steak with bacon! There’s such a collection you’ll go a little crazy!

This sub shop never steers me wrong. Best jerk chicken subs ever. Every thing is freshly made. I would recommend this place to anyone. It’s a hole in the wall but well worth the stop. Prices are reasonable. Don’t skimp on the meat portion.

Random craving for philly cheesesteak + Unilocal research led me to this place. I had just read about not being on your phone when you order, and there was a sign right in front of my face that said no phones. I was trying to check-in on my phone right when she asked me what I wanted. Luckily, no attitude and I was ready! The lady was nice anyway. Sandwich hit the spot. I only wish it had come with more cheese. It almost didn’t seem like a CHEESEsteak sandwich. Now I know for next time to order extra, but I wish the regular would come with the cheese oozing.

Stumbled on this place by accident and checked out the Unilocal reviews and thought I would give it a shot. The menu is huge… don’t be deceived by the name as there are more subs than the Philly cheesesteak to try to make up your mind about(a good problem to have)! I got the chicken and mushroom sub and it was excellent… the cheese(provolone), the seasoning and the chicken all worked… my compliments to the chef. They seemed to be a well oiled machine as to who does what but they can be a little too quick as they almost charged us twice not realizing we had already paid. The service was efficient and they were polite. For my first time there I didn’t notice the«order here» sign hanging in the corner and the«pay here» sign until after the fact but now I have got the hang of it I will be a pro. I also got a takeout menu so next time I will study the menu as there are so many options to try! I also can’t wait to go back and try the Chicken Bomb!

Genuine Philly cheese steak served up with a genuine Philly attitude. The minute you walk into this place you realize that you’re in their ‘house’, but don’t let that scare you off, the food is just too damn good. The first time you go you may be tempted to drive around the block a few times before pulling in because it is a little dumpy from the outside but don’t let it fool you. This is one of those rare finds where it’s 100% about serving up great food. While waiting for your sandwich you’ll catch yourself hopelessly fixated on the two fellows that actually cook, these guys are downright pros and watching them work is just too much fun. Everything I’ve ever ordered has been super good, but for first timers I suggest you get the simple Philly cheese steak with onions to really get a taste of how great the beef itself is. For returning customers I highly recommend my favorite the ‘steak bomb’, it’s ridiculous. So put on your big boy pants, puff out your chest and give ‘em your order! Trust me, you’ll be glad you did.

I have been wanting to try this place for a long time. Hubby warned me that they are pretty rude, and I noticed the reviews pointed that out as well. We were feeling adventurous yesterday after our fruitless shopping excursion, so we both felt bold enough to wander over to Philly Steak Sub Shop! We walked in and found a line to order. As we waited, I was watching the guy at the grill, and I could see he knew what he was doing. I admired his focus as he worked the meat and veggies. When it was time for the cheese on the meat, he surrounded the pile with a stream of water which created a nice steam that melted the cheese quickly. I ordered the mushroom steak and Hubby got the steak bomb. The flavor of the meat is fantastic. I only wish they had packed more into my 8in sub. They packed Hubby’s pretty well, but mine not so much. I think I will order the foot long next time because the meat is that good. As for the rude staff, I had no complaints about the crew yesterday. They were on top of their game, and while not really friendly, they were very good to the customers making sure everyone got their sandwiches made right. They asked questions, during each step of the sandwich process for each customer. I guess I lucked out!

«First impressions are not always right» This is that kind of a place, staff not so great but man they can make mean sub! I personally like the chicken cordon blue sub. The sub is a grilled chicken with melted cheese with onions and anything else you want to add. They also add some magic sauce that it’s delicious. Finally they put inside the bun, 6′ or 12′ long. And they add salt, pepper, oil, and vinegar(up to you) and they place a small plastic paper so they cheese and chicken do get stuck on the paper. AWESOMEIDEA. With chips and a soda delicious lunch. After you leave you will smell like food: I promise. BUTITSWORTHIT! Let me know!
