Started off the night here with a Long Island Iced Tea. The bartender was courteous and funny as well. Needless to say it was a great start to the night. No pretentiousness here. If you want a nice bar to chat with a friend, this is the place to hit up.

Not a fan of this place either. No credit cards. No outside space. The inside feels very stuffy like your great-grandmother’s house that hasn’t had the windows opened in years and the old female bartender when I was there was quite rude.

This bar is hidden on Honolulu. Blink and you will miss it so keep an eye out. It’s a total dive, but always so much fun. The bar tenders are cool and there is always a diverse group in there hanging out. There are two pool tables, music, and some arcade game… I think pac man? I’ve never played so I’m not sure, just briefly saw it walking by. Friday afternoons around 4ish there is a raffle where you get a bunch of tickets for $ 5.00 and later on in the night around 6:30−7 they pick a # and the person who wins gets half of the money collected and the other half goes to wounded warriors. Then they order pizza and if you entered the raffle you get a slice. Totally random but fun to do if you happen to be in there.

To bad the old man(owner) doesn’t accept credit cards at this bar! Otherwise the place is pretty awesome, drinks are great, prices are decent, pool tables, and if your short on cash there is allot of cash money pinned up on the low ceiling to be used.

Best dive bar around! Friendly staff and regulars and they carry my favorite two beers from Hangar 24, Betty IPA and Orange Wheat!

Definitely a dive but it has two pool tables, a dartboard and a jukebox. A game of pool is $ 1. The place has an interesting smell, only takes cash and the kitchen is closed… All that being said it is never crowded and the bartenders are great and friendly. This is a good place to go have a drink and catch up with a friend without having to wait for a table or yell over the music. I would give it more starts as I always enjoy myself here but it could use a make over in a lot of ways.

Updating my review because after a few years away, I’ve given Avignones another chance. Friendly bartenders and I’m a fan of the hole in the wall atmosphere here. Cheap drinks! Always nice to slip away and play a game of pool every now and then.

I’m very picky when it comes to bars and I’m definitely a Dive Bar kind Guy, So when I bumped into Avignone’s years back, I knew I had to keep it a secret cause I didn’t want certain Douche Bags I know making it their hang out… Now I can’t stop other Douche Bags from coming in and being all loud n’ playing bad music on the juke box(modern Hip hop or any modern top 40 crap) but they stay for an hour or two then they’re off like a dirty smelly sock, Thank God! When you come to a place like this, you wanna get away from the outside world to relax, maybe have good conversation or maybe just get a drink on your own… it also helps when the place has a cool bartender(Dave)… first time I brought my good friend, Sinatra was playing loud on the speakers and I was in Heaven… this aint no pick up bar, Sally and this aint no Douche Bag Hip Club like Bar either! it’s Dark, Dingy & it’s OLDSCHOOL Baby… and I’ll be drinking a Rum n’ Coke at the bar with my head on the bar enjoying one of the last Great getaways for a Gentleman or a Gentlelady. Cheers!

Dive bar heaven. Pool table. Cash only. Cheap decent drinks. Music. Not live music, just music. Come as you are. Bring cash. No mixology here, thank goodness. Have fun!

A local bar where the bartender knows the regulars. Yes, it is a dive bar, but in the day and age of $ 20 cocktails with weird names, a $ 5 Jack and Coke with a generous pour is really refreshing. Go on a Saturday or Sunday night when Mark is at the bar and if he is the one who put the play list in the juke box you are sure to have fun time. But remember, this is a cash only bar(check out the antique cash register while you are there).

Usually an older crowd and make sure you bring cash. If you aren’t thrown off after the first ten minutes, then you will love this place. Drinks are actually reasonably priced, like up th hill. I usually come here with just a couple of friends or my brother in law. I really like this spot and tend to find it easy to get on the pool table. Don’t just walk by this place. Check it out, you’ll be surprised! Tip: no beers on draft. If you’re looking for that, it’s not your spot. I like the large size new castles when I’m here!

This place is always fun. I love the pool tables here, you can always find some one to play with if you come alone. The atmosphere has always been comfortable, and I’ve never been disappointed with my drinks. Don’t park on the street with the meters. Park in the back parking lot for free, there’s a back entrance to the bar.

This place is fine but over rated in the«dive bar» department. Drinks are average price, no ridiculous happy hour or specials, the patrons are locals not the crazy characters I like at a dive. You can do better but if you want a quiet atmosphere this is your place in this area. Cash only.

Awesome local bar. Stiff drinks, good prices, great jukebox, pool tables, familiar faces. Cash only. Enough said.

Love love this bar ! Yes it is a cash only dive bar, but that’s my favorite part. It’s simple. Not over crowded, annoyingly trendy, or full of people trying to impress you. This is the kind of place you can wear heels or a sweatshirt and fit right in. My friends call it Cheers.“where everybody knows your name«Its an old neighborhood bar in the heart of Montrose. The locals are friendly and its easy to feel right at home. The bartenders are personable and pour a stiff drink for a good price. Kim is the very best! We love the new juke box, pool tables, darts and huge round booths. Dollar bills cover the ceiling over the bar with all different messages written on them and the girls bathroom usually turns into our photo booth at the end of the night. The bar itself has a genuinely laid back casual atmosphere. There’s always someone friendly to talk to at the bar if your bored and no one bothers you when you want to drink alone. I have celebrated mine and all my friends birthdays here for the last 4 years, as well as our thursday and Friday nights. It’s my go-to for a fun carefree night.

It’s a small, divey joint with mostly older locals. There are pool tables and a jukebox. Cash only, cheap drinks though.

I’m in shock that I haven’t written a review for Avignone’s yet. Embarassing, because I LOVETHISBAR… it’s one of those places where you don’t have to give a rat’s @$$ about how you look, because honestly nobody gives a sh*t. It’s a hole in the wall bar that’s decorated with cheesy(but i love them) jumbo christmas lights, old red leather booths, and a restroom that hasn’t been updated since Reagan was in office. BUT you come here for the cheap drinks($ 3 – 5 a drink), dive bar atmosphere, juke box/pool tables, and bring good company. It’s definitely a local’s hangout and I absolutely love it. Kim is a really sweet and personable bartender and you can tell she’s been at this place for a while because she knows EVERYBODY. Whether you’re here to get a night cap alone, with a group of friends, or whether you’re here to get MESSEDUP, it doesn’t matter. It’ll be a good time if you’re in good company. Side note: CASHONLY, but there’s a chase and a BoA across the street so it’s not really a big deal.

This is what a neighborhood bar should aspire to be. Great pours and dark inside. Nice people on both sides of the bar.
