the food was fresh and tasty, service was very good, especially considering how busy they were the night we visited.

Meh. Number 3 sushi place in town. My kids like it more than I do but all they get is rice, lol.

Salmon, hamachi, unagi, hirame sashimi: very fresh. Melts in my mouth. Grilled salmon: tasty sauce, cooked just right. I couldn’t be more pleased. Would have come here every week if I lived closer.

This place has very weird hours 11:30am-2:30pm then a gap and then from 5pm-9pm. The first time I went wasn’t pleased the sushi had no taste and the chicken wasn’t very good, came back a second time to see if i would have better luck not the case. One thing I did like was the server her name was Olivia. Other then that wouldn’t go back and won’t recommend it. Gilroy has better places that are worth the drive.

My entire family loves this place and we eat there once a week. California rolls, 49er rolls, bento box chicken for my kid, little bomb rolls. All these and more are so good. Great service and great quality food for the money. Best sushi in Morgan Hill.

Enjoyed the place and their chefs creations which I asked for as per usual… when they stuck to their hours on the door… However don’t go out of your way to come here cuz their hours on the door are BS… they open and close at their discretion… Not their Business Schedule which they post to the public on their front door. Not a Good Way to Earn Peoples Business…

I was in Morgan Hill again and was hungering for sushi. It had been almost 6 months since my last mistake of coming here. I must just be a poor victim of habit. Food quality and portion size is way out of proportion for cost. Something just isn’t right. I think lack of competition has this place playing supply/demand game rather than quality and repeat business. I think my second chance was a fail for them and myself :(

I love Sushi Nara — easy to call ahead and order take out. I only get california rolls or a bento box with the teryaki chicken so I can’t vouch for the real sushi but what I order is always delicious. Have never been disappointed.

Ordered the salmon teriyaki it was ROTTEN… Spoiled…They should check their food… They did not seem overly concerned the food was spoiled either… And they seem to think I should be happy they took it off our bill!!! Take your chances here… I will not be going back…

This is our favorite local Japanese sushi Restaurant. The ingredients are very fresh and the service is ALWAYS awesome! My husband is a Japanese food snob, he spent several years in Japan during his military years. Our favorite is Don’s Special Roll and the 49er Roll! The building is large and plenty of roomy seating!

Excellent! Excellent service, food and prices. Makes me wonder if this place has any affiliation with Ninja Sushi in Gilroy because one of the sushi chefs looks like a co-owner of Ninja. I wouldn’t be surprised if he did branch out… It was a quiet night and noticed a lot of phone orders being placed so I’m sure they do get busy. The atmosphere was welcoming, the décor is modern and very clean! The food: Nigiri: Sake(salmon) was so fresh tasting! It was a generous slice, so definitely a double biter. The Unagi had so much flavor and just melted in my mouth. The Red Dragon had shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber — inside and tuna with a spicy mayo on the outside. Lots of flavor and textures and the tempura didn’t loose it’s crunch. My husband ordered a Dragon Roll and a Victoria Secret roll(go-figure). Looked amazing but did not try. The Victoria Secret roll was topped with yellow tail or hamachi and macadamia nuts. He thoroughly enjoyed his picks. All in all, a nice dinner experience and happy to know Morgan Hill has a bigger sushi restaurant unlike Creasian.

I live so close to Sushi Nara but refused to check them out because of bad Unilocal.Tonight we were looking into having dinner close to the house and the Hubs suggested we should give this place a shot. I was surprised to see that they have recovered to 4 stars status. I am a big fan of Hanami Sushi, been going there for many years and I felt I was cheating on the owner, Janet while walking in to this establishment. The place looked clean, open, and pretty full with patrons. We got seated right away and was shortly greeted by a young server(Jane). We asked her to give us a few minutes while we peruse through the menu since it is our first time. We asked for tea and was quite surprised to see sediments of green tea on the bottom of the cup… wish they had filtered it before serving it to their patrons. We decided on the spider rolls, white spider rolls, dinner bento box with chix teriyaki and tempura, and a few orders of maguro, hamachi, and fresh sake. Everything came quickly and everything were pretty good. Both the Hubs and I were delighted to see the big pieces of raw fish on top of the sushi rice. The sushi grade fish tasted very fresh. The rolls were on point. The teriyaki was good but not great. As much as I would like to give this resto 5 stars for the food, I have to hold off because of service. Jane started out pretty good but towards the last half of our dining experience the service became lackluster. She was sweet but not attentive. We asked for tea refill twice and it never came. We had another server get it for us for the 3rd time. When she finally brought the tea we asked for the check… that took a while too(mind u the place wasn’t packed) and had to asked for it twice! And as I write this review I just realized that my bento box meal was suppose to come with miso soup… which I never got! Not sure if she’s new but she needs to up her game quickly. Overall I’m quite happy with my first time experience… kinda glad we waited this long but quite disappointed for the service we got. All 4 stars are based on the food we had.

Great service and even better Sushi! Don and the rest of the crew are great, friendly and truly know their sushi. I have been here dozens of times and I always leave with a smile on my face and a belly full of goodness. I think I have tried every roll on the menu and none has disappointed. My Wife and Kids love this place as well, My son devours his chicken teriyaki bento box and My Wife cant miss with the Salmon and Tempura. I personally enjoy the Ono and any of their rolls, my go to rolls are the Dragon Roll, Victorias Secret and Don’s Special Roll. I drive an hour to get to this place and yes its that good, especially when the service is great and the Food is excellent.

This is now my favorite sushi place in Morgan Hill. We’ve been to all but 1 of the sushi joints in the city, and this is the best so far. Went on a friday night and were seated right away. Service was attentive and prompt. They brought out a free bowl of edamame which was awesome. They had a very good selection of sushi and entrée options. As a vegetarian, I was very impressed with the amount of vegetarian sushi that they had! I had an avocado roll and a yam tempura roll with avocado and cucumber. Delicious! My husband had some of the actual fish rolls and he said the fish was very fresh. The rolls were slightly on the smaller side but still were filling. The price was very reasonable. My husband had 2 fish rolls, my 3 vegetarian rolls, 2 hot teas, 2 side salads, and a mocha came to 44 $, which is really really reasonable. Everything was very flavorful. The only thing I didn’t particularly care for was the dressing on the salad which was too sweet/peanuty and not the typical dressing.

3.5 stars. Fast and friendly service Clean restrooms The eternal sunshine roll was okay… there was a lot of sauce on it so it compromised the actual fish and shrimp tempura inside. The chicken teriyaki was decent The winner was the agedashi tofu Will come back for round 2 when I am in the area.
