Loved this place! Service was on point and the food was delicious. Started with the tuna taquitos and empanadas. Delicious! My husband and I both had the tile fish tacos with coleslaw and mango… Yum! One of the best restaurants in town, especially because of the staff — seemed to be made up of more locals. Nice drink menu as well. Will definitely be back.

When your main courses are $ 25−30+ and your drinking glasses are disposable plastic? The sweet potato gnocchi was a joke, 6 pieces of gnocchi in a broth with a few peas and cauliflower for $ 28…$ 28!!!(see photo). This wasn’t even as filling as a starter and it was vegetarian. And the fish tacos we’re just ok, after all they are served in a hard shell which just didn’t work with the flavors. To top it off there is a guy singing in the background about his big hard you know what. There was nothing about this restaurant worth coming back for.

Amazing. Fiona was spectacular as a server. The food for lunch is amazing. Caesar salad with shrimps?! I’m– whoa. The fries are banging. Why go back for dinner when the food is awesome at 3PM?! Wolffer Rose table wine is a great value for the product. We will be back. Immediately.

Great vibes and friendly staff. Lots of attractive people here so it’s great for drinks at night and to hang out. Food was just OK. We had fish tacos and the burger. Burger was lacking flavor and had a bit too much of a charred taste to it especially for a medium rare. The fish tacos were underwhelming — deep fried fish sticks at the bottom of the hard shell taco and topped with mangos etc. With the way the ingredients were arranged it was hard to bite into both to get a flavor mix into every bite. It would have been much better if the fish wasn’t a solid piece and mixed in a bit better with the other ingredients to get a good savory /citrusy and crunch per bite capita. Great place for drinks and hanging out though!

Love this place… Be it any meal of the day. It’s simply perfect. There is always a waiting period but it’s totally worth it… Food is amazing… Or maybe it just what u need at the end of a perfect day at the beach. Place has a very nice vibe to it. Good music n great beer on a summer afternoon makes it perfect. Love to visit again. Definitely recommended

Its def worth while to visit and eat at this place if your out in the hamptons. Consider being in the Hamptons its quiet surprising when the food came out. It is huge! mane their seabass whole fish with sweet and chilly sauce is to die for!

Now I don’t mind spending cash on a night out on the town, or on any meal for that matter. In my opinion it was a bit over priced for the portions and the types of meals you’re getting, especially for a place with a downtown Brooklyn vibe. With that being said, the food was banging. To start, I had myself a curried chicken empanada w/provolone that just melted in your mouth with the infusion of spices and cheese. Not overwhelmingly spicy but enough to let you know it’s there. For the main dish of course I went for the lobster roll. It was served in a croissant, which was different but in this case different was defiantly a good thing. It was stuffed with a delicious lobster salad which included healthy chunks of lobster. Just wish it was a little larger in size. Now the 3 stars isn’t because the food, that was nicely done, I have it 3 stars for its waiting services…

A bit overpriced for my taste. I ordered lobster roll here, but I was underwhelmed. The patio space is nice, and is adjacent to the bar, so the atmosphere is all right. The sweet potato gnocchi, however, tasted pretty good, and the mushroom broth tasted deep without being too salty.

The drinks are strong, the food is fresh, the staff is friendly and they have music. A bit on the pricey side, gets a little packed, but overall a good time.

Great vibe. East coast surfer shack. Great food. The«Spicy Tuna Taquitos» and the«Lamborghinis»(lamb sliders) were amazing. Highly recommend.

The reviews for this place were too good to be true, I thought. Nope, it really is great! Our lunch was phenomenal. We had the spicy tuna tartar taquitos, fish tacos, and the daily special which was a soft shell crab BLT. The gig shack exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to visit again!

This is clearly a local hang out, so expect a fair bit of noise from the bar. One of the first things you notice when you walk in are all the beer tap handles along wall, which is a bit odd for a bar that only has three generic beers on tap. Prices for entrees are steep(even for this area, where restaurant prices are generally inflated), but the salads and shareable plates are more reasonably priced and equally portioned. Mussels were plump and tender(though the spicy coconut milk sauce did not blow me away like it did for some other reviewers), and scallops were some of the best I’ve ever had. Don’t skip dessert(all homemade).

What more can I say from my previous review! My family loves the Gig! Great vibe, atmosphere and fun place. Grab a picnic table outside listen to some live music have a some of the best fish tacos you will have and enjoy it with a nice local Ice cold brew! You will not be disappointed. Staff is friendly, no reservations so the wait time can vary but it’s worth the wait! We love supporting the locals ! Some other great dishes are the Tuna tacos, burger is amazing, mussels Delish and carrots !! Rock on and head over to the Gig!

Excellent experience here! Great surroundings with cool décor and beach shack feel to the place. The food was delicious, I had the chorizo sandwich, which was good, but I would have liked fries with it as opposed to salad leaves. My husband had the burger and he said it was perfect. Service was quick and staff were friendly. I think it would be a nice evening spot for drinks as well, the bar got quite busy while we’re dining in the late afternoon.

I had lunch with two friends at The Gigshack in July. The Shack is located in downtown Montauk, but the restaurant is open-air and still gives one the feel of being at the beach. We sat outside in the front of the restaurant and ordered their crab cakes and lobster rolls. The crab cake was small-ish in portion, but excellent. I probably could have eaten 10 of these on their own. Their lobster roll, in addition, is one of the best in Montauk. The lobster salad is nestled inside a large croissant bun, which is an absolutely perfect combination with the lobster salad. I recommend this dish very much. If you are in the Hamptons, then you should trek out east and have a meal at the Shack. I’m definitely going to return there as often as I can. In addition, we were there on a day(a Wednesday, I think) where much of their champagne was half-priced. Of course, we had to partake in that enjoyment, also.

Three words: Spicy. Thai. Mussels. The end. Whatever you order here, you can’t go wrong. Fish tacos, mussels, tuna tartare, empanadas, even the grilled asparagus is delicious. IF you get the mussels, ask for extra bread — don’t waste all that delicious juice when you finish the mussels. They have a great beer choice to set the mood for summer beach town. And the cocktails are amazing. It’s a great atmosphere with good live music. I do miss the lounge couches that used to be in the side section though!

This is my favorite restaurant in Montauk and on Long Island! Gig Shack has the best fish tacos and they’re a must try! The fish is perfectly blackened and they pair it with a delicious slaw and hearty mango salsa. Another must try are the white wine mussels which are always spot on. The sauce is absolutely delicious and they give you toasty bread for dipping which is the best part! Also try the tuna tartare taquitos, can’t go there without getting them! Love this place and you can’t go wrong with any menu items!
