My fiancé and I went wine tasting here a couple of months ago. They have great wine and great service. The lady who helped us was very friendly and informative. We bought 4 bottles of wine and she suggested I used one bottle to make brownies with. I replaced the water with the wine and they came out AMAZING. The vineyard is beautiful and there is a terrace above with tables and a great view to relax and drink wine. We loved it so much we had our engagement pictures done here also! I would highly recommend this vineyard.

We had the pleasure of hosting Smith Mountain Wine Tasters Club at Ramulose Ridge Vineyard. It is a beautiful facility with a gorgeous view. We were fortunate to experience a wonderful sunset. It is definitely a great place to take friend for an afternoon of wine tasting and a picnic lunch.

If you are in the Smith Mountain Lake area and are in the mood for a great wine tasting, this is the place to go. In fact, the other winery in the area wasn’t even open on a Monday afternoon. Sandy was a great hostess, and we got to taste about 10 wines, all of which were great. I especially liked the cabernet franc! For a winery that has only been open to the public for a few weeks, this place is definitely worth the trip!

Went here today to check out a new vineyard. Turns out it is very new and only opened on Thursday. While they are still putting the finishing touches on a very nice tasting room, they already have the customer experience down pat. Friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about their wines and wine in general. This is definitely a legit winery. Some southern VA wineries only have very sweet wines or fruit wines, but that is not the case here. About 10 or 12 different wines from about 8 to 10 different varietals of grape(don’t remember exact numbers). The wines were great and a group of 5 of us bought 5 different bottles of wine. The winery itself is gorgeous. The building for the tastings additionally houses a rental space on the upper level that is also gorgeous. It opens onto a patio with beautiful views of both the grape vines and the VA countryside and mountains in the distance. You can buy a bottle(pre-chilled if white) and enjoy it and the views from the patio. As a side note, their label design is really cool. I can’t say enough about how nice and engaging the staff of Ramulose were. It is a family run business with a father-son owner combo and each of their wives as the wine maker and general manager. We were able to meet three of the four family members and they are clearly passionate about what they do and determined to do it right. They definitely seem well on their way already. We will be back for sure, for the great wine, the great views, and the great people involved with this up and coming winery.
