Why? Why did we pick this place? It seemed like it would be worth it with the kids, but it was pretty bad. If you want everything on the table to be deep fried out of the freezer, this is your place.

If you’re visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium and looking for a quick bite to eat, this is NOT the place to visit! There are many excellent choices in the area and so please don’t eat here. I was hoping for a quick sandwich; Major mistake! Aside from the cashier being confused on how to operate a cash register, the over-priced food was extremely low quality. We ordered a turkey sandwich and chili cheese fries. Total cost before drink $ 14.98! Please, no tips. Sandwich: I hope you enjoy American Cheese on your plain white(extra thick and dry) bread, with a slice of tomato, onion, ice-berg lettuce, and of course turkey. Nothing special here. I’m pretty sure the turkey came from the grocery store in one of those fridge packs. Overall the sandwich is bland and flavor less. The value of this product to me is $ 3.99. Chili Cheese Fries: What can I say? They take standard french fries(probably fried in some terrible lard product) and splash on some melted cheese and chili. They taste decent. Value to me $ 2.99. Total value of meal $ 7.00. Even this seems overpriced. The 12″ at Subway is only $ 5.00 and is significantly higher quality. I won’t even compare this establishment to Specialties.

I was completely shocked by the quality of this hole in the wall place. We were looking around for a place to grab a quick bite to eat before heading into the aquarium for the day. The clam chowder was actually the best we tasted during this entire trip! Huge chunks of chewy fresh clams. Plenty of potatoes that were soft and cooked perfectly. Yum!!!
