If the sushi wasn’t as good as it was I’d give 1 start due to lack of customer service. Came with wife on a sushi date and unexpectedly walked into a packed house due to a neighboring establishment experiencing a major issue resulting in a full house so I decided to get order to go, horrible decision! Hostess told me 25mins. for order, sounded fine unknowing she meant when we get around to it. Fail! I ordered dragon roll, hanami roll, and a Cali special which to me seems reasonable for a nice sushi experience. I saw customers come in seated, served and pay for bill while my wife and I began getting ancy due to the time we were told for our order to be prepared. After 50 mins or for was ready and I was kinda over the whole sushi thing by the time I got my order, sad to Unilocal. Sushi was really good but the whole 25 mins turning into 50mins. did not fancy me in the slightest, ruined our plans for the evening and when a customer is not prioritized it SUUUUUUUCKS. I’ll return and may have a better experience but this trip was a total FAIIIIIIIIIIL

Ok place for Japanese food. My husband’s co-workers wanted Asian food and rice, so we went to Hanami Sushi. We ordered the sashimi platter and it was okay. Fish quality could have been better. Menu has the bento and sushi roll which were popular options. Plenty of parking available in the shopping area complex.

Fresh and delicious every time. Our office moved to Morgan Hill a year ago and I’ve gone here about once a week since the move. Great service, wonderful food and fair prices. Dine in or take out, it is consistently good and convenient. I’ve only had the rolls and the sashimi so I can’t rate the whole menu but what I have tried has always been excellent.

Solid place! We happened to walk in here when Vietasia told us it would be a 20 Minute wait and we are glad we did. The roll we got was delicious. Udon broth was just what the doctor ordered(delicious and comforting) taking soba was perfect for our little one. Chicken teriyaki was great too. Service was prompt and the server was nice. We were welcomed and greeted instantly. The place was clean. We will definitely be regulars here!

I used to live around the corner from here and me and my girlfriend would walk over and eat there all the time. We have since moved to San Jose but still come down to eat there! Janet is super nice and always greets us with a smile. The food is great and at a great price.

Hands down better than CreAsian or any other local sushi. My favorite sushi restaurant around and I’ve been going regularly for 5+ years now. Can’t recommend more highly. Great prices, food, atmosphere and service. Staff are super friendly and the food is consistently stellar as well as the clean, welcoming surroundings. Get the spicy josh roll or the off menu baked salmon nigiri.

This place is usually great but this time that I came to eat, I was not satisfied this time. They started out really great but now it’s just gotten a little bad.

Cannot believe I haven’t reviewed this place before now! It is one of our favorite sushi places… we just have to work harder to coordinate their open hours to our schedule because it is a bit of a drive. The food is wonderful & the staff even more wonderful! The prices are perfect. The food is fresh & well made. One of our favorite rolls is the lemon roll with actual thin slices of lemon on top… YUM! Also the only place I will order a salmon skin hand roll because I KNOW I like its taste & the way it’s made. Whenever asked we tell everyone this is our favorite sushi joint!

I went again and sadly, the quality wasn’t nearly as good as my first time with the bento box. I even got a little sick in the stomach. Sorry, I’m not coming back, as there are far too many good sushi/tempura/teriyaki places in the bay area.

The food came out fast which was nice. My husband and I were passing through on our honeymoon and were craving sushi. The roll he got fell apart pretty easily and my sushi rice was on the mushy side. But the staff was very welcoming and the atmosphere was nice.

We went to lunch for my hubby’s birthday. The food was good. I was upset when I found a small black hair in my roll and the waitress didn’t say sorry, ask the food preparers to wear hair nets, and/or offer a discount of some kind. She acted as if it where a no big deal thing that happens all the time and what’s to be grossed out about. Not going back.

This little gem is totally unexpected. The rolls were fresh and so yummy. Our favorites were the Spicy Josh Roll and Green Monster Roll. Great flavors with tasty seafood and interesting sauces. The tempura was very good as well. We will for sure come back here for more sushi. I only ask that they put nigori sake on their menu since it is my favorite.

I came in with low expectations, but was impressed. I ordered some nigiri, salmon, yellow tail and tuna with a jalapeño roll. The roll was okay, I’d recommend asking for light cream cheese. Clean, friendly staff, I’d recommend visiting.

Came here last night for dinner on a couple of recommendations. It was very good! Started with miso soul. It was really pretty bland to be honest… Could have been a bit more flavorful. Though it’s not why I didn’t give the place a fifth star. The rolls were great! The Spicy Josh is very good. Lots of layers of flavors. And spicy!!! The Atlantic was also excellent. Spicy Tuna Rolls were really good. Packed with generous amounts of tuna. Now for why it’s only four stars. We ordered a couple orders of Salmon Sashimi. It looked great, and tasted good. It would have been better if it was not partially FROZEN! It wasn’t frozen solid by any means, but was not completely thawed either… a bit off-putting. So they lose a star. Overall, I’d definitely go back.

Been here for lunch twice. First time I had the bento combo with salmon. Pretty good but always not enough food for me for price. Second time, I had to try the curry and rice. I am a big fan of Japanese curry. It was good, the correct amount of thickness to the sauce. Need to ask for it to be spicy next time. I love the panko breading on their katsu. Very thin and crispy. Fried the correct amount.

Fantastic, fresh seafood served in a clean environment by friendly staff. Sounds simple, but is very well done. Three massive plates of assorted sushi and sashimi — all of it was incredibly fresh and really tasty. Kids loved the chicken teriyaki and tempura, and our large group left very happy.

Well, it’s a Wednesday evening and about 5:30. Not many people yet, but I’m waiting for the rush to begin at any minute. This place has been getting some pretty rave reviews on Unilocal,so I popped in to give it a try. I have to admit, I was feeling a little lazy tonight and just wanted to «graze» from the mote. First surprise… no more mote :-/Dang, now I’m going to have to order from the guys at the bar. Second surprise… the guys at the bar have NOTHING to do with you… so, I placed my order with the waitress and waited. I ordered the sashimi combo dinner with salad and miso and a sunomono with hot tea. I have to admit that when I ordered the prices seemed pretty darned good… Third surprise. … I got my order & discovered I paid pretty handsomely for the amount served & total absence and lack of even any pretense of ambience or flare :-/ I have to admit, the place was clean & «plenty» of room at the bar. OK…here’s what I expect, when I visit a sushi bar.: 1) A friendly greeting(didn’t get one here) 2) Eye contact and a little interaction with the guys behind the bar(didn’t get that here) 3) Recommendations… you know, like what’s new or their special experiment of the evening(Nope…Not here) 4) Fresh, clear/shiny, great NON smelly fish…(Nope…Not here) Got home and had to wash my hands & brush my teeth… not a good sign:-/ 5) Other people, having a good time…(Nope. Not here) I have to admit, I’ve had many great times in sushi bars that are not going to be matched every time… Hell, I’ve had sushi chefs throw fish in my mouth if i’d bark like a seal or start oyster shooter wars(love those) just to get the bar hopping…(NOPE…Not here) So, 45 minutes and $ 60.00 later, I slid ever so peacefully back to my car… kicking myself for missing a better opportunity someplace else :-/ When I left I noticed that the place was about ½ full… no one else at the bar & pretty dang quiet. That is when the thought came to me… WHY!!! In the name of sanity would ANYBODY rave about this place… WHY, the five star ratings? I gave this place a try because of those ratings. For those of you who rave up this place… please stay there… I don’t want you killing the good spots! For anyone else who reads these reviews, looking for suggestions… I swear to you, even in the small town of Morgan Hill, you have VASTLY better sushi bars to try… not to mention surrounding areas. Well, the night is still young… maybe i have time to hunt down some of those 5 star ravers and give their addresses to the Jahovah Witnesses for weekly visitations :-D

This restaurant is located in a nondescript strip mall. The deco is functional and clean. however their forte is in their food and service. Janet run a tight and efficient shift. She seemed to know all her customers by name and even those she does’t know, she will treat them like regulars. Their sushi seemed to be fresh even on Mondays! My GF ordered the Chirashi and it came loaded with fresh fish and more than enough yummy rice that she had enough for dinner and lunch the next day! I ordered their Nabayaki udon and it came piping hot, just the way I like it, and it was as good as I’ve had. Yes this seemed like the run of the mill Japanese restaurant, but they do go over and beyond with their service.
