Overall good service, atmosphere and good food. We had a little bit of the menu to include the meadllions, crab cakes, Mediterranean salad, crab & corn soup, tera mousse, the Parmesean spread with bread, mojito and government mule. My favorite was the soup and I’m not a soup guy. The soup had the perfect flavor combination and texture, next was the Mediterranean salad with bell peppers, chick peas, cauliflower, pita bread with a spread it had a little kick to it and was very flavorful. The crab cakes were very good as was the dessert. The meadllions could have used a little more fresh pepper but were good none the less. Our drinks were perfect as well. The service at times was a little slow, but not so much I would complain about it. It is a small kitchen and with as many people that were there tonight I could see why. The menu is pretty small, the acutal entrees numbered around 6 and there really wasnt anything that you could get full off, hence why we ordered a bunch of different items. If i had to rank the food it would be. 1. Corn crab soup($ 5 cup) 2. Mediterranean Salad($ 8) 3. Crab Cakes($ 11) 4. Terra mousse($ 5) 5. Parmsean and pepper spread($ 5) and steak meadllions($ 18) Cocktail drinks are $ 10

I’m an out of towner. Solo looking for a place to eat. Enjoyed the corn chowder. Yummy way to get things started. Then they had seared tuna and really it was perfect. Then you kick in a little ambiance of a time long ago and great local beer selection on tap and I’m in heaven. Riley was my hostess and she was helpful and attentive.

Great atmosphere and good food. If you are downtown, it is a great social place to be.

So we didn’t have reservations and just walked in. They told us they didn’t have a table but then found one for us and literally chased us down to let us know. The place was packed. We ordered two specialty cocktails, edamame hummus & roasted zucchini. The edamame hummus was delicious. The pita bread was decent. My husband wasn’t a fan of the roasted zucchini, which was served with a ricotta cheese mixture. But he doesn’t like ricotta. I do. I loved it. It was served with crostini, but I preferred dipping the roasted zucchini in the ricotta/sauce mixture. We opted for tapas instead of entrees. We had mussels, scallops and langoustine with risotto and shrimp and grits. Fantastic. The mussels were probably our favorite. By this point, we were tipsy and stuffed. But who can pass up crème brûlée? It was delicious. Our waiter was fantastic, and the atmosphere was fun. It’s probably my new favorite local restaurant.

This little gem was the highlight of our weekend in Morgantown. We stumbled upon it while searching for the happenin’ part of town(Pearl Street). We didn’t have a reservation so we ended up sitting at the bar, which made our experience that much more fun. The bartenders prepared our drinks the old fashioned way(proper methodology). The food was absolutely amazing and their spin on classics was delicious. I’ve been to many places similar to this(historical vibe, legit drinks, scrumptious food) in Atlanta, DC, Chicago, etc. and this by far blew them all away. Love love love!

Wow! I was at a private party here, but the food was from their menu, and it’s FANTASTIC! I can’t wait to come back!

Really great food. Unique place. Kind of pricey, but not too bad for a perfectly prepared plate of steak and greens. Had an odd atmosphere, and the drink menu provided to us only had whiskey cocktails. Definitely would try again.

My friends and I went here last Friday night after the homecoming parade. We ordered the oysters on the half shell they were West coast and delicious! Then we decided to have a bunch of tapas and share as a group. We ordered the filet medallions, langoustine and scallops, crab cakes, ratatouille and finally the star dish… the pulled pork crostini. They were all very good if there was any complaint it was the filet was a little over done(we ordered med rare) and the ratatouille lacked in flavor. We also had some mixed drinks that were recommended by the waitress both were very, very good. The cat’s pajamas and the happy jack both were worthy of a second round. We were seated at the front table because it was homecoming weekend the bar was very loud. It was difficult to have a conversation however, had we been seated in the back it would have been less noisy. I would recommend this place to the mid 30 and up crowd and was so happy to find this little jewel on High Street this year for my annual game.

Excellent dining experience at this restaurant and they are serving perhaps the best gin and tonic I have ever had in my life. Morgantown needs more establishments of this caliber.

4 stars for great service. We waited for the food for a long time our first time there. It was good on the whole, I would really give overall 3 stars but the service was excellent. Second time, the food came faster and service was excellent. My third time there was for pre dinner BD celebration. Atmosphere is always fun and loud… definitely not for a quiet Romantic dinner.

LOVED Tin 202. My husband and I recently visited Morgantown and were so happy to find such an unbelievable restaurant. I took a chance on the trout and I couldn’t believe how amazing it was. My husband told me his steak was almost the best he has ever had(and he always orders steak!). The service was wonderful too and the restaurant is beautiful. Wish Tin 202 was located near where I live in Northern Virginia. I would definitely be a regular. Everyone needs to go to Tin 202! Eileen Hill Annandale, Virginia

Unbelievable bar/restaurant in Morgantown WV. I spent 7 years living in Washington DC and this establishment reminded me of numerous places in DC. The tapas we had were extremely good and the crab cake dinners were extremely good. Also had the house old fashion and would recommend giving their speciality drink list a chance This restaurant would be my first pick if someone in Morgantown asked me «where should I take that special girl for dinner in Morgantown?» Very nice atmosphere and extremely well trained staff who will go out of their way to keep the customers happy.

Got the pork Crustinis, they were literally charred. You would never know the burnt crumbles on the top were any type of meat. Could not eat any of them but a bite. Waitress took back the entire plate uneaten and didn’t care to ask if they were okay considering we didnt eat more than a bite. «Authentic Italian» Bruschetta was no where close to authentic, there was no balsamic vinegarette. To top it all off the bread was inedible, felt like I was going to break a tooth on it. Would never recommend coming here

My wife and I spent our anniversary at Tin 202 and had a lovely evening. From the moment we walked in the staff was very attentive. We had reservations for 7PM but arrived early so we could enjoy a cocktail at the bar. The hostess said our table was reserved and ready for us. So we enjoyed our cocktails table side. And they were delicious. I ordered a Sazerac and my wife ordered the Corpse Reviver No. 2. Really, really tasty. Onto the food where we split an order of crab cakes for an appetizer. Our entrees were ceviche, mussels and one of the specials of the day, halibut. All of the items were prepared as we had anticipated. The fish was very fresh, mussels were healthy and plump, the ceviche reminded us of when we were in Lima, Peru and the crab cakes as if we were in Baltimore. Paired with a Pinot Noir from Spain. We were then treated to a crème brûlée to share with a sparkling Pinot Noir as an accompaniment. A very nice touch. I have to say the service is impeccable at Tin 202. Ian our server was very helpful and attentive to our needs. We never felt we were left waiting or that he was part of our party. Very well done. The space is very comfortable with the right sound level of cocktail music in the background and the lighting is muted which makes for a very cozy evening. We hope to see more types of establishments like Tin 202 in Morgantown. Based on the number of guests last night I believe there is pent up demand for establishments other than college student fare. Thank you for a memorable evening.

Came back to visit and came across this place to celebrate a friend’s birthday. There were quite a few people so I was able to try a lot of the specialty drinks, which were fantastic. I stuck with the White Russian(which had an egg white in it and it just made it that much more fantastic), but the drink that stood out to me was the gin and tonic. Gin is probably my least favorite liquor out there but, man, this was amazing. The flavors just melded perfectly. The bartenders are very knowledgable and put on a good show. It’s nice to see that in Morgantown because typically, downtown, it’s just your typical young bartender that’s slinging vodka cranberries and know nothing about a good mixed drink/beer/wine. I did not get a chance to eat an entrée there, but I did get two appetizers. The tzatziki appetizer was fantastic. The flavor was great, and the chunks of cucumber added just enough texture. The warm pitas were slightly salted which added to it. I also ordered the bruschetta. It was very mild in flavor, not anything too mind blowing. When I requested more bread, it wasn’t toasted which was how I assumed it would come. Overall, very excited to see a place like this in Morgantown. Love the ambience, staff was great. I’m definitely coming back next time I’m in town. Hopefully, I’ll get to try more of the food!

I was really looking forward to Tin 202’s opening after watching them gut and refurbish the building. It took a while, but my wife and I finally made it in for dinner. I have to say that they did a really great job. The atmosphere is very cool and classy. Sadly, not much else lived up to my expectations. Just to be upfront, my experience was fine. But I really expect more than fine from a restaurant that is attempting to create an upscale experience. Most of the shortcomings were a result of the service, which I’ll highlight shortly. First, a friend had one of their many cocktails, which he said was very tasty. So, if you’re into that, you probably won’t be disappointed. My wife and I wanted a beer, however. So after reviewing the beer list(maybe 12 options on tap), we made our selections THEN we were informed that they really only had 3 of the beers available. Hmm. Our waitress said shed give us a minute to decide on food, but it actually took her about 15. Oddly, she came by several times, refilled water, had drinks dropped off… But didn’t ask to take our orders. She finally did, and our friend tried to order one of their entrees, but was immediately informed that they were actually out of it that evening. Probably should have led with that. We ordered a few tapas in lieu of entrees — scallops, polenta crostinis, and crab stuffed mushrooms, and a side of asparagus. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but was delivered piecemeal. We had half of our order on the table for about 5 minutes before the other half. Then we waited a few minutes longer for our friends entrée to come out. The food was generally good, with clean presentation. I kind of feel like if something is listed as plural(mushroomS), there should be more than one. But I may be nitpicking. A third of the scallops were gritty, but they were all cooked well. The rest of our food was tasty. Out friend said that his pork was delicious(the fruit/mustard sauce made it), but his salad was nondescript. Overall, I might give it another shot because the cuisine had promise. If we get a different staff member I’ll probably have a better time. And don’t get me wrong, she was very nice and was trying to make our dining experience good. There were just some major technical errors that detracted from our evening. Oh and just an FYI — they will check your coat for you at the door(nice). Afterwards they put a playing card on your table, which is apparently how you get your coat back. We didn’t know, nor can I tell you who to give the card to.

3.5 stars, but feeling generous. We had a lovely evening at Tin 202 — great drinks, impeccable service(probably the best I’ve ever had in Morgantown), really nice ambiance(finally a place for grownups — jazz in the background, a sophisticated but not pretentious vibe). Deserving of 5 stars. I look forward to many more evenings there. So why only 3.5 stars? Sadly, the food, which I would give a 2. There are plenty of nice dishes on the menu, but almost everything we tasted fell short. It felt like nothing was made fresh, and had the bland, slightly soggy taste that comes from reheating. The bruschetta was dry, stale bread with a few slivers of tomato; the tuna ceviche did not pop with flavor, and the pieces of fish were rubbery; and most disappointing was the brasato, which in texture and flavor was closer to the beef stew you get on airplanes. Definitely not fresh, under-seasoned, and not even very warm. One exception were the pulled pork sliders, which were delicious. I feel bad being so critical of the food, because in every other respect I was really impressed by Tin 202. I look forward to going back, but think I’ll stick to drinks and a couple of small plates. It may also be that they’re still ironing things out, and will become a reliable dinner destination.
