Some of the best food you can get in Morgantown. The fried green tomatoes made me enjoy them for the first time. Try all of the different sauces while you’re there and if you are lucky enough to be there when they have wigs make sure you pick some up. They have a true sensibility about how to mix down home with modern without losing anything from either. Get into Atomic, you won’t regret it.

Went here this evening and loved it! Had the Black and White sandwich which was generous in size and a draft beer they get from a brewery in Elkins. Service was good. Quick and they checked in with us frequently, and made sure we knew there was a safe place to go as there was a tornado warning. Will definitely be going back.

BBQ is decent but over-priced. Side selection is weak. I am a BBQ lover that has sampled fares from all over the country. Atomic Grill would not get into my top 30. Might be the top spot in town but mediocre at best in the grand scheme.

So glad to have Unilocal to help me find places like this! So many things to rave about. Location: up a windy road on a hill with a great view! Space: Neat retro small town vibe. Service: The servers really seem to love being here and sharing their restaurant with you. The owner came up and talked to me as well and made me feel very welcome. The food: I got the ribs. Delicious tender baby back ribs, with an excellent Bbq sauce. The baked beans on the side are amazing! The beer: great selection. Bbq lovers can’t go wrong here!

Pulled pork sandwich, plus greens & fried green tomatoes. Ahhhhhhhh! Aside from thin blue cheese dip, I have absolutely no complaint. I never give five stars. My 4 stars are highest. Definitely worth the drive up the hill. Bring your best girl.

Came here for lunch with co-workers based on the reviews on Unilocal. The concept of soul food with barbecue was very appealing to us. All the food was very well prepared, great portion sizes. The spicy barbecue sandwich was really good, and we were well taken care of by the staff. Definitely a place I would come back and visit if in the area.

I absolutely love this place. Everyone here is so friendly! Absolutely everything that i have tried here is outstandingly delicious! Their steaks are locally raised. Their pulled pork is to die for. My favorite place in town to eat.

Let’s just say this review was going to be rated a one star but they worked their way up… My best friend and I travelled 3 ½ hours a way from Maryland to come see our other best friend graduate today at WVU. Her Grandmother found your restaurant based on reviews and called to make a reservation. We got there a half hour early and there were tables that they could’ve made something work but they didn’t and offered for us to sit at the bar til the tables they wanted to use opened up. We were a little sad, but understood, and went to sit at the bar a while. Mind you, our party was 10 people. We went to the bar to have drinks and after about 20 minutes another party of 12 people walked in and didn’t have a reservation and somehow got a table right away… Aren’t you supposed to sit those with reservations down first? By this time it was 7:30 and we had the 3 ½ hour trek back to Maryland still and really wasn’t planning to be waiting this long… The manager did try to make up for it a little bit by giving us three plates of fried green tomatoes on the house as a thank you for being patient and they were pretty good. Once we finally got seated at a table, the first waiter that came over was a complete ass hat and asked what we wanted for drinks and some of the older people weren’t even seated yet and he acted like we were a problem and rudely walked off. If you honestly want your restaurant to be a better place, I think you need to lose him and his attitude. I’ve worked the restaurant industry and customer service is key. Feeling like I was literally the scum of the Earth by the way he looked at our table was not how I was expecting to be treated in the Morgantown community. If you need help of who he is, I think he was wearing glasses and was an older guy. Then, a friendly female waitress came out and she did a great job. If it weren’t for the good food even though a couple plates were on the cooler side, and the managers thank you we probably would’ve left. At the time I don’t think any of us cared even if we ate at the local Chic-Fil-A. The atmosphere is nice and clean. The menus are printed on record sleeves and the overall decoration has an eclectic/modern feel. I just wish, considering my best friend graduated college after busting her butt for 4 years could’ve been treated with a little bit more respect considering we took our time to scope out this restaurant and were thoroughly excited to be trying it. Only to be let down big time! Due to waiting so long, we didn’t get back to Maryland until 11:45PM and that was going a little bit over the speed limit… I would’ve gave them a 1 star just to rank but due to the niceness of our waitress and the manager giving us free appetizer and the good semi-hot food, I gave them a 3 star. The brisket was good but due to the service we received I don’t know if it was good enough to return again…

Was visiting West Virginia found this restaurant on Unilocal. When in and was greeted warmly restaurant was clean the staff was very friendly. Ended up getting of their daily special called Feel the Burn. It was a pulled pork sandwich with a Tangy house sauce with fresh lettuce very delicious all ingredients are local and fresh. In fact the owner came out to check on us which was a nice touch highly recommended.

This place has great food I just don’t care for its ambiance and, honestly, sometimes that’s what steers me away from it or keeps me from bringing friends and family. Their house salad is probably my favorite menu item if you’re not looking for BBQ or want something on the healthier side. The salad switches up from day to day so be sure to ask what’s on it before you order! I’ve been in with a group of friends before and we ordered one of their homemade desserts-which they had sold out of– so our waitress brought us one for free… so that was pretty cool.

I really wanted to like this place, but it’s just not for me. I’ve tried it twice and I’ve walked away both times disappointed. The atmosphere is cool. The menus are on the back of record album covers. The staff was really friendly and the service was five star. The food… not so much. I got the bacon cheeseburger and it had no flavor. The burger was pink in the center, and charred on the outside. Even with all of the toppings, all I could taste was char. The fries that came with the burger were gross. It was as if someone took the fries leftover from the day before, and refried and served them. They were hard and flavorless. The best thing I had was Roma and Machell’s Reunion soup which was a smoky tomato bisque. It wasn’t bad. Finally I had the Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding. I was so so so looking forward to this and so utterly disappointed. The bread pudding was made out of cinnamon rolls. Does Krispy Kreme even make cinnamon rolls? I don’t know. I expected it to be made out of the glazed or cream filled donuts Krispy Kreme is known for. But putting that expectation aside, the bread pudding was just okay. It was sort of mushy, and served plain… no ice cream, no sauce, nothing. And it was $ 5! My friend got the green tomatoes appetizer, and I tried it. It reminded me of fried zucchini. It was okay, but not what I would expect. My friend also got a pulled pork sandwich that was covered in liquid cheese. She loved it. Pulled pork and chicken is not really my thing, so this is clearly not the place for me.

0 Stars if it were an option. This placed should be named Hipster Grille, but the lazy hipsters who don’t know how to cook, not the good kind. What kind of gutter pallet people live here that this place is 4 stars? What we ordered: –BBQ Burger(Medium well) — Pulled pork sandwich — Coke — Sweet tea I really had high hopes that the Morgantown had a decent place to find food. I stay here quite often and I try out new places all the time mostly based off of Unilocal reviews. So when I saw a place to get barbeque, I was excited. My hopes started to fade quickly as when we were seated(on homemade furniture) we were told that they were out of Brisket and Ribs, this was at 4p.m. Mind you. Ok, no problem, so we order our drinks. Our drinks arrive and the«coke» looks more like water and the«sweet» tea is basically water. If you are going to classify yourself as soul food and serve barbecue, you better get your sweet tea right. To continue, our food comes out and the pork is cold, the medium well burger is burnt to hell and the coleslaw has 0 flavor. Not only that, but the«pulled» pork is more like half ass shredded pork. To top everything else, I look toward the kitchen area to see a cook coming out covered in grease all over his shirt and pants, and even the ass of his pants. Fucking filthy fucks need a health inspection ASAP. The only reason this place can survive is because the hipster fucks that attend college here, and think because a place has«craft» beer written in chalk on the walls is a cool place to go. Additionally, we asked to trade out the coke(that wasn’t drank) for a water, yet we were still charged for the coke. Also, never was even asked to refill drinks. ALSO(this should be it) they don’t have ketchup or their sauces on the table. If you have ever been to Memphis, KC, or Raleigh for BBQ, you know that having your sauces on the table is common practice.

if you happen to be travelling to West Virginia, chance upon getting hungry and craving for smoked chicken and ribs somewhere I-68, just make sure you hold that hunger until you get to exit 4. this place has the best smoked meat around the area. we started our meal with fried green tomatoes and bruschetta. I tell you, this is a good starter to something even better. we also added smoked chicken wings with their very tasty west virginia sauce which made our taste buds open up. then came the ribs. since I want to get a good taste of the ribs I asked to have the sauce on the side instead of rubbing it to the meat. with two sauces given to us, hawaiian and west virginia sauce, both of them complemented the smoked meat we are eating. here’s the best part, make sure you try their beer. I tried the CBL Halleck Pale Ale and it’s good. but wait, there’s also one beer that caught my eye… Horny Goat Beer, yeah your read it right. Horny Goat Beer for $ 2. and don’t ask me, I have no idea where it came from. I tried it for curiosity sake, then I went back to the Halleck Pale Ale… go figure the taste LOL

Let’s start off with the positives. + Service was very prompt + We were checked on regularly + The food was tasty, from the wing appetizers, kids cheeseburger, my brisket sandwich and my fiances brisket platter. The greens, fries, beans were good as well along with the Hawaiian and regualr BBQ sauce. The bluberry donut bread pudding was okay. Negatives — Price. My brisket sandwich with fries $ 12, kids plate $ 7, brisket platter $ 20, wings 5 of them $ 10, bread pudding $ 5 and 1 x sprite equaled $ 59. I felt the wings and platter were over priced. — No wet wipes for a bbq place — Music there was a bunch of moaning and groaning in the music, don’t know what the heck that was about.

I was really looking forward to eating here, even after reading some of the mediocre reviews. A solid three stars means I wouldn’t mind wondering back here however I won’t go out of my way to eat here. The Pros: great service and fast! The fries were delicious! The wings were really good something about bone in chicken that wings that I just love! You really can serve me a bad wing if you do you are seriously sucking. The sauce was really good! The server was very good about checking on us and didn’t have us waiting on anything. The greens were Devine! Please try them a little spicy but they were tasty. Cons: 10 dollars for five wings? 19 dollars for a brisket plate? The desert Doughnut bread pudding was disgusting, however I do not like doughnuts at all. If you like doughnuts like my fiancé then you may like that desert. Also there were no wet wipes, should we have to ask for them? Also i thought the music in the background was way inappropriate luckily my daughter or the several other kids didn’t seem to notice the very adult sounds the music was making. Now my meal. Not the best brisket I have ever had, I fact it was rather tough and a little more fat than I like to deal with:-(good portion tho. I am doing this one cheat meal a week thing so when I do eat out I like to make it awesome for me this place was alright and overpriced. Will I go back if asked by someone else absolutely, and perhaps stick to the sand which or something. I really wanted to try the bruschetta cornbread maybe next time.

The atmosphere and service were very good. The food was not. My husband had the brisket platter and found it to be fatty and tough. He nor my son were fans of the Carolina sauce. I had the BLT salad. The fried green tomatoes were okay. The smoked bacon was not my cup of tea and I love bacon. Just didn’t enjoy the flavor. I liked the roasted tomato vinaigrette a lot. My son had the bacon cheeseburger and fries and he liked it. I don’t think we’ll be back but we’re glad we tried it. Family-friendly.

Really delicious bbq! Especially the beef brisket. It was so tender and juicy. I had the brisket in the White Lightning sandwich(a hoagie with lettuce, tomato, onions, and white bbq sauce). It was simple, but amazing! It comes with fries, but you can change it to Cajun fries or garlic Parmesan fries, or to another side for extra cost. Everyone seemed to love the Don Ho burger and the ribs. The burger had grilled pineapple, gorgonzola cheese, and Hawaiian sauce. The full rack of ribs is $ 30 and is enough to share with another person. It comes with fries and beans. Service was great. We had a group of eight and we kept making change requests and folks sharing dishes, but our server was wonderful and chill about it. It’s a neat little restaurant. It’s decorated with pictures of tattoos. Even most of their servers are tatted up. If you’re ever in Morgantown, stop by here for some awesome food!
