Location is in a shopping center where many stores are closed, but don’t worry they are still here. Food and creative rolls were fantastic. Chipped dishes were a turn off. Every dish had a large chip out of it. We had 4 rolls all great, excellent cucumber salad, and staff was lovely.

This is the best sushi in town. I would choose this place over any other place for their delicious food. I order the spicy crunch roll and it is actually so filling that I don’t need to eat again later that day!

I don’t like to give bad reviews for places but this was an exceptionally horrible experience. First off we chose to go here because we just recently moved to Morgan Hill and there appeared to be a lot of tables open. I have a special needs brother and waiting is tough on us so we usually check wait times before going to places. They told us there was no wait so me and my dad gave mom and my brother the go ahead. They didn’t seat us for 30 minutes okay maybe they were short staffed or something because then it took 40 minutes to receive our food. This is forgivable if the food is decent to good but I can’t even say that. So we get our food my dad and I had two standard sushi rolls which weren’t edible. The rice was so dry it didn’t stay together. The fish did not taste fresh — it tasted old. Okay maybe sushi isn’t their specialty? The name would be misleading but not the first time that’s happened but nope the tempura my mom got was greasy the teriyaki chicken was dry that she got and my brother’s salmon was the worst. Okay it was a basic grilled salmon with sushi rice. His rice was bland and dry and his salmon was mushy and tasted rotten. This was so disgusting I took it from him because I was afraid he’d get sick. Overall PLEASE just go to San Jose or Gilroy for sushi. It’s worth the drive this place isn’t worth wasting your time with.

This sushi is so fresh, so delicious ! We came in for the first time 10 mins before closing and they were so accommodating ! Especially Cheyenne the server ! Super friendly, very welcoming, very sweet !! We had an amazing experience here. They told us to take our time and enjoy our meal. We ordered basic white people order of sushi Cali roll, crunch roll, tempura and the Teri steak was incredible ! I highly, highly revving D this establishment. Go and check it out and tell the beautiful Cheyenne Nancy and Robert sent you !

My son and I decided to try this after living on Morgan Hill for 10+ years. First time visit and we were not disappointed. All of the food was fresh and the service was really good too. I’m not sure if this is normal, but there were lots of families with well-behaved little children. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a family friendly Japanese restaurant.

These two stars are for the following: Our server had a very sweet personality The hostess who ran to make sure a server would come help us In every other way this was an epic failure. Nobody greeted us for a very long time after they seated us. One server passed by 10 times without acknowledging our presence at all.(Except at the end when we left). we were packing up to leave when the hostess ran over and then got us a server. Our sweet server forgot to Put in our sushi order completely. It just never even went in. At least it wasn’t on the bill. The guy who delivered our plates was nice but forgot to bring a small plate we asked for to put our child’s meal on. The food was ok. Do yourself a favor and go straight to CreAsian instead. Superior food and service. Yes a longer wait but it’s worth it.

I have been a regular here for years! I love the ladies that work here and the rolls are so delicious. I would highly recommend the slim roll. It is the best thing I have ever had.

Sushi Ichiban is, simply put, an average Sushi bar. The rolls are not great but they are not terrible. The service was great and the wait is very short. It is good for lunch with friends, however I would not bring a date here. But if you are looking for a quick, affordable bit of sushi, Ichiban will do the job.

Worst experience! We were a large party(5 adults and 4 kids) and the food did not come out consistently on time. The last person at our table was served 45 min after we ordered. They also added 18% gratuity for our table after the horrible service due to our large table. No apology was given except an excuse about the kitchen. Ridiculous!

I like sushi bars and this didn’t disappoint. Plenty of flavors which is why I show up. Tastes fresh and clean.

DON’T EVENBOTHERMAKINGRESERVATIONSHERE, especially for your birthday. Called to make the reservation and they didn’t even take my name down. Called back to confirm and they seemed confused. Arrived on time and nothing is set up. Said we’ll have to wait 10 – 15 minutes for a party to leave when obviously it looks like 30 minutes. Everyone looks confused running around like a chicken with their head cut off. Management needs to get their act together because from the looks of it, everyone hates their service. Do better. Thanks for making my day so special!

We came here for the first time and absolutely loved the food and service! We got the teriyaki dinner entrée and the fried California sushi rolls. Our daughter loved the sushi train at the sushi bar and she also liked using the children’s chopsticks. Great experience.

The service was a little slow. Never was asked if I would like another drink. But must say the food was great!!! Jalapeño roll was very good!

Another overpriced sushi restaurant, but it’s somewhat worth your money. My favorite roll is the lion King roll… But it takes them soooo long to make it. I understand it’s baked, but I’ve been to plenty of other restaurants that can make this roll in a lot less time. I keep coming back here simply for the convenience. When a girl’s gotta have sushi now, you ain’t picky!

It’s funny that I’m even writing a 5 star review on a sushi restaurant, when I don’t even like sushi myself, but this place deserves it. WHAT I LIKE: as I mentioned, I’m not really big on sushi, but this place offers a variety of other entrees with my favorite being the Chicken Donburi. What really impressed me the most is the food is always fresh, and extremely consistent, and that is an area a lot of local dinners tend to fall short of the mark. I can’t really say much for the sushi /or rolls from personal experience, but I can tell you that this is my wife’s favorite place, so that’s saying something. BOTTOMLINE: If you like sushi, rolls, teriyaki/Donburi chicken this is place to go in town. They will not leave you disappointed!

Our party of 2 was first on the waiting list when we arrived at 6pm. We waited for 30 minutes just staring at the open 14 seats(see picture). I had to inform the manager who quickly made excuses for the hostess(she’s in training…). We finally got seated just to find that there was almost nothing available on the sushi train(see picture). We grabbed the best looking roll from the train — it was chewy & worse than Safeway sushi. Even the miso soup was bad — it was way too salty and lukewarm. 30 minutes after ordering our rolls we inquired about them. Our server said it would be quite a while longer. So we canceled the order and left.

I went at 7 pm and it became so busy the servers couldn’t keep up. The sushi was decent, the best item was the yellow tail nigiri. The crunch and spider rolls were okay. I would recommend sticking to the bento boxes or nigiri. Come during off peak hours so you don’t end up waiting for your food, the wait was fairly long and by the time my last item came, I was ready to go.

Had a terrible experience with take out. Phoned our order in at 8pm and was told it would be ready at 8:20. Wasn’t ready until 8:50pm by which time the salad in our bento boxes were nasty soggy, the meat swimming in suggary terriyaki sauce. The rolls and tempura were just okay. Worse was the terrible service. The owner snapped at her poor elderly father when he confused the orders. Do yourself a favor and get sushi from Safeway. It’s cheaper and tastes the same.

Ichiban has been our sushi spot for years… Their customer service is amazing. This place gets busy. But you can make reservations and even order your food ahead of time so it’s ready when you get there. I love it. Leng makes amazing rolls… Our usuals are Alaska, Lion King and Crunch. They also make a mighty tasty chicken fried rice. It wasn’t on the menu when we first stated ordering it… Not sure if it is now, we don’t bother to look since we get it all the time… Better than any of the sushi joints in Gilroy :)

Good fast service. They have a large menu, and a sushi boat/river that you can pick foods from. Sushi rice could be fresher/warmer. I would definitely come back for more.
