Daunt’s Albatross Motel

I only stayed one evening but was very happy with the super clean and comfortable room. Nice flat screen TV, comfy bed, wifi worked fine. A real coffee pot that made a full pot! Small fridge and microwave. It was extremely windy out in the morning but I didn’t hear it at all in the room. The shower was tiny but the hot water was strong and plentiful. The courtyard outside the room had several BBQ grills one of which had a smoker and the pool area looked like it would be a fun place to be in season with more grills. Since it was December of course the pool was covered. In the morning I walked into town for breakfast, which was a short trip and the beach was another block south of the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed with family (3 kids) on Thanksgiving weekend. Friendly staff. They were able to provided a cot. Assortment of DVDs and VCR tapes you can get from the office. (yes they have DVD VCR player combos). Small kitchen area had a microwave stove and fridge. had a nice terrace. Had a hairdryer in the bathroom. Everything worked fine but obviously was not very new (appliances, furniture etc) and the room has not been renovated in while. We would definitely go back. Big plus, close walk to town and beach. Also free wifi and it worked better that usual for a hotel/​motel.

Nice calm, quiet, clean hotel that won’t break the bank. We paid $ 99/​night on a weeknight but I think the rate went to $ 299 or something on the weekend. If I had paid that much I would have been mad as this is an old and sort of run down motel with a tiny bathroom. The plusses: quiet, clean, cheap, good location The minuses: old and with a tiny bathroom. Everything in this area is overpriced so I’m just happy we found a place that is clean for $ 99 instead of a dirty old rat trap which is what I’d sort of expect for $ 99 in an area that is way way way overpriced.
I’d just like to stress that it’s clean. Old is one thing, tiny maybe you can’t do too much about — but you can always clean. And they do!
