Papa Hartley gave us the low down on this spot so I had to try it! Excellent All-You-Can-Eat! I literally ate all I can eat & the price was right! Most places these days that have a dinner All-You-Can-Eat are over $ 30, my check was below $ 30. Considering everything I ate including Oysters, Dynamite, Green Muscles, Shrimp Tempura & copious amounts of sushi it was soooo worth it. They had a great selection of Specialty Rolls & their portions are generously perfect. Thank goodness I had someone with me who had dined here before… I did not quite understand the Round 1, Round 2& Round 3 but quickly learned & passed on the 3rd Round of oysters. Sacrilegious I know. Service could have been a tad better but isn’t that always the case with most restaurants? Just so long as they are polite & refill my beverage I’m content. Definitely coming back! TAKE2! ***See what I did there? :)

My go to SUSHI restaurant which always has great quality fresh fish! Yes they’re known for their«all you can eat» sushi lunch and/or dinner; but ‘TAKESUSHI’ really is the very best in my neighborhood local sushi bar!!! Yes I have tried the 2 other local sushi bar locations & Ive nothing bad to say about the other 2 local sushi bars(I give them 3−4stars) but this«TAKESUSHI» gets 5 stars hands-down every time and I’ve been there about 10 times in 5 months! Quality fresh fish at a reasonable price; compared to Hollywood/and Little Tokyo sushi bars where u spend $ 50 – 75 Per person minimum not including alcohol to «kinda full… lol» they used to have sake and beer discounted prices included w/all you can eat sushi but they’ve change that;(yet. still it’s all about the quality of the food that they are serving, so who cares if I’m paying double for a hot sake and/or bottle of Japanese beer that I used to pay less for on my first 3 visits in January & Feb of 2016. I don’t come here for the alcohol, I come here for the excellent quality of sushi. FYI; I love the older sushi chef towards the back end of the sushi bar! Hint hint; when you walk in(try to have this man be ur sushi chef) I absolutely love him & he cracks me up every time I order my albacore tuna sushi, yes I receive fabulous fresh albacore tuna but then he has been also feeding me; this fabulous fresh«Hawaiian tuna» …which I have to admit I actually love & I’m a snob when it comes to different types of tuna!!!

Absolutely delicious! Possibly my new favorite sushi place. **all you can eat** is a must for only $ 20.95 it’s a steal!(11:30am-3pm) M-F. Okay here we go! Moorpark Roll(12.95) 5 stars* best roll all day. Spicy crab, with sashimi white tuna outer layer. In N out roll(12.95) 4 stars* basic crabmeat with shrimp over layer. Greet pick overall. Take crunch roll(12.95) 3.5 stars* maybe I’m full already lol but not much flavor. Avocado and spicy crabmeat. Oysters(8.95) 5 stars* wow is that’s amazing, can’t beat that anywhere! Will be returning soon guys! Thanks to such a friendly and welcoming staff!

Going to keep this short. We drove almost an hour to come to this place, the food was exceptional but the service far from. The employees were rude and and wouldn’t make eye contact with us or give the slightest smile. Then when I waived at the waiter to get his attention so we could get the check he just stared at me and after a minute told the waitress then she proceeded to say«they probably just want refills on their water». Yes we were drinking water, but not because we were too poor to buy drinks it was because we had been in the sun the entire day. I normally have no problem paying for a quality meal but paying $ 95 for 3 people and having terrible service made it quite difficult.

So I’ve been here before and it was pretty good so I decided to bring a friend of mine here to try it out. First off, there was only one waitress and the place was packed. My oysters were full of sand, so I didn’t eat them. My friend ordered teriyaki chicken that was so bland that she spit it out. Then she found a hair in her baby lobster roll. The whole experience was disgusting. And the waitress couldn’t have cared less. Never got wager refills, had to ask for plates, napkins and wasabi. She simply didn’t care. But was more than helpful when some regulars came in. Never going back. Ever.

Went back to this“used to be my favorite AYCE sushi place”. It’s still not the same as the good old time, especially the variety is much limited. However, it definitely is making a comeback, in term of values and quality.

Take is our latest local go-to spot. The staff is great and their service is quick. The place is clean and prices are reasonable. AYCE covers the whole menu! So many great choices! Appetizers, nigiri, hand rolls, soups, salads, a wide variety of specialty rolls including ones w/no rice! And to top it off dessert too! They get their fish daily and the quality is on point. So fresh and delicious! Did I mention $ 1 beers??? Yes! All day, every day small bottles or Asahi or Hite beer for only $ 1! But wait! There’s MORE! $ 1 refills on sake! Chef Thomas is awesome! He’s been a sushi chef for 23 years. His passion shows in his works of art. He makes great recommendations and even throws in some special complimentary plates of deliciouness. He’s personable and entertaining. Definitely makes for a great overall experience.

You definitely get your money’s worth. The portions are large & in charge with plenty of no rice rolls that are super flavorful. I prefer smaller portions, so that’s the only reason I gave 3 stars. If you like large portions then this is definitely the place for you.

I came to eat here for the first time with my sister because I’ve never had all you can eat sushi before. The food here is pretty good. We ordered a few orders of yellowtail and salmon and a few hand rolls. The nigiri sushi was very fresh tasting for AYCE. My sister really enjoyed the salmon handrolls and shrimp tempura roll. I had the spider handroll and shrimp tempura handroll which were both very standard. The crispy rice here is actually pretty good compared to the other places I have tried. Out of everything we ordered, I believe that I didn’t like one of the rolls which I do not remember the name. I had to force myself to finish it because if you don’t finish what you order they charge you full price for that item which is a shame. It had tempura eel and spicy tuna I believe but the batter used for the tempura eel was too thick and the texture was mushy. Overall, we ended up both eating a total of $ 130 but thank goodness for AYCE lunch price it ended up being a total of $ 45. You get to order food a total of 3 times and they don’t let you order more until you are almost done with your current set of orders. The server seemed new, and forgot to put in a few of the things we ordered but that’s ok because we were stuffed by the end of the meal, as you should be. As for quality, this place has pretty decent quality for being AYCE. I don’t really eat tuna so I don’t have to worry about the artificial tuna color, but everything I ate didn’t have the old fishy taste, and still tasted fresh, as it should be! We came in with a game plan and we conquered! We got the most out of our money but regretted it shortly after as we were falling into a deep food coma. Quality Sushi + Quantity! That’s hard to find!

I have to say that this place has really turned itself around. The portions are not huge anymore and the fish tastes way better. They have so many more options you can choose from now and the menu looks great. As you can see from my pictures they have really stepped up with the quality and I will definitely be coming back.

Although I rated Take sushi 4-star, I really consider it a 3.5. Let me tell you why – I think the food here is fantastic and the menu is huge. I think it’s well priced and the sashimi is fresh. I get a lot more sushi/sashimi than rolls(they are too big), but the sushi portion is generous and tasty. The reason I give Take a 3.5 is due to slow service. On many occasions, the service has been drawn out and tedious. It’s a pain to ask for items and a hassle to ask for, and wait for refills. As a whole, I think Take sushi is an awesome sushi place if you have a few hours to sit down and pig out. Make sure you’re not in a rush, though, because it can be slow!

I love how unique their rolls are. For an all you can eat sushi spot, you can’t beat the price or quality! The sushi is always fresh and they give you decent portion sizes. They have rolls without rice so you can stay eating healthy and still enjoy the regular price without paying for sashimi. I would love to give them 5 stars but unfortunately they lack in 2 areas — their staff and amount of alcohol. When I go for lunch on my break at work I have to make sure I have at least 2 hours to eat. They don’t give you your sushi until almost everything on your list is ready. It’s hard to get a refill or your bill but at least they’re nice and give ice cream at the end. I ordered a glass of wine once and it seriously was about 2 ounces(not worth the price). But for the quality of the fish and the great price of all you can eat sushi — I’m hooked!

Everything we ordered was so yummy to the max! And the variety this place offers isn’t so bad at all. The baked muscles were my fave on the appetizers. The EX-Girlfriend Roll with Soy paper was another one of my favorites! In all honesty it’s hard to choose a favorite. Because literally everything we ordered was delicious! If ever you are in this Area DON’T MISSOUT! On this amazing Sushi spot.

My first time dining here & I was surprised how large their all-you-can-eat menu is! also, their regular menu is also the ayce menu as well. Usually some ayce places taste«cheap» but their sushi does not disappoint! It was also a surprise to me, how little rice they put for the sushi, which is another plus! they have a handful of rolls w/o rice! Which blew my mind! The Sashimi nacho roll was one of my favorites! Spicy pork. Was okay. Ex-boyfriend roll, wasn’t what I expected? Spider roll, a little bland. Lobster popcorn roll(I think) was really flavorful! They also have seaweed salad, which isn’t on the menu at all. So just ask for it! :) It was disappointing that they didn’t have uni at the time that we visited! but it’s okay, I plan on returning soon & recommending this place! ALSO! if you’re a regular. They give you, your own personal chopsticks & a little cubby, for your next return! I am going to try working my way up as a regular! :)!!

This place is legitimate AYCE sushi. Small rice portions, large cuts of sushi. Pretty fresh and well marbled cuts of salmon. Pretty good cuts of tuna, yellowtail, albacore, unagi, halibut, and decent uni. Rolls are pretty good as well. Although the cuts are of the whole fish, top and bottom ends as well, it still does the job for good all you can eat quality. But I’m most impressed by the service. Wonderful owner with very quick and hospitable service. Thank you! Delicious desserts too.(Also Ty for the .99 cent beer special and the delicious tempura and kochi ice creams. Yum!) For a customer’s birthday, the chefs played some intense music and created a very celebratory atmosphere with free mochi ice cream. :)
