We went here on my birthday and I was looking forward to it but we didn’t love it. We used a birthday coupon for a free appetizer(which is very generous and we appreciated it) but our server never asked if it was my birthday, and that felt like kind of a bummer. She was very rushed and didn’t check in much and seemed very stressed even though she said it was usually busier at 5:00 on a Friday. She even grabbed the check without making eye contact or checking in. That put a damper on things a little bit– I think the interaction with a server can really make or break a meal. Our food was ok but a little disappointing. There were a couple of errors with our food and my husband ordered a steak medium well and it was much closer to rare but by the time someone asked if it was cooked ok it felt too late. My water and Coke were never refilled(but when we had paid our bill the server finally came back and asked if I wanted another one– it was a little late). Two managers came by and they were nicer. It was extremely loud and it was hard to talk. I can see why people love the place but maybe it’s just not for us.

Okay, I tried the ribs. Yep, they fall off the bone as expected. Great sauce, I always ask for extra on the side. I also upgraded from sirloin to ribeye on another visit, and I liked the ribeye much better(but that’s all ribeyes in general for me). I will be a repeat customer for sure.

My husband and I have been visiting regularly once per week as my daughter has a late sports practice nearby. Usually, it’s very reliable – good service, good food, friendly ambiance. Tonight though was really disappointing. We sat in the bar and there was a kinda obnoxious fellow, who might have had one too many. Very loud and not as funny as he thought he was. Our bartender almost made me a dirty martini with Jim Beam(luckily we averted that small disaster) and my chicken came out a tad too pink for my taste. The chicken was replaced but it took a while and I wasn’t terribly hungry when it reappeared. Also, the manager who brought me the second plate pretty much told me that I was wrong and that the chicken temperature was ok. Whatever… I declined the offer of an additional side. I think next week we’ll branch out to another Monument area resto. Any suggestions Unilocalers?

OK — so the food is always good — very consistent with the Texas Road House quality. Our server(we try to always request him) Austin, is fantastic. However, all of our servers have been energetic and very in tune with our table. INADDITIONTOTHEFOOD — Texas Road House is a TERRIFIC supporter of our public schools here in D 38. It may be a chain restaurant, but it is a part of our community!

We went here on a whim last night, and were pleasantly surprised. Having lived in Texas off and on for a very long period of time, the aesthetic was relatively Texan. The menu also was good(lacking brisket, but oh well), and Mondays are Kids’ Night, so all kid appetizers are $.99 or $ 1.99 depending on what you choose. That’s a hell of a deal! Pros: We were seated right away, the service was prompt and friendly, and they bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. The ribs were decent, fried pickles were tasty, and the kids were all happy with their food. The sides were good as well, especially the green beans(mmmm bacon). Cons: THEYPUTBEANSINTHEIRCHILI. This will get you ridden out of town on a rail in Texas. That’s like opening a halal deli and serving matzos with a pork chop on them. No Texan will acknowledge anything with beans in it as chili. If you entered that into a chili contest they would refuse it, saying it was NOT chili. Just on the chili you cats need to get your act together and trash the beans. Also, the place desperately needed a sweeping, and our table was still sticky when we sat down. We’ll go back, especially for kids’ night. That’s just too good a deal to pass up for the amount of food they serve. But wow you guys: it’s a TEXAS Roadhouse, and there’s BEANS in your chili.

Very disappointing. When you specialize in steak, you should cook it correctly. To start off with, the rolls were as hard as a brick. Our medium fillet was raw. Our medium tenderloin was well done. The brown sugar that goes with the sweet potatoes was old. We were one of five families in the restaurant, and the waiter told us, «since it’s not that busy, they probably aren’t paying that much attention in the kitchen.» A expensive dinner for a lot of disappointment. Will not be returning.

Good service and excellent food! While the wait was longer that what we were told, we had an excellent waiter that kept the food coming. The appetizer combo was ridiculously small but other than that, salads tasted fresh, steaks were perfectly cooked(even though no size difference between the 6oz and the 8 oz) and side dishes were well prepared and a good Texas side.

One of our favorite restaurants in Monument. Obviously, it is a chain and doesn’t have it’s own unique personality. However, if you are looking for very good food and good service at an affordable price… Texas Roadhouse is it. We love to take our family of 6 to TR on Monday for Kids Night. Great Value!

We were very pleased with our food and service. Steak in my salad was lean and delicious. Dining partner was very pleased with his steak, as well. Manager checked on it’s, too ensure that we were pleased with our food and service. No complaints.

Special occasion place to be! I’ve never had a bad dish at any of these restaurants –from Colorado Springs, CO to Fayetteville, NC! Our favorite dish is the sirloin with sautéed mushrooms, house salad/blue cheese dressing and steamed veggies. Daughters initially loved the chicken plates but now have mooved over to beef-sorry, I had to! Great for surprise guests from out of town, celebrations or just because you don’t want to cook tonight. I would never complain, ever, at all!

I decided the best place to get a great burger would be to go to a steak place. Boy, was I wrong! I ordered the fried pickles, one burger and one cheeseburger to go. Before leaving with the order, I double-checked with the server that one of the burgers did not have cheese.(My husband cannot have dairy.). Both burgers had cheese and instead of med-rare, were burned to a crisp. The bottom bun was so soggy, it fell apart when I took it out of the container. I only live 10 minutes from the restaurant. I suspect the order probably sat while waiting for either the sides or the pickles. I waited 35 minutes after ordering before receiving the food. Never again! We threw away the burgers and made sandwiches for dinner.

Eh, pretty poor service for a restaurant that’s always busy. The food was good as always. Our server simply vanished once our meal came out. We could have used drink refills throughout our meal, and some other odds and ends. Plus the legendary bread never came, well not until our server showed up at the end of our meal and we asked for it(of course she blamed the hostesses for not delivering it). The poor service really threw off our experience. Not the best first impression for our guests who’ve never been to a Texas Roadhouse before.

Sorry, but their are much better places to go for dinner near Monument for the same money. This location must have trouble with cooks who understand what rare, med, med well and well done is. I want med well and the blood was still running after sending steak back twice, I just asked server to buy the meal and we left after enjoying the rolls and peanuts. Ruined a nice night out with the wife.

Texas Road House is always the same great food every time I go. Love the steaks, beef tips and chicken fried steak. Best thing about the place is being able to take the kids in and eat peanuts and then throw the shells on the floor. Yet to have a bad experience.

Great steaks and sides. Always seem to have special deals, especially for kids. Great for special occasions when you want great food and keep it casual.

Rating the food should probably be separate from the place itself. The place: Well, you know going in it’s going to be staffed by people in their teens and early 20’s supposedly to keep things«fresh». Not a knock against Roadhouse, just an observation. They are very friendly but after you go a few times, you sort of get tired of the fact that every server has to recite the same exact greeting, «Have you been here before? Have you tried are ‘legendary’ rolls?» The food: Everything is apparently ‘legendary’. I once had baked chicken that still had blood coming out of it. The on-duty supervisor said that it’s sometimes just a «vein» that has some blood in it. Huh? That said, they did make it right but you know, you could be at home hurling for the next 2 – 3 days with something like that. Overall it’s okay in an area that doesn’t have much. People who think it’s «great» must not have been out in the world much i.e., they grew up on TV dinners and this is like a special occasion for them to go to Texas Roadhouse.

Why the hell am rating Texas road house, you ask? It’s one of the few chain restaurants I’ll occasionally stumble into if I have no other option whatsoever. The food is decent, service decent, experience decent

Great juicy steaks. Very loud so bring your rowdy kids and you will fit right in. Free peanuts to keep the kids occupied and great service.
