Good hk food for a reasonable price. Try the fish shumai for breakfast. The hk drinks are tasty too :) guess the place closed down before i could post my review lol

Came here for dinner last night, not by choice, but because all the other places in this plaza was jam packed and had long waits. It still had some empty tables here when we came in at 8pm on a Friday, which was perfect because the boyfriend was starving. The waiter was very helpful and answered some questions that we had about some of the dishes. We started with complimentary house soups made from Gua(melon) and it was very tasty. My Seafood Chow Fun came out pretty quick. We proceeded to chow down(heh heh heh) as we wait for the japanese omurice dish. We waited 20 min, until I waved down another waiter and told him we were still waiting for our japanese omelette. He told us «Oh it‘s because we have lots of orders for American dishes, and there isnt much for the Chinese dishes thats why theres a longer wait.» He probably went to the back to tell the chefs to make it because a minute after that, he came out and told us that they‘re making it right now. I eventually finished my noodles and we were still waiting for the omurice. By that time, the boyfriend was really aggravated and is ready to leave. We waited another 5 min, and it eventually came out. The food was good, but it just sucks that we had to wait for it. I like that they added more different variety dishes. This is my second visit here after visiting my first time when they first opened, I wasn‘t impressed with their food in the beginning and I‘m still not impressed. Everything is mediocre, and prices are a tad higher than a regular café.

This place frustrates me! The food was alright and the wait for the food was like 30 minutes per dish. The milk tea was kind of bland too. We ordered 3 dishes. And I am not exaggerating at all… It took about 1 hour for 2 dishes to be served. We ended up canceling our last order because they said we had to wait a little longer for it. The sad thing is – it wasn’t even BUSY at all! One good thing was that the waitress that served us was very friendly or maybe it’s because she saw me holding up my fist… Overall, I would not recommend this place unless you have a lot of time to waste.

Pros: –complimentary drink & soup with an entrée order. –very reasonable prices especially if you factor in the drink. –restaurant is big and new… it still feels clean. Cons: –the food sucks. It’s either too salty, too sweet, too bland, or too greasy. –even the drinks are bland! –service, although they try, is quite disorganized. –relatively small portions. If you’re going to a café for a meal, you’re probably going because you’re hungry and you want a tasty, hassle-free meal without spending too much money. Xpress does seem to have most of these qualities; it’s easy and it’s cheap but unfortunately the food is woeful compared to similar like-kind cafes. Quite frankly, I’d rather pay more to enjoy what I’m eating.

I went in here because it was the only restaurant that wasn’t too crowded and my stomach was begging for some love. I noticed there’s a piece of paper on the table with Chinese writings. I guess you’re supposed to fill out the order yourselves. but there’s a slight problem here. I only understand basic Chinese characters. Where is the English version? Ordered Singaporean fried vermicelli, fried squid with spicy salt and kiwi slush. Singaporean Fried Vermicelli: tasted kinda chalky because they didn’t mix the curry powder evenly. I didn’t like its frozen shrimps either. But at least it’s not greasy and it was kinda spicy. Fried Squid with Spicy Salt: It was kinda crispy and good but the batter wasn’t mixed well. Some squid pieces were tasteless. Kiwi Slush: Tasteless. It was basically almost $ 4 of green icy water. They gave us free soup served in a metal bowl inside a plastic bowl. Tiny pieces of overcooked carrots with one piece of pure fat. Service was friendly but the workers were rushing. The place wasn’t even crowded and they were running around like headless chickens. The waiter’s finger almost touched my vermicelli until he realized I gave him a deadly stare. They served a full glass of ice water and a ¾ full glass of ice water. Did you rush pouring the water too? They really need to take their time cooking and serving their meals. I like fast, efficient service when it’s done right. It was kinda funny to watch them literally running. Almost looked like they were incompetent. I left my credit card at the edge of my table seconds after the waiter gave me the bill. This waiter passed by my table 3 times and didn’t even notice that. They were super nice though. 2 stars! Café Xpress is not yummylicious!

This restaurant blows in a very bad way. Service sucks, can’t comment on the food because it never came out, can’t comment on the drinks because it never came out… you get the picture. We waited 20 minutes to order, an HOUR for the food/drinks, and finally took off. The manager is some kind of dumb-founded idiot. He runs around not knowing anything about restaurant operation. He constantly likes to reassure that your food/drinks are coming«soon», but it never does. If you DON’T wanna be frustrated for the rest of your day, stay away from this place. They need to scrap this place from top to bottom.

1 Star for Combo Meals with Drinks 1 Star for Giant TV showing K-Pop and Taiwan Music Videos But that’s all the stars they get from me. Since I was told that they have different cooks for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This review is solely based on the BREAKFAST experiences I had at this restaurant. Restaurant is located in the middle of Atlantic Times Square(right by the escalator coming up from the parking structure). For some odd reason, my dad loves to come to this restaurant for breakfast. PROS: — No wait: I have been here 4 – 5 times on the weekends, and never had to wait for a table. — $ 4.99 to $ 6.99 Breakfast Combo: Price is based on what you choose from Menu A. After you choose what you want from Menu A, you can mix and match with any items on Combo B and the drinks menu. CONS: — Small Portions — Tasteless Food — Waiter told me I can’t order from the lunch menu even when it’s only 2 minutes before 11am.(Reason? Breakfast cooks don’t make lunch) If you know me, I am pretty tolerant on most things. Service, food quality, etc etc. I am usually one of those people that would eat everything that was served to them on a plate. Unfortunately, Café Xpress is a huge FAIL. Been here several times and I had to struggle to finish my plate every single time. ARGH! Ham & Macaroni Soup — Tasteless, Small Portion Preserved Vegetable Noodle Soup — Overcooked noodle that makes me wanna yack. Rice Noodles & Shumai — Come on… I know I am not at a Chinese dim sum restaurant, but can you buy better quality frozen food? Sadly, I would have to continue coming to this place until I can convince my dad to go to a new breakfast spot.(sigh)…

I’ve been here twice — once for a Friday dinner and once for a Sunday dinner. Mostly chose this place because it’s in Atlantic Square, which I like because it has free parking and a lot of places to explore. Ambiance: loud and echoey, super casual. No one dresses up to come here. Service: Both times I was here, the servers forgot one of our drinks. Tonight, it took forever to get the host’s attention and then a server’s attention. They were busy and full both times, so it’s kind of understandable, but seriously, we tried at least 3 times to flag down someone to take our order before we caught someone’s attention. Plus it takes a pretty long time just to get drinks, most likely because a free drink comes with each meal, so everyone orders a drink. Drinks: No alcohol, but you get to choose from Boba Milk Tea, Thai Iced Tea, English Milk Tea, and some others. This time, on a Sunday night by 8:30pm, they ran out of boba =(So I settled for a Thai Iced Tea, which tasted less fresh and more powdery than other ones I’ve had. Food: Pretty good in general, but nothing amazing. The House Special Chicken came out on the bloody side… my white friend was freaked out by it, and even I was kinda freaked out by how bloody it was. We ate the non-bloody pieces, and it was decent. The Tomato & Beef over Rice was pretty good, but not anywhere near the best I’ve had. Some of the other dishes I tried last time were pretty good or decent, but nothing stands out in my mind. I probably won’t be back for a while…

Their drinks are not sweetened. They told me sugar was on the table. Hm, I guess I just thought milk tea came sweetened. It wasn’t the service, it was just their actual product that I just can’t say was very good. In fact, it just leaves me a bit speechless.

Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience. We were seated at a table on the high-rise part of the restaurant, but then asked to move to a different table to accommodate a larger party. I ordered the chicken and pork chop, my dad had the baked pork chop rice and my mom a noodle dish. The complimentary drinks weren’t great, but it was all right seeing that they were free. Our dishes came with soup, except my mom’s and we had to ask them why she didn’t receive a soup. The waiter kind of stared at us blankly and asked«you want a soup?» … um, yes … Anyway, the food was okay. Not the best, but not the worst either. The service wasn’t too bad seeing that they were pretty busy on a Sunday.

I actually spent the last 8 min trying to find the name of this restaurant since it’s been a couple weeks since my last trek here. And, I’m Unilocaling Café Xpress with an injured wrist– all part of doing my part to fight bad customer service! I’ve been here on two occasions. First visit: Dragged 3 of my relatives here telling them it was a great place because it was brand new. We ordered a noodle dish, fried rice, and baked pork chop over rice. All came with complimentary drinks. Our server forgot several of our orders and the coffee was horrible. The food was average. I asked the waitor if the café had wi-fi. He said yes. Second visit: I returned for said wi-fi. Sat down and said I wanted to see if the wi-fi worked. The guy said, «No, order first.» Hello… isn’t it obvious if I’ve unpacked all my things that I will order something? I said, «I really need to make sure the wi-fi works or else I will need to leave. If I order something first and the wi-fi does not work, can I leave?» I only asked because I had a work assignment due in the next 30 minutes. The waitor/manager responds, «No, order.» This is ridiculous — I get up and leave. If this were a regular restaurant, then it would make sense for the waitor to demand I order right away– but this is a café — and, normally in Asian wi-fi cafes, they are more understanding that we do need to make sure we can connect. Please don’t go here expecting kind service from the manager or assistance with their free wi-fi. Leave leave leave and run to The Hub Café in Walnut or steps next door to Ten Ren– I highly highly recommend either of the two. There’s a reason why BOTH of those businesses have 4 stars.

FALSEADVERTISING! They had a post on their window indicating that you get 10% for being a 24hr fitness member. Clearly I just came from the gym wearing gym attire, workout gloves, and my protein shake. The waitress told me that management would not give me this discount because I did not have my card. First of all, 24hr fitness does not issue cards anymore because they use a fingerprinting system. Second, the waitress was a member and knew that. She said it herself. So, the waitress emphatized with me but could not do anything about it. Finally, was I really trying to fake the funk by wearing gym attire and having protein shakes? I think it is pathetic. Don’t worry. I am warning everyone. HOWLAME. DON’T COMEHERE. THEOWNERSAREGREEDYANDTHEFOODISN’T GREAT. Also, their drink cups leak. FAIL.

Terrible. Came here after watching a movie at the AMC. This modernistic(reminds me of the froyo décor phase) restaurant was almost filled up so it looked like a decent place to eat; oh how wrong I was. First of all, let me tell you that the drinks are complimentary. I’m not sure if there is a rule like one free drink per meal or anything like that, but it didn’t seem like it. And if there is no rule, I can see why they’re complimentary. They. Tasted. Terrible. The bf got a boba milk tea and I got a Thai iced tea. The boba was a weird sticky consistency while the milk tea is one of the worst I’ve ever had. The Thai iced tea tasted funny in that it wasn’t sweet or anything at all. Somewhat bland and just weird. And I don’t know if they give refills, because I couldn’t even force down ¼ of my drink. In my head I’m thinking, «Okay, so the drinks are bad. I guess that’s why they’re free. The food can’t be this bad»; oh how wrong I was #2. First off, the menu is divided into several categories. It’s a little different from your ‘standard’ Asian café in the area; they divide dishes into: Chinese, Asian, Noodle Soup, Pasta, and something else I can’t remember at the moment. They hand the ordering slip of paper to you and allow you to mark whatever you want. We came in for dinner, but we didn’t get a formal menu like in one of the posted pictures. All we got was the piece of paper. Now, onto the actual food. The bf ordered a honey onion pork chop and I got the rib eye steak. Both terrible. The pork chop was dry and the outer parts of the meat were really tough and the onions were near raw. The soup that came with the pork chop was pretty watered down. The rib eye had a bad texture to it; it felt like it was rubbery and what I’d expect from a vegetarian tofu patty. I also ordered the rib eye medium rare but it was definitely on the well-done side of medium. I have two images posted of my steak showing the color as well as texture. Oh, and both dishes came to our table warm or luke-warm. The pork chop came in 5 – 10 minutes of placing our order(the receipt has a printed time). The rib eye took 25 minutes. Terrible food, terrible drinks. Why would you want to come here with so many choices around you? I don’t understand how this place thinks it can compete in the SGV Valley with such bad quality food and drinks. There are so many kings and queens in terms of Asian cafes as well as dozens of high quality milk tea places around(Ten-Ren around the corner in the same plaza). I’m expecting this place to close soon if they don’t get hit with a reality check. I understand that this place is a HK-style«fast food» type joint, but the location for a grab-and-go is a bit piss poor. I wouldn’t want to park in this plaza and walk into the middle area to grab«fast food.»

Lunch on Saturday, 1÷15÷11 I usually walk in without having to wait for a table. The first time I visited, I ordered the Pork Katsu over rice and it was completely bland. The soup that comes with meal is quite bland as well. This time, I ordered the rib-eye steak and spaghetti. Surprisingly, the spaghetti was tastier than I expected. However, I requested the steak to be medium rare but it came out medium done. It was fresh either because my brother ordered the same exact dish and it was perfect. The downside was that the server forgot to bring my brother’s order so it was delivered to our table after everyone else was done eating. The service is inconsistent. The Asian female servers completely ignored refilling my sister’s empty cup of lemon iced tea while asking if my brother would like a refill on his Thai iced tea; they were sitting right next to each other. On the other hand, the non-Asian server was polite and came to our attention every so often. I also ordered the Thai iced tea but my drink was not as creamy as my brother’s so it was a bit too strong. Overall, the food is not that great and the drinks are not made with the consistent amount of ingredients. The only good thing is the refillable drinks if they make it correctly.

I only came to this place because Tasty Garden was packed with people. I am glad that was the case though! I think I actually like this place a lot better than Tasty Garden. Well, first off. Environment= clean and nice Service= friendly and efficient Price= fairly cheap and well worth it Food= GOOD! I had the spaghetti carbonara, which I liked a lot. Really creamy and not a bit too fatty– tasting. I actually managed to finish the whole serving, and they do give you BIG portion. The dish comes with soup and a drink of your choice free of charge! And I believe they have two varieties of soup(one Asian and one Western styled). I also tried the sweet and sour pork and some pumpkin mushroom pot. The thing I like MOST about the food here is they are not oily a bit. This place got some healthy and delicious food at a really good price(: I look forward to coming here again and try more things from their menu.

So I went for lunch one day with my friend MJ after a day of working out, which is rare because I would usually go to Curry house or even Lee’s sandwiches. So one thing I wish they would have is an outside menu, because you have to go inside and look at the menu and if you dont like it I feel like a jerk just leaving. Anyways luckily the friendly greeter convinced us to stay, it seems the staff was really friendly, not sure if they were lonely or generally like that. Either way it was kind of cool. The table and the chairs, have this nice futuristic look to them, I kind of enjoyed the look. I ordered the fried rice lunch special, which for the low price of 6.95 came with an extremely large bowl of fried rice, a soup and boba milk tea. The rice was pretty good I thought, soup wasnt bad. The milk tea was just ok, maybe a bit watered down. The good thing was they gave us refills, so that kind of made up for it. Anyhow I thought this was a pretty good deal and the food was good too.

I went to Café Xpress with my two friends, Eric and Kema. We were originally headed to Tasty Garden but Café Xpress drew us in. It was a new place that we haven’t been to so we figured, why not? Anyways when we arrived there was the hostess that greeted us and had us seated. We had no idea what to order and we asked her for help. She pointed to a salad but we didn’t want to eat that. C’mon we’re in a Asian café! They do serve different types of Asian food, such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean dishes. Crazy but this area is predominately Chinese. We ended up ordering honey onion pork chop, some other beef stew dish and the green beans with minced pork. Each dish comes with a bowl of rice and soup. One note: They’re not big on family style. I guess you’re supposed to order your own individual dish and just eat that. What fun is that? You also get a free drink with your meal. We ordered the lemon iced teas(cold) but there was only one refill per person. They mark your cup to verify you’ve had your refill. I would not mind paying for my drink to get more refills! Service wasn’t too bad. The waiter we had was attentive but they have to do away with the one refill rule. Café Xpress is alright but it didn’t impress me as much. Park underground. Have fun looking for parking as there are a lot of people going to the 24 hour fitness.

Came here for lunch with my bf and my parents… thought i would try this new café out with them =D At first glance it reminded me of this popular chain café that I’ve been to several times in Hong Kong. The interior design was very similar to it. maybe a bit more modern but I think the concept is the same. We were seated in a nice roomy booth and this nice and friendly Mexican lady gave us the menu and took our drink orders. It was really difficult to decide… the menu wasn’t super extensive but it had a wide range of selections. from Chinese dishes to Korean and Japanese — kinda like Baccali Café. The prices are a bit more. maybe $ 1 – 2 more than other cafes for similar dishes. After about 5 minutes our waiter came over to see if we were ready to order but I was indecisive so he suggested I try the Korean Short Rib Bibimbap… so I’m like okay! Korean Short Rib Bibimbap — oOoh la la it was delicious! sizzling short ribs with veggies and rice and combined in a really good sauce on a sizzling bowl/plate. It came with a veggie soup that was a bit salty but it was still definitely a good suggestion. The waiter even came by to ask me if I like it… hehe =D Satay Chicken Chow Fun — oOoh another really good dish. Good portions and for chow fun it’s not really greasy =] Singaporean Vermicelli — not usually a big fan of this dish but it wasn’t super spicy so it was just right for me. again really good portions. Curry Katsu with Hamburger Patty — odd ball choice of my bf’s haha but with this dish the portions didn’t match the price and my bf didn’t really like it that much so i guess not a good selection. OMG good tasting, complimentary, large and refillable Lemon Iced Tea! most places messes up on this simple drink… either too sweet or too bland but not here! they made it just perfect. Overall the food is great… all meals came with soup on the side and served on Japanese style trays… and complimentary drinks in to go cups! The service was superior… well at least my waiter’s services was superior… very nice, came around a few time to ask if we liked the food and got us everything we asked for and started small talk with us. =D my dad gave him a pretty good tip… haha usually we don’t tip Chinese cafes/restaurants that much because usually the service is sucky… but I guess this guy impressed my dad… haha I will surely come back… it could be on my list of favorite Chinese cafes hehe.

Very new and disorganized. the food was tasty. free refills and free drinks! Such as milk tea and lemon ice tea. the cups are in a to go cup and is a large size. english milk tea is very tasty! Beef chow fun needed some sirchaca(sp?) Then that made it more tasty. The sizzling Mongolian beef wasn’t bad either. They give you soup but its like the healthy kind with herbal stuff. Not bad though. The seats are very comfortable! The also have booths. The seating situation was what was unorganized. You walk in and there’s a red rope. And you stand there and wait for the ppl to seat you. Super weird. Then the table next to us waited 45 mins to get their Mongolian beef and ours came out first but another waiter took ours and gave it to them. plenty of parking because its in the new amc/24 hours parking lot.
