OMG, Longboard’s is amazing. It’s probably our favorite lunch place, however the location isn’t convenient so we don’t go as often as we’d like. Maybe that’s for the best… Longboard’s is so good, if it was closer to our house, I might eat it every day. The staff is always friendly at this location too. Get the Cabo Chicken! It won’t disappoint.

Ordered a Samoan and potato salad. potato salad a bit too herbacious for my taste. I suppose nothing was wrong with the wrap, just not a fan. I couldnt even get a quarter way down the wrap before I had to stop eating it. I dont intend on finishing it. I could try another kind and see if I’m a fan, but I dont think I’d do that unless I had to. There isnt really a true hawaiian place to eat here in KC. Hopefully the menu can add some things like katsu or musubi… please?

My 4 star rating is in comparison with other wrap shops. With that said, this place is very good. Pricing and portions are excellent. We were running out ideas for alternate quick dinner spots and thought we would give this place a chance. We were not let down. We had the Luau, Steak Teriyaki Grill and the Thai bowl. There was plenty of flavor the only real critique I could give is that the steak didn’t have as much of that unique grilled flavor that I expect when something has Grill in the name. The Thai bowl was flavorful and had a little bit of spiciness to compliment the peanut sauce. I was hoping for chunks of chicken but it was shredded. As far as healthy goes compared to other wraps, I have no idea but it sure was flavorful and hit the spot.

Years ago, I used to make the drive from NE Johnson County to their Northland location because I loved this place THATMUCH. I had lived away for a few years, and found upon my return that Longboards had moved to Mission! I was elated, and the two dozen times I have eaten there in the last two months have only bolstered my already high opinion of the place. I use Longboards for office catering and have been nothing but impressed with how accommodating, consistent and high-quality the food has been. I wish I could give this place six stars.

I owe Longboards an update. Not just to add that fifth star, but because I’ve now been here over a dozen times and have enjoyed it every single time. First, and one of my favorite things: The employees here are always nice, laid back and seem to enjoy their jobs. I’m guessing the bosses are pretty cool and do a great job because it’s a tricky balance to get nice folks who are efficient and not stressed in a rush. Second, those damn wraps with sambol sauce are so good. I bounce between the Cabo Chicken and Cabo Beef and have this ridiculous process of adding a tiny dab of spicy sambol onto each bite. It’s the bomb. I found out recently that they can roll some jalapenos up in the wraps and they have fresh, bright green peppers. Just enough for some heat but not too much. Also, when I’m extra hungry I throw in some Sweet Onion chips or the garlic potato salad. And yes, I dip these in the sambol hot sauce too. Quickest way to my heart? Friendly, local, delicious, fast. Boom.

Everything you love about the original Longboards without the need to drive way the hell north! Perfect! I’ve enjoyed the original for some time and so glad they finally opened another location that is so much more convenient. Longboards is super simple food consisting pretty much of wraps(meat, veggies, rice, cheese, in a tortilla). That’s the gist of it. Sounds simple and it is. But the reason Longboards is great is that they just make delicious things. Simple and delicious. All the ingredients are just quality and taste delicious. And then they put them together in delicious ways. It’s the perfect lunch stop. Self contained food made quickly. Lots of food that will fill you up but won’t sit on your stomach like a brick. I’ve always got leftovers when I leave. Service is quick, the prices are low, staff is friendly and the food is delicious.

Awesome crew. They welcome every customer warmly, and make sure they’re available for questions while you mull over when you want. They also serve coffee from the Roasterie! Yum. The first time I visited, I ordered the Cabo Chicken wrap. It was big, filling and fresh. Reminiscent of a chipotle burrito with a Hawaiian twist. The second time around, I tried the Vietnamese noodle bowl… Fresh ingredients, but it would be better if they hadn’t drowned the dish in sauce which was too sweet for my liking. I’ll make a comment to ask for less sauce next time I order… Because I’ll be back for the affordability and friendliness.

I was super disappointed, especially since people RAVE about this place. I even spent time reading reviews and studying the menu in anticipation of trying this place for lunch. That’s why it’s so incredibly disappointing when the food is not prepared right. I ordered the carne asada bowl(I think that’s what it was called — the online menu isn’t as descriptive as the restaurants) and the garlic aioli sauce that it came with was overpowering. There was SO much in there it was like eating soup. I attempted to drain it the best I could, but it was bad. If I ever go back for some reason, I’m ordering no sauce or on the side. I couldn’t even finish my meal, I ate about half and just dumped it. Disappointing. However, thumbs up to the friendly staff!

The service was excellent. The people who work there are lovely. The cabo chicken wrap was edible. I got the sushi wrap and it was nearly inedible. The rice was so mushy and overcooked that it tasted like nothing, the chicken also had very little flavor. The cucumbers also did not taste fresh. I take partial responsibility for holding the sauce because I think that would have made it better but the ingredients by themselves need to be a little fresher to warrant a return in my book. I would like to reiterate how sweet the workers were.

I loved this place the minute we walked in the door for dinner. They were SO nice! Food was great! Honestly I’d come back for the garlic potato salad alone. Good job guys!

How can you make the original Longboards even better? Expand your brand! This satellite location of the NKC favorite has all of the great qualities of the original with the added benefit of being closer to my house in JoCo. Longboards serves up some of the best sandwiches/wraps you can find in all of KC. Their unique«island» approach creates a meal that anyone can enjoy. From the simplicity of teriyaki chicken to some really unusual concoctions(my favorite is «wow kung pao»), you will not be disappointed. My recent meal here only served to build my loyalty to these guys. I even felt like the ingredients tasted fresher than ever — the chicken seemed chunkier and cooked just right. Fresh green peppers and green beans that snapped back at you also led to the experience. Don’t miss an opportunity to eat well here. You can gorge yourself on one of their signature double wraps or also eat very healthy with many lo-cal options. Employees are super cool and make casual conversation with everyone who comes in. Enjoy this laid back and chill environment.

This Hawaiian chicken wrap was good, but less than I expected. In short, I was hoping it would jump off the crest of the wave onto my tongue, but instead it just slid down the tube straight to my gullet. It was grilled like a panini, but everything else was pretty similar to a chipotle burrito, in my opinion. I think they use pepper jack cheese and it’s all melted up inside with guacamole and rice. The chicken seems shredded. This was the staple, the Cabo Chicken Wrap. I feel like I should have taken more time to explore the menu instead of taking a quick recommendation. I must be out of practice. Next time, next time, and there will be a next time, I’ll bear down and put my tribal mask game face on and chow on something a bit more narley! *The people next to me ordered a wrap with a whole boiled egg in it. What was I thinking?! I’m totally bogus today, dudes!

Wow! Kung Pao! That’s the name of the wrap I had and the feeling I got when eating it. Spicy, flavorful, and awesome!!! The food comes out fast and you can listen to Bob Marley while you wait. Can you beat that? Great food and a cool atmosphere!

Mission is really getting some great eating options, and as a long-time Mission resident I am really happy about that. Longboards is definitely a great addition to the area. Longboards is a fast casual restaurant specializing in wraps, salads, and noodle bowls with a California/Hawaiian Asian fusion twist. I got the Thai Chicken wrap, for instance, which has chicken, pepper jack cheese, vegetables, rice, and a spicy peanut sauce. Taste-wise, it’s kind of like Pad Thai, but with rice instead of noodles, and with chicken and cheese, and… you know, come to think of it, it’s not like Pad Thai. I love Thai food, but come to think of it I generally go for the same few dishes. One of the two I was with got the Wow! Kung Pao wrap(that’s not a typo, that’s how it’s written), which was very spicy and very flavorful. The other got the Cabo Beef, and he doesn’t share so I have no idea how good it was other than the fact that he liked it. The jerk. I got garlic potato salad as a side. Very good, and no worries about vampires afterwards. Service was good, and fairly fast. Our wraps were grilled, so it took a few minutes, but they had them out as quickly as physics would allow. Prices are okay; we spent about $ 11 – 12 apiece, including wrap, side, and drink, which is about what I anticipate for fast casual. Kind of a small location, but enough of an eating area that you should be able to find some space.

I ordered a Cabo chicken grilled wrap with a side salad and a drink at the counter. My order was ready in about three minutes. The wrap ingredients(chicken, guac, pepperjack, pico, rice, and chipotle dressing) worked very well together. It was delicious, and was served at the perfect temperature. The side salad was tasty, and fresh. The interior was nicely decorated, and clean, with music playing.

Their OG(super large wraps) menu is awesome! I prefer the 619. Steak, shrimp, guacamole, pepperjack, pico de gallo, olives, bacon, hard-boiled egg, rice and chipotle ranch on a chipotle tortilla. Good GOD! It is delicious and gives me two meals, and I am a big eater. So don’t let the $ 12+ price throw you off.

Longboards is a nice change of pace and a welcome addition to the neighborhood. They’re a «Hawaiian influenced,» restaurant and the food reflects it. The menu offers warm, cold and large wraps, ramen bowls and salads. They’ll also advertise unique specials of the day so you might want to keep an eye on their Facebook and Twitter pages. I personally am a fan of the Pork Luau, but whatever you decide to order is probably a good decision. The food is nice and light so even if you go a little crazy you won’t feel too heavy walking out. Whether you dine in or get it to go, Longboards is well worth it.

Yep, A-OK just about sums it up! I had noticed tons of 4 and 5 star reviews, so the hubby and I decided to check out Longboards for lunch. The staff is friendly and food comes out fast. I had a Pork Luau wrap which was good, but not great. The hubby ordered the Samoan and offered me a bite and I liked it a bit better than my wrap, probably because it had a nice kick. I also had the garlic potato salad and it had more flavor than my wrap, but was a bit heavy on the dressing. The atmosphere is very casual. Underline very. There are terribly uncomfortable chairs and barstools, and décor consists of an American flag/beach vibe/Asian influence. Odd, but interesting to look at. I would definitely stop in again when in the area and looking for a cheap quick meal.
