Sorry guys. Unilocal reviewers didn’t help out on this one. $ 30 for a large pizza I was expecting something with at least some taste. Dough was like cardboard. The toppings had no flavor. I got a supreme?! WTH?! Sauce was way below average. Didn’t have anything else there. Maybe the other food there is good. As far as the pizza?! I asked my son if he notices any homeless people around while he’s out and to text me their location. I feel bad throwing out a whole pizza. Don’t waste your money like I did. Feel so ripped off.

If something could turn a bad day into a great night via a happy tummy it’s Big O.
I’ve been enjoying Big O for 20 years+ and have never been disappointed! I enjoyed this as a child and now my 3yr old gets to experience this food wonder as well! Real ingredients that are never skimped on in the topping dept. and HELLO the cheese! You can tell real fresh mozzarella vs. other pizza places and the rubber they use. How’s the crust you ask? AMAZING! Oh did you want to know about their sandwiches? Fantastic! The Meatball is my hubby’s favorite. How about a salad /​wow! Again super fresh that is jam packed in the container. The ranch dressing is also amazing. Needless to say it’s all wonderful!
If you’ve never tried Big O what are you waiting for? Go now and thank me later! Thanks Gene for being a staple in our fantastic community of MV — I hope you are here for many more years to come!

4.5 stars. Big O has the best non fru-​fru pizza around these parts. If you are vegan, dislike generous quantities of meat and cheese, or are into thin crispy crackery crust, or crust with an airy WonderBread consistency, this is not your place. You get vintage 70’s-80’s pizza. Good chewy substantial crust with tomatoey sauce and chewy yummy cheese and toppings of your choice. It’s served up in a hole in the wall from the same era and is strictly take out. Wish Gene would do a little franchising so one would not have to drive so far and people in other places would have the chance to experience pizza that still tastes real and isn’t a byproduct of marketing campaigns served by people in colorful polyester uniforms. No frills. Just great hearty pizza. The real deal. They also have great salads and sandwiches and the prices are very reasonable. Come on, Gene! Let some dedicated franchisers give others in the nation a chance at it!

This is a great pizza place 4 stars, however it could be 5 stars if they would offer a white sauce or a pesto sauce as an alternative. I love pizza but I’m not a tomato sauce fan. I would love for you guys to expand on your sauces. I know I would order alot more pizza from you, if you would. I love supporting a local business and we are neighbors. Please take my request into consideration.

I ate here today and it was amazing! I love this little hole in the wall place and enjoy it every time I go.
They have an amazing lunch time deal which is the best and is super cheap. The pizza is the perfect size for one person and comes with chips and drink.
The reason I love this place the most though is because the cheese is absolutely fantastic! Super gooey and awesome!

The men who work there are always super nice my bf and i drove over an hr from temecula when u have a craving for big o to go no other pizza well cover it we both got personal pizza lunch special which nis more then enough and there ranch is super yummy too!

The place definitely piles on the toppings! They don’t mess around in that aspect. But the pizza lacked sauce for me. The cheese wasn’t the best quality either. Not super stretchy. I’d eat here again if somebody brought me, but wouldn’t go out of my way to hit it up alone. The folks that work there are super nice. So if you’re not a pizza snob like me, go support em.

I loved this place 20 years ago. Went back today after living out of state for a while and Big O did not disappoint. The owner has clearly found his place in the world. It shows in his friendly demeanor and the food he prepares.
Try the hot pastrami sandwich. You won’t regret it.

One of only two places you should get a sandwich in Mission Viejo. Hot turkey and roast beef, is my favorite. Meatball and sausage combo also amazing. Pizza also stands alone, excellent A+ pizza. Been going here since 1986.

Meatball Sandwich.
I’ve been eating at Big O for more than 15 years and the food has always been consistent and delicious. Their pizzas, deli sammys, and meatballs are all to die for and filling. This ain’t no Pizza Hut, this is real food. Gene also supports his community and has been for many years. I highly recommend!

First time trying a pizza from the place. Decided to try the place out since its been getting such good reviews.
Ordered for pickup and wanted a large. We were told they don’t have large pizzas available anymore so we had to settle for getting a medium and a small pizza. I ordered a mushroom and pepperoni for myself and my boyfriend ordered the big o special.
25 mins later our order was ready but it was too late when we realized the they screwed up the order all together-​the place was already closed. Is it really that hard to get a mushroom and pepperoni pizza right???

NOMZ!
I ordered a large pizza with lots of toppings and it was AH-​MAZ-​ING! I still have almost half a pizza left after my boyfriend and I pigged out! I cannot even believe people are complaining about how the pizza is wrapped. WAAAH! I actually enjoyed the convenience of disposal of the cardboard and foil, compared to a pizza box, which doesn’t fit in the trash can. After reading reviews on here about hygiene concerns, I had a watchful eye on him and was relieved to see him wash his hands before handling any of my food. As long as you’re not boujie, you’re gonna love it.
