Favorite barbq in town! I highly recommend them for catering. I thought I needed twice as much brisket for a group. The owner told me how much I needed & it was perfect. The barbq is smokey but not too sweet. Generous portions and very good sides

I smelled this place as I drove by, and knew immediately I’d be eating there for lunch. It deserves a 6th star just for how good it smells. I had the ribs and beef brisket, both were delicious – and I’m very picky about my barbecue. Even the sides were above average. With a price of just $ 9 for two meats and two sides, it’s the best meal for the dollar I’ve had in a long time. The only negative thing I can say, is that I wish they’d put less barbecue sauce on the meat. It’s so good, it really doesn’t need sauce. So ask for it on the side.

Best all around BBQ in the area. Price can’t be beat either. The chopped chicken sandwich is awesome. I’ve been all over Louisiana and numerous states around the country for work and this is always my go to place. Every time I get around, I have to stop in for a plate.

This was a great place to stop for lunch as we passed through. Love to go to local spots instead of chains. The beef and sausage were really good and my husband thought the beans were great. I didn’t even get to taste them. My daughter wanted pulled pork, but settled for ham. She said it was good too. There are a few seats inside, which kept us from having to eat in the car. Everyone in there was so friendly and nice too. We’ll be back the next time we’re here.

I work in this area at least once a year. Of all the place that I like to come to besides A Taste Of India is this place. They in my opinion have some of the best BBQ in the state. I ordered the 2 piece BBQ chicken(white meat) with coleslaw and baked beans($ 6.00 with taxes). A lot of BBQ spots don’t cook white meat properly. Meaning they don’t cook it long enough(raw) or they overcook(dry) it. Mine had a nice smokey flavor and was moist. The sauce had a nice sweet flavor but not to sweet to it. I do wish they’d ask if you want the sauce on your meat or not before putting it on. Great food and service.

This is by far the best BBQ I have ever had and I have done some traveling in my time.

My favorite BBQ anywhere in the entirety of Louisiana – (and trust me: I get around) – I had to stop in again today after returning to Monroe for the first time in a year and a half. Their buttery beef brisket can’t be beat and, unlike a lot of places, they don’t skimp on quality when it comes to the sides. My favorite is the pecan pie which tastes like someone’s Grandmother made it as a special surprise when the boys weren’t looking. At $ 1 a slice, the pie goes great with the free coffee the Motel 6 next door supplies between 5 am and noon. Shawnuff opens at 11 am, so plan your lunch wisely, penny-pinchers. One protein-packed brisket sandwich, pecan pie and cup of Joe = $ 6.03. This includes Monroe’s steep 9.99% sales tax, a function of city(0.39), parish(5.6) and state(4) taxes. BONUS: If you’re a Steelers fan or enjoy fish-out-of-water scenes, the cozy interior includes as much Steeler Nation paraphernalia as can fit gracefully on the walls. Ask about it, for laughs.
