Tijuana Flats

Love Tijuana Flats, but will NEVER visit this location again. Counter help didn’t know what kind of wine they had and after getting the manager they ended up being out of red wine completely. I ordered a Corona Light and wasn’t offered a lime. Tacos barely had anything in them and were actually light feeling when I picked it up which prompted me to look and see that there was hardly any steak or any of the other ingredients. The table I sat at was all sticky from the previous persons sauces and as I was leaving I realized that the counter server didn’t give me the bottled water I ordered. Crappy experience at a usually consistently good chain!

I was really disappointed in one of the kids’ meal and my meal recently. I ordered «Chicken Fingers» off the kids menu. It came with 4 tiny pieces of chicken the size of quarters, and ¾ of the plate was filled with chips and an applesauce. I’d say it was worth about 99 cents but it’s $ 4.99
The steak was so sparse in the steak salad, they weren’t even bite size pieces. Will never order those again. I will return and order differently– love the tacos and quesadillas here!

I love Tijuana Flats. Their taco Tuesday deal is definitely worth it and it includes a drink! The managers are great with customer service but the rest of the staff are ok. Honestly that would be the only thing I would make a change too. Once in awhile they’ll come by your table asking if you need anything else. I guess that depends on how busy they are. Their cheese sauce is really good and so is their sauce bar. Seriously the sauce bar and the taco Tuesday deal is the reason I don’t go to lime or salsa fiesta.

The food is decent I usually come here a lot. Lack of meat in any item and today I thought I had a bone in my chimichanga but it was a broken toothpick. In addition the meat was salty and a bit burnt. The manager is nice offer a refund or next meal is free but I wonder what else goes into the food.

Good food for lunch or a Friday night. The staff is nice and helpful. The décor is cool, the artwork on the walls is unique. A very casual spot to go with friends. The service is fast. There are at least 20 different hot sauces with hilarious names to try out on your food. I recommend this spot.

Decent food but nothing special. deals on Tuesday’s for tacos and Thursday’s for burritos, includes chips and drinks for 5.99 total.
If you get chips you got to pay for the salsa and such. The side has spices only.

Wow! I live in Kendall, and we travel a long way all the time to eat here. We go at least once a month, sometimes twice, with a group of 10 usually. We always rave about the great food and awesome customer service to everyone we know. Actually, in my previous review, I gave this place five stars. But last night was horrendous! Tables were dirty, the soda tasted like dirty water. Our party of five, including a very hungry 33 week pregnant friend and a first-​time guest, placed our orders at 7:30 pm, and we got our orders at 9 pm. During that 1.5 hour wait absolutely no one came to check on us, give us an update or apologize for such pitiful service. Actually, even a group that came after us got their order first. When I brought this up to the attention of the girl with the long rockerish hair, she said «OK» flipped her hair and went back into the kitchen. Horrendous! A bunch of takeout orders were being sent out while the guests in house waited and waited. We even considered calling in the order. Then when my order finally came, it was wrong! I understand if you’re really busy, as they were last night, but all it takes is to be nice, provide a good service. Maybe «hey guys here’s some free queso while you wait over an hour for your food.» Or just a simple apology. «I’m sorry it’s taking so long guys, your food will be out at such time.» We got NOTHING. And when we asked, we got a terrible attitude. My love for Tijuana was crushed last night. I will not be returning here for a LONG time, if ever. Nothing grosses me out more than people who treat their customers like poop.

I try not to eat fast food but when I’m craving a taco away from home I come here. My gf turn me on to this place and they’re not to bad. I always get the hard shell beef tacos. I’m not a fan of the extremely thick burrito.

Had the steak nachos… where’s the beef? The chicken nachos were much better!!! Couple of things at this place-​wear a jacket! This place is a freezer!

I come here all the time and I loooove this place! The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. They always greet me when I walk in and talk to me with a lot of joy and enthusiasm. The food is great too. I usually get the dos tacos on Tuesdays because of the special. Any other day I get the quesadilla with blackened chicken and if I’m feeling crazy I get the chimichanga which is amazing and very big which is why I only get it sometimes because it makes me feel fat lol!

So I came here last night with my best friend. I had been here before with some friends but I didn’t get anything because I’m not a huge fan of Tex-​mex food. My best friend suggested this place because she said they had a really good chicken salad so i figured I’d give it a shot.
We ordered 2 of there blackened chicken salads with guac & chips. They came in these huge tortilla bowls with a lime vinaigrette. It was unexpectedly very good. The portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. I devoured the entire salad. I would deff recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite & a bang for your buck.

Love Taco Tuesday special here! The food is always fresh and very friendly staff. This is by far the best Tijuana Flats of all of them in the area.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Queso dip is a must! Good quality food, good service by the way! The host helped us with the menu from the second we walked in, considering we had the «first timers look» written all over our faces. All in all great Tex Mex spot for the location.

The food is tasty, but by no means will you feel the need to come back. They do have a friendly staff which is always a huge positive. I also find the prices to be a bit on the high side (relatively speaking of course); a meal for two can come out to $ 30 – 35.

Before a Unilocal event I decided, «hey, instead of being the first one at the event, why don’t you go eat first?»
I found this Tijuana Flats since it was right in the next plaza. My event was at 7pm and I pulled in before 6:10. The line was about eight people deep with two girls at the register. Ok, cool. Plenty of time.
«Why isn’t this line moving?»
«This is a bad idea.»
Ten minutes later (6:22pm) I order. All good. Not long before I get my food, right? Hmm. I have only orders take out from Tijuana Flats so I was not sure about their dine in business model. It seemed like a Mexican Panera Bread. Around 6:23 the food arrives. Yay, I can gorge this food and then leave.
There was a girl asking people if they wanted refills of their drinks. After I drank mine I waited for her to stop by. She didn’t. All good though. The register is right nearby. I can do it.
By this time I’ve eaten about 40 percent of my meal.
I walk to the register, get my drink and see someone busing my table. Remember when Ross’s boss on, «Friends» ate his sandwich? Yeah, well that was me. She apologized profusely thinking I was done, but then admitted she realized she goofed when she saw my cell phone. She began to take off the garbage she put on my food, almost to give me back my dirty meal, then said hold up I’ll get you a new.
A few minutes later a brand new meal arrived. No trash thrown on it. A complete meal I might add. By this time it was 6:46 and I had no time to enjoy my meal because I had to leave.
Long story short: the food is decent, it took too long for not being busy, guard your food with its life, they have tons of sauces to choose from, and don’t go if you’re in a rush.

When I feel like a really good taco I go to Tijuana Flats. I know that I won’t have a long wait and it is one of those places that never lets down. The food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. I enjoy the chicken tacos and nachos. I especially like that they run specials throughout the week. My favorite is Taco Tuesday!

This place is the best on Tuesdays, 2 tacos chips and a drink for 6 bucks, can’t beat that deal, Enjoy going there from time to time. Food I’d better than Lime of course. And the service is very prompt, I normally ordered for pickup, I walked in the food is already for me.

Fast lines. Always fresh food. The portions are huge. Thete is no other taco place near by.

Been here a few times and food isn’t bad. While it’s not the greatest Mexican food, I always can come back here for a taco or a burrito when I am hungry and I don’t want to go far.
I usually get the hard shell tacos either chicken or beef with beans, chicken is my favorite by far. It’s grilled perfectly so it tastes really good with all the fresh veggies on it. Same with the burritos from this place, which are a great size though I usually have a hard time finishing them. I love that they bring chips too, which is perfect if you’re eating a burrito or to scoop up anything that falls out of the tacos. Also they have great specials like taco tuesday and burritos on thursday so if you don’t have a lot of cash but want a good meal this place is it. Tijuana flats is famous for their sauce bar, and they label everything so you know what you’re getting. Huge fan of that too, since I always love my tacos with an extra kick. Great beer selection, while I haven’t ordered a beer there previously they do carry good Mexican food companion beers (if that makes sense).
Atmosphere isn’t bad either, weekends you have family, weekdays you have workers from the surrounding offices (packed usually at lunch fyi) and in the evenings you have the younger crowd. Love how it has low lighting at night and the art on the walls and ceiling tiles are some of my favorite to look at while I’m waiting. Service is good too, all the staff is friendly and very informed about the menu as well as the fact they are always smiling and happy to see you. My only issue is that getting your food to go takes a good amount of time, but the food is worth the wait. So you can’t complain too much about it. All in all good food, good atmosphere and great service.

Me and my coworkers are obsessed with this place, going once or twice a week to lunch here.
Trick after your 10^th visit… ORDER ONLINE. even if you want to eat it there, it cuts your wait time and your line by more than half. Plus they usually give you a coupon for this.
Ive had the chimichangas, the burritos and the quesadilla. everything is pretty good.
what takes the top notch are the chips, the guacamole and the sauce bar.
Love taht there is a little for everything.
