I have had carry out here a couple times and each time was perfection. I had their steak and it was cooked to order perfectly! I hope to order from there again soon. Great staff and excellent food!

has been a while since we have been in. its not the same as when they first opened. food has declined. the ribs are gross. slathered i sauce which tastes like its from a bottle. the potato and ham soup was luke warm and tasted like mush. hardly any ham. mac and cheese had no flavor. my husband got the bounty and the baker potato. the only good thing about it is its large. but even they have changed the way they make that. not the same as it used to be. dont think we will be back. dont know whats changed but it isnt for the good. totally disappointed.

We were skeptical about coming here after reading poor reviews. Sure glad we came anyway! The food and service were excellent! Our waitress, Amber, did a great job. She was very attentive… returning to our table many times to check on us, refill our drinks, bring us more rolls, etc. I had the Traverse City Wild Cherry Salad which was very good. My sister-in-law had a house salad which had a homemade Greek dressing with feta cheese. AWESOME! I was able to taste the«Cherry Chicken» which I will definitely order when we return. It was served over pasta and was delicious! By the way. they still have the breakfast buffet on Sundays. My sister-in-law said it’s very good. .quite an assortment of food, pastries, etc. Sure glad we gave them a try!

Very disappointed, went there for New Years, it has been our tradition. The appetizer bar was cut down to bare minimum, no shrimp had cold cut rolls and baked wieners. Service was still slow, restaurant halve empty. Ribs were baked with some bottled sauce poured on top. Rest of food ok. Waitress said there had been owner changes. This was the last time we will go there.

I can’t even begin to try to put into words how disappointed I am. I just spent $ 40 for lobster mac and cheese, a full rack of ribs, and lobster bisque soup. Let’s start with a macaroni and cheese; great noodles, cooked properly however no flavor at all in the cheese sauce and as it coagulated and separated from the oil in the bottom of the to-go container, I was so disgusted I could only put it away in the garbage. The lobster was overcooked and fishy, and I did not even eat that part. Let’s move on to the lobster bisque; huge globs of a flour-like goo that was absolutely disgusting! Then the ribs: dry, and tasteless, even drenched in sauce(sweet-ish red water) not edible! $ 40 down the crapper! I will never ever ever ever ever spend another dime at Blues! SOOOOOOOO! Pissed!

Food is ok at best and service is the worst I have ever seen. The waiter had no idea that fish and chips was fish and fries. Had to yell to get our bill.

Wasn’t expecting a whole lot being where it’s at but the food was delicious! Wish they had more beer on tap but I came for the food and it overachieved what I expected!

Very good! We started with soup. We had the French onion and the lobster bisque. The bisque was great while the French onion was ok, but too much soggy bread under the cheese. Our entrees were very good. The ribs were tender and tasty. The crab stuffed shrimp was great. Even our sides. the fries and garlic butter pasta were very good.

The best Sunday brunch. The best and best priced mixed drinks. The best burgers and barbeque!

Came yesterday with my bf and his parents, both couples did the dinner for 2 and all had prime rib. .my mil’s was half fat, upon asking for a new piece the waitress said the cook refused to make a new piece because it would be the same, mind you the other 3 looked nothing like hers… they then offered to give her $ 5 off the bill, manager was rude and unprofessional, will never go here again, what happened to making sure the customer is happy, the only one trying was the waitress and obviously she doesn’t have much control in the chain of command

Sunday 5÷31÷15 I had the half slab of ribs and my fingers were covered with BBQ sauce. I asked Amy(server) for a wet wipe. She replied we do not have them and management is not going to order any. Amy brought me a coffee cut of hot water and 2 paper napkins. I would prefer my ribs be served on a plate instead of a wicker basket with a plastic liner. Shame on Management.

Don’t expect to get a decent pulled pork sandwich there. Actually you won’t be able to to get any kind of pulled pork there. They advertise a «pulled pork» sandwich, but what you’ll get is dry, overcooked sliced pork piled on your bun with BBQ sauce on the top and bottom. The pork also had a funky aftertaste like maybe it was freezer burned a little.

My in-laws drag us here all the time for Sunday brunch. The food is reheated frozen garbage. It is the worst breakfast buffet I have ever been to. Worse than the continental breakfast you get at a cheap hotel for free. Biscuits and gravy made with canned CHICKEN gravy. The sausage they serve is reheated from frozen so they don’t have any drippings to make real gravy. The cheesecake(I think that is what it was supposed to be) literally tasted rancid. I am pretty sure the honey buns came from the gas station, and were the off brand. The staff is reasonably friendly, which I assume is the only reason this place has any decent reviews. I know Monroe doesn’t have much in the way of decent restaurants but this place is especially bad.

Walked in, only people in the place, should’ve got the hint. Sat down and got dirty silverware and water glass. After she replaced that we ordered. I ordered the patty melt and my friend ordered the BBQ bacon burger, well done. My patty melt had no seasoning and the bun was rock hard. My friends burger came back twice with pink meat. Horrible experience don’t do it.

I came here as a family visit. This is one of the best BBQ meals I have ever had. Ribs, mac and cheese, potato salad, calamari, lobster bisque soup, and bread. Everything is made fresh in house. This is truly a gem. You would never know it being in a strip mall, but give this place a try. You will not be disappointed.

decided to make the trip after reading a review in the Blade. I should have known… I guess when you get free meals you are generous with your review. Went in for lunch on a Saturday, there were maybe 3 other tables. The service was painfully slow, to the point where I was going to leave it took her so long to approach me. The lighting is extremely poor, not sure what type of décor they are going for. Garbage day chic? Ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich — with a slice of onion, ice tea, coleslaw. The bun was stale and way too big for the puny piece of chicken. The coleslaw was touted as being fabulous. They must have been out of the fabulous stuff that day, and substituted it with the really mediocre slaw. The slice of onion did not arrive with the sandwich, so I asked, only to receive a dish of chopped up lightly sauteed onions AFTER I finished my sandwich at a rate of .79 cents. Server never asked how the food was, nor offered a refill on the tea. Service: lousy Food: not that great

Just OK? Been here several times, & once for all you can eat crab. Service was pretty bad & every time I ask for more crab, I got crabby attitude from my server & had to wait a looong time between servings. Best experience I had here was mother’s day brunch 2014. Probably will NOT be back, even though I like that it is locally owned.

Big Blues is a good place to come if you’re hungry and don’t want to spend a lot. You’ll find better BBQ in a number of restaurants, but it offers very good value, and the food is OK. They offered a super deal on a BBQ platter special when we visited. For $ 13.95 you got a half rack of ribs, two pieces of chicken breast BBQ, a «small» pulled pork sandwich, half a roasted corn on the cob, corn bread and a mac and cheese. The ribs were good. Nice and tender with a good flavored BBQ sauce. The pulled pork was listed as «small». I was expecting a slider but it was stuffed on a full hamburger bun. It was tasty but a little dry. Overall not bad. The downsides were the chicken and mac and cheese. The chicken tasted like a broiled chicken breast that had BBQ sauce slabbed on it at the last minute, and the cheese on the mac and cheese was lacking any taste. Both had very little flavor. The upside was, even if you didn’t eat them, the rest was still plenty of good food for the price. Service was fine.

This review is based solely on Big Blue’s Sunday brunch buffet. Rolling into the shopping center early on a Sunday morning, you’ll find aisles full of cars in an otherwise empty parking lot outside of Big Blue’s. Even though we walked into a packed restaurant, my mom and I were seated immediately. And not a minute had gone by before our waitress appeared to take our drink order. Upon entering the buffet area, you’ll find covered trays filled with eggs, breakfast meats, potatoes, pierogis, biscuits and gravy, and french toast. But wait, there’s more! On the back wall sits an unhealthy spread for a serious sweet tooth: tiny cream puffs, eclairs, cannolis, parfaits, cookies and a massive, MASSIVE bowl of whipped cream to put atop your newly-assembled strawberry shortcake. And let us not forget the Belgium waffle and omelette station, finished off with a board of freshly-carved ham. Big Blue’s does breakfast right! The scrambled eggs, which usually on a buffet line are dry and inedible, were moist and quite good. The potato pancakes were delicious, akin to McDonald’s hashbrowns. Scalloped potatoes were awesome, albeit a bit greasy. The bacon was another home run: thin, crispy and delicious. I went back for seconds on the bacon, but not on the sausages, which were somewhat rubbery. The biscuits were decent, the gravy just«okay.» My mom didn’t finish that plate. I’m also slightly ashamed to admit that I went a little overboard on the aforementioned«sweet treats» station toward the back. Now, it’s obvious that most-to-none of these items are made in-house, but when you sit them out on little silver platters and sprinkle them with powdered sugar and light them so they beckon you to eat them, well, they’re going to be stuffed into my face. And they really hit the spot. We didn’t do the omelettes or the waffles, but with the quality of everything else, I’m sure Blue’s did a great job. The quality of the service was spot-on for how busy they were; it seemed there was one waitress to every three-or-so tables for the rush. I’m really glad I don’t get the chance to go Michigan to visit my mom often; I’d be gorging myself here weekly!

Great service and great food. Good menu list with many options. We stopped in here as it seems to be the place to go for good food. After many trips from the west side of the state to the east we found this place to have good service, food and value and thats what has us coming back yime and time again. You get a ton for what you pay for. Always left satisfied! Will definitely come again.
