We love blaze pizza, especially my kids, but this particular location has seen a down tick in their food handlers. Terrible attitude like they just don’t want to be working there. It affects the quality & experience. I asked for light sauce and got a heavy hand of it doused on my kids’ pizza. Perhaps the young man making the pizza rather be doing something else? Great location, Shops at MV Mall, I just hope customer service can keep up with this highly visible location.

Great pizza + great salad in less than 10 minutes. Love having the build your own pizza. Big enough to share.

Excited that there’s a blaze near me so I don’t have to drive out to Irvine for pieology. I like pieology’s crust more but the toppings at blaze are better. I think they need the cook the pizzas more since sometimes my pizza is cooked unevenly. The employees are so accommodating and nice!

I prefer PizzaRev over this place. Blaze(or at least this Blaze) barely put any sauce on my BBQ chicken pizza. It was cooked at the perfect temperature, but it was a fairly bland pizza, even with the chicken, cheese, and onions on it. I would give it 2 stars on taste but it gets a 3 star for at least giving a decent portion for the money paid. The staff there at the time was very nice and friendly also.

There is absolutely nothing special about this place. I prefer pieology over this as it always exceeds my expectations and they just know how to make a proper pizza. I ordered the art lover and it said it came with dallops of red sauce, it mentioned nothing about the base sauce on the menu. The first thing the server does is cover it in red sauce, it says nothing about that and she didn’t even ask before she did it. Additionally, it was not a red sauce kind of pizza, it had artichoke, ricotta, olives, and red onions… goes better with a white sauce for the base. Fortunately, they got rid of it and started over, still was not impressed. There was hardly any cheese on it and barely held the toppings in place. It was however a very large pizza for the price I paid. I wouldn’t consider returning.

I would say 3.5 stars. I was a little disappointed given all of the great reviews for Blaze! Have these people tried Fresh Brothers pizza? Most of the stars I gave were for the concept and follow through — I LOVE the fact that you can create your own pizza for one flat rate! I chose the Art signature pizza and I added chicken and pesto for no extra charge! Definitely a great concept. I also ordered online(via Unilocal) and it was super easy. Very user friendly, and I love that I can order ahead. When you get there you just have to check in, then they throw your pizza into the oven so that it’s piping hot when you get it! And it is really really hot… That brings me to my next not so favorite point about Blaze… The pizza was super greasy and floppy! I mean the grease was the first thing I noticed about the pizza. It was covered. Maybe it was because I added pesto? Or because of the globs of ricotta cheese? But either way it made it really messy to eat, and I just didn’t want to eat all of the liquid grease. Also, I didn’t add that much to the pizza to make it heavier, but it was«heavy»…like the pieces were floppy which also made it super hard to eat! I have to eat gluten free(Celiac), so of course got the gluten free crust. It wasn’t that great — I’ve had WAY better crust in the past. Maybe that added to why it was so floppy? But either way it shouldn’t be like that. Like I said I’ve had other gf pizza that is way better. The toppings were delicious but overall I’m not gonna run back to this place — wayyyy too many other pizza places to try!

Oooh, yummy yummy! There is something in the sauce at Blaze that is highly addicting, and I love it! Depending on the time of day, this location can either be busy(weekends) or absolutely dead(midweek, afternoon). The staff have always been pretty friendly and accommodating, making even the first time visitor feel welcome. They don’t use a pager system like some of the other businesses in the food court. I think that would benefit them, as at peak times, there can be quiet a wait around the pick up area. You can call your order in ahead, it looks like, based on some signage that is displayed near the tills. I haven’t ever done that, as one of the things I enjoy is being able to pick your toppings while looking at them. :)

I am a New Yorker & know the best Pizza in the world! lol This place is top notch for a great deal. It’s food court pizza for sure but that is not a bad thing, just is what it is. Great bargain, employees were very accommodating & pleasant, the Owner is often around & will do any job(pick up pans, clean up or even make your pizza). I was thoroughly impressed with the operation, convenience, bargain & taste. I will go back, even though I have to go to the MALL!!! gggggrrrrrrr lol

Honestly, best food in this mall. We got the Red Vine and modified it just a little, then shared the roasted veggie and Gorgonzola salad. Everything tastes fresh and was the perfect amount of food for two people. The pizza crust is VERY thin, which I’m not always a fan of, but in this case, it hit the spot for lunchtime. The prices are more than reasonable and it’s awesome that the price doesn’t change when you add additional toppings. The employees could smile a little more or have a nicer tone when they are charging you out, but I get it, they are slammed busy. Will definitely go back and eat more of their yummy pizza!

I really enjoy Blaze and was pleasantly surprised that they had a location at the Shops at Mission Viejo. I usually just go with a build-your-own because none of their signature pizzas appeal to me. I tend to ask for spicy red sauce and a variety of toppings ranging from pepperoni to artichokes and roasted garlic. I love that they have a variety of cheeses and usually ask for shredded mozzarella and fresh mozzarella. The line moves quickly and they will fire your pizza while you pay. The pizza is crispy if eaten fresh out of the oven, but can become soggy once you get home. Just pop a few slices in a frying pan on the stove to crisp the crust back up. It’s great if you’re not in the mood to cook.

Blaze is a pizzeria where you can customize your toppings aka Subway. They make the dough in front of you too. After you’re done they customizing, they toss it into a big oven and it’s done in literally 90 – 100 seconds. The final product is fantastic. I only got to eat 2 slices before the wife and son polished it off. The plight of the family man. But that isn’t Blaze’s fault.

Eaten here 3+ times now. The line, if any, moves pretty quickly. The staff is knowledgable, and the ingredients is to par compared to other locations. The pizza’s nothing to write home about. But then again I’m the one who choose the ingredient combinations. Maybe it’s not Blaze it’s me???

I’ve been trying blaze pizza at the mission viejo mall for over 1 year now. I still have yet to try any other location. Environment: well it’s the mall, so there is lots to do for kids and adults. I have been to blaze when it is busy and slow. When it gets busy, the line will go quick and you have to wait for your name to be shouted out. Many people get take out, but I usually sit. Never had any problems grabbing a seat. Food: the pizza is always cooked consistent. The Spicy red sauce is the way to go, it Has a better flavor than the regular with a small kick. I usually add almost every topping. When the toppings get cooked, they will shrink some… so add more beforehand. If you load up on toppings, then you may need to cook a little longer. They are good at determining the time. Price: great for portion size. I usually can eat the whole thing if I am starving… otherwise I save 1 – 2 slices for later. Best of the best on food quality and service! Beats any other fast casual artisanal pizza place out there. I recommend it to anyone!

The place is okay but the employees look miserable ! Maybe a raise in there wage would be more motivating, however they are hard workers and deserve a raise most definitely.

Another excellent Blaze location! I am glad they are doing so well and have expanded all over SoCal so quickly! We had an excellent lunch here, the location is great! As many toppings as you want all for one price is exactly what I want and Blaze delivers. I get a create your own pizza and salad everytime and load both with about every veggie option they offer and pesto as a base and dressing. Everything was super fresh and tasty and at $ 8 each a steal and plenty for another meal later! Can’t beat the value, service was great too, store super clean, all around great place to grab a bite!

Delicious, fast, friendly, great value. I got the custom-built, unlimited toppings 11-inch pizza for $ 7.99. They don’t skimp on toppings even though it’s unlimited. They have neat toppings like roasted garlic, spicy sauce, goat cheese, ricotta, grilled chicken, roasted bell peppers, Bleu cheese, etc that some places will charge extra for. It’s located in the food court of Mission Viejo mall, which tells you how quickly they can crank pizzas out. Staff greeted me promptly and treated me as if I was a person, not just the next one in line. Pizza came out of the oven piping hot(obviously), and I got a warm, melty s’more pie made with English digestive cookies instead of graham crackers! Way better, and the digestives hold the s’more together better than graham crackers. Get the s’more pie! This place also has gluten-free pizza dough and vegan cheese for those who are interested. You can also order online and simply pick up… What other mall food court joint can offer that? One thing I would ask them to change is their pizza pie tins… The pizza comes out on circular metal disks, which becomes hot very quickly, and you then have to carry to your table. Grab a tray lest you have no nerve endings in your fingers.

I’ve had Blaze at several different spots and normally it would slot in behind Pieology and above all other fast casual pizza spots but this location has been fantastic each visit. The last visit I tried their fresh mozzarella which was delicious. The crust was cooked perfectly too, slight airiness, good chew and not burned at all. Blaze is head and shoulders above typical mall food court choices.

I was very shocked at how quickly this line moved. Trust me, there’s going to be a line of people. It’s not often that you can find such high quality food in a mall food court so when there is, people will flock to it. But don’t let that line fool you! You’ll move along at a good clip so just stick with it. And you’ll like it. Trust me. The food here is delicious and fresh and the price point it excellent for the amount of food you get and how fresh it is. Blaze is definitely my favorite eatery at the Shoppes.

Located inside of the mall food court. We’ve seen several of these locations in various places since we moved to the area, and decided to give them a shot. We ordered the Meat Eater and decided to split it since we weren’t ready for a giant meal(at 11″ for a personal pizza, they are easy to split!). The staff was friendly and helpful with walking us through the ordering process since it was our first visit. Think Chipotle style, but pizza. Fresh toppings laid out and you pick as you walk down. They fire the pizza in 180 seconds and it comes out fresh and crispy. I’m not usually a fan of thin crust, but this was cooked perfectly and wasn’t cardboard like. The topping were very tasty and each bite seemed to get a nice mix of things. Overall: A A great option if you are in the food court!
