Passed this place a couple of times and thought it was something else. Our server told us it’s a laid back place with live music. walked in and yes, it’s laid back… waaaay laiid back. it’s like an old house, decorated with beer lol. some art for sale, but not clearly marketed, tons of beers, ciders and wines(I had 99 Vines), some board games and a giant Jenga outside(we won!). Music was perfect level, Joe was super accommodating. No hassle, no attitudes, no bs. a perfect way to spend a rainy evening.

This is the bar we have been looking for for awhile. We came here by chance, after we were given horrible service at nearby Mount Dora Rocking Rabbit Brewery and left. Mermaid Juice staff were extremely helpful and friendly and allowed you to sample any beer in draft. Dog-friendly place too, and staff were extremely nice and accommodating for our dog. Tons of craft beer selection on draft and bottles. The place has a very laidback, comfortable vibe, perfect for younger crowd or more openminded crowd. Definitely will be back and highly recommended.

This is a strange place. Walking in I wasn’t sure where to go. The entrance comes into a small room cluttered with things. I ventured to the next room. More things cluttering the area and a bar-top table with a few stools. Into another room and I finally see a few taps. Into the next room for several fridges of bottled beer, a couch and chair, and more clutter, the second half of the room featured a few more taps in different areas. Finally, the person working there directed us to the beer list printed out and on the wall. My husband and I picked a few beers at the barkeeps recommendation and then ventured to look around the place again. Finally we sat at the bar-top table and stools up front. The entire time I felt like I was in a mix of a guy’s college dorm(bro!) and a grandma-with-hoarding-tendencies house. This is definitely not my style and seemed to prohibit actually hanging out with more than 1 or 2 people. There was an outside seating area, but it was hot and the plastic chairs didn’t look too inviting. It is an antique shop, but I’m not sure if more people go there for the antiques or for the beer?

This place was not what I expected from the reviews. I thought it would be an antique store with a small bar. Instead you walk in as if you are walking into some guys disorderly, cluttered home. There is stuff displayed everywhere but not really as if to sell it but more to give you something to look at while you drink. The guy working/hanging out was friendly and allowed us to sample several before we decided. There is a huge list of bottle and draft beer available as well as some wine so choosing was no small task. As another reviewer mentioned it is like hanging out at your frat buddy’s house who just so happens to have a lot of really cool varieties of beer that he’ll sell you. The night we happened by was beer share Sunday(second Sunday of the month). Bring a unique bottle and share with the other beer geeks who eagerly discussed hoppiness of this or that brewery. The place is tiny inside, a couch and some chairs with a TV in one room and a front foyer where a handful of people were playing Uno. Out back was a grass/dirt backyard with several chairs and tables about. There was a busted foosball table and some corn hole boards propped up. It had been a rainy evening so it wasn’t too welcoming back there. The vibe is very, very relaxed and low key. There are big coolers full of bottles and cabinets hide the kegs of several varieties on draft. You have to wander a little to find everything. There are some chips and candy bars for sale but people appeared to bring their own and, like the shared bottles, place them in the middle of the room for all to share. It would be fun to come back with some beer loving friends.

So the place isn’t bad but I felt very out of place. It was like I showed up to a party in someone’s living room but I was never invited to the party. The start of the visit was good but hearing a guest talk about a girl in revealing clothes and having the employee joke that she could«come in bend over and shake her ass in here» was really off putting. I know the place is supposed to have a laid back feel but employees need to not sound like Neanderthals. Apparently the owner is super cool but I don’t think I will be back.

My favourite place in Mt. Dora :) Love the atmosphere, love the people, LOVE Daneaux, and of course, love the beer and wine selections. Great for relaxing, kicking back with a few friends(and beers), also features special events(live music, cheese plates, cornhole(lol) and more).

Stumbled across this place while on a business trip. Thanks to other Unilocalers, I was intrigued to think someone actually opened a craft beer bar in an antique shop. And that’s exactly what it is. I’m not an antiquer, but I’m a beer fan and was pleasantly surprised to find a superb beer list, both on tap and in bottles/cans. Cool vibe and a friendly owner.

This is such a great place! Quaintly unique and perfect, it’s an antique shop and a my favorite place to enjoy a craft brew. An odd combination that really works! The owner is a wonderful host and is very knowledgeable of all craft beers. They often have fun events as well as live music! I highly recommend this great hang out to kick back and relax while sipping one of the many brews on tap or from the wide variety of bottled beer in the cooler. I have to visit this place ATLEAST once a week!

My wife and I, as well as our friends, love Dan and the relaxed atmosphere that his place offers. We often end up plugging in our cell phones and playing some music (or you can play some 45’s on the record player) and playing Uno or Catch Phrase. I’ve had beers here that I’ve never seen anywhere else. Dan is always willing to offer advice on storing or brewing beer and the staff will always let you try the draft beers to ensure you will enjoy before buying a pint. We are very lucky to have such a great place here in our town. Thanks Dan!

The best tap list outside of World of Beer. A much friendlier atmosphere than WOB too. Great craft beer selection and an awesome staff.

Some of the beers available aren’t available at large establishments and for a beer snob like myself that’s great. The atmosphere is inviting and there are many antiques to look at while sipping a beer. Service is top of the line at this establishment; the owner is very friendly and will take care of you. I can’t wait to go back the next time I’m in Mount Dora and try more beers. Definitely a place to stop the next time you’re in Mount Dora.

Some of the beers he has you can’t even get at large establishments. These include beers from well established breweries as well as homebrews made by the area’s brewing greats. A food review is applicable since the Cajun boiled peanuts(boiled in Chimay beer when I was there last –the beer was repurposed after accidentally being frozen) were amazingly tasty. If you’re not a fan of Cajun peanuts do not worry as they were just hot enough that you could keep eating them but not start sweating. The atmosphere is inviting and there are many wonderful antiques to look at while sipping a beer that cannot be purchased anywhere else in the state of Florida. Service is top notch at this establishment. The owner will take care of you like you both have been friends for years. Value is great! Prices of the beer, peanuts, and antiques are fair and I felt like I got a great deal for my money. A draft selection of over 11 beers and others in bottles make this place a go to any time you’re thirsty. Next time you’re in Mount Dora I highly suggest checking the place out, grabbing a beer, and looking at the antiques
