This is one of my favorite coffee shops and it’s so close to my home! I’ve spent many Saturday’s studying here and they have a wonderful cozy atmosphere. I recommend getting a Carpe Diem card, every 10th drink you get is on the house!

I went here a couple times while staying with my gal pal who goes to Spring Hill. The service was great, the coffee was great, I remember enjoying a smoothie and a muffin as well another time. The vibes were all warm and zen. There was this balance of community, charm, and chillville, all at once(even though I talked to almost no one there lol). A true local coffee shop for sure.

Truly one of my favorite haunts in Mobile. I’d go there just to smell the coffee. Southern pecan is my favorite! Best in Mobile. I love the historic house it’s in!

Stopped by here on my way out of the city. It was for sure out of our way, but we didnt want to stop at the big-box coffee shop. They had a great selection of pastries and snacks, too. Great atmosphere and friendly service.

This is the coffee shop you send your children to after school to grab a cookie and a bottled Coke to do their homework with their friends. This is the coffee shop the older gentlemen gets his whipped cream-topped sugary, caffeinated beverage and reads the daily paper while striking up conversations with redheads buried in their computer that welcome the reprieve. We heard there were two coffee shops worth going to in town and this was one of them nestled in a nice little spot near Springhill. From a block away you can smell the roasting coffee beans that encompass this little house turned coffee haven. We sat on the front porch till the 2pm heat got to us. I barely touched my coffee before we went inside since I felt I was literally absorbing coffee through my pores and inhaling it through the air. Inside various couches and small tables are in the front area, with a more studious area in the back. A room off to the left is like a mad scientist laboratory for coffee grinders. Believe me, I wanted to just go and watch them do whatever they were doing in there instead of working… As this was my second mocha of the day, I found it to be stronger than the first without being too heavy on the chocolate, and no syrupy taste whatsoever. My suggestions if you do happen upon this spot: If you’re studying/working, find your way to the back room or you may find yourself having long conversations about best restaurants in town or eavesdropping on a gaggle of little girls talking about the latest drama in middle school. They also seemed to have some delicious pastries. If I hadn’t been so immensely full from lunch that day, I would’ve partaken.

Coffee lover traveling to Mobile? As you’ve probably discovered, this is officially«the other one» here in town. And though it’s out of the way, I’m going to agree with The Unilocal and suggest you make the trek out here if good coffee, a comfortable atmosphere and fast/free wifi are on your agenda. Carpe Diem’s winning elements are definitely their in-house roasted coffee and homemade treats. And enjoying these in the comfort of a historic home makes them all the more sweet.

Super cute place. Reminds me of Central Perk and any other college themed coffee shop. Chocolate cake was yummy. Coffee was strong.

Seriously the absolute best tiramisu I’ve had my entire life. 10 – 14 years ago, I would come here after Murphy High to spend my hard earned student money for their tiramisu. Fast forward 14 years and moving a state away, I still go back. Service and quality are consistent. I try tiramisu all over the country to see if it can compare it doesn’t — the closest to flavor and texture was a bakery in Little Italy at New York. I am also an avid food show attendee being in the food industry. I highly recommend! Their prices are higher than other places but their demographic is willing to pay so no real qualms.

Very cute location and nice atmosphere. Baristas are very attentive and offer recommendations of drinks they enjoy. Breakfast is very good, especially the breakfast bagels. Filling and fresh tasting, and affordable. Their lunch croissant sandwiches are also very good, served with potato chips. If I were them, I would also offer a baked chip option for those that are more health conscious as I saw a few people either throw away their chips or give them back to the baristas once they were done eating. Tiramisu is to die for. I am very particular of my tiramisu, and it is some of the best I have had. Now I can’t speak for the regular hot coffee, as I have only had iced lattes. The first time I got the sugar free Irish crème iced latte, and it was decent. Espresso tasted good, just not too sure about the flavor. The second time I got an almond iced latte… and it honestly was just not drinkable. It was ridiculously strong(the almond flavor)…to the point that it tasted like a cough syrup. I do think the drink could have used more stirring, as it just didn’t taste well blended. I’m not one to complain, so I just went on my way, but at close to $ 5 for the drink, I was hoping for something a little better. They do have free wifi though and the atmosphere is great for studying. Parking kinda sucks, but that’s cool. Overall pretty cool place

Nice little coffee shop; very popular with the kids attending Saint Paul’s. Stopped in for a chai latte before the long drive down to Orange Beach. The iced chai latte was very tasty but overly sweet. I had to add water to continue drinking it. The white chocolate raspberry scone was still good the next morning.

If all coffee shops were like this. Starbucks would have never left Seattle. Jumpy monkey was tha SHIT! The customer service is top notch as well. I wish I could teleport here daily for my caffeine fix!

They are patient with my son picking out the most difficultly placed cookie. They are his favorite part of Friday. There is great coffee and wonderful iced tea flavors. As a bonus there is great WiFi so we can do homework.

Great espresso-based drinks. Decent atmosphere, but needs to expand both their parking and seating.

Carpe Diem is my favorite coffee shop in Mobile. The atmoshpere is comfortable and the staff are always a delight to talk to. I need a lot of sunlight and windows when it comes to feeling comfortable while I have to sit and work for awhile. The coffee is great, but if you like tea, you should definitely try the vanilla roobios. I do wish they had some more gluten free options for breakfast, but the chicken salad is wonderful. Carpe Diem is a safe haven for me and I’m glad i stumbled upon it.

I live in Houston, travel through the area regularly and make a point to visit every time I’m in town. Mind you, this is not necessarily the most convenient spot(at least for those traveling along I-10) but still worth it. And it’s one of the few places I’ll purchase whole beans — though I’ll admit to reaching to the back to get the fresher stuff.

This place and Serda’s are about neck and neck, but I’ll have to say I like this place more. The atmosphere is cozy, but not dirty or musty(like Satori’s) with a great outdoor patio. The coffee is the best in Mobile for real espresso lovers, albeit maybe not the most consistent. The coffee beans from there are great, and have a roasted on date, usually only 1 – 4 days before. They offer lots of coffee and tea making supplies, and the staff has always been happy and helpful. My only reservation is that although they take credit cards, they don’t take Discover. If you order coffee online they do, but they don’t in the store. I can see why, but as my main payment form, it’s still a little of a nuisance.

The coffee is really good and the service is good. The best part of Carpe Diem are the customers. High school kids, college kids, young moms in their workout clothes, business men and older folks. Just a really nice mix of people and personalities, most of whom are chatting with each other. Only downside is I wish they more comfortable seating. What they have is fine for a small sit but I’m not sure I’d like to be in there for more than a few hours.
