We are originally from New York and it is quite difficult to find Italian food in southern New Jersey when your taste buds are tuned to a far higher standard. Yes… sounds snobby… but being from the mecca of Italian food, and being of Italian descent, makes you appreciate when a restaurant around here does a great job. LaScala’s Pronto is doing a great job. We were greeted by Sal who promptly opened the door for my family and was quite pleasant. Our waitress, Alexis, was a very pleasant and outgoing young lady who was attentive but not overbearing. We tried two appetizers… the homemade fried mozzarella which were your standard mozzarella sticks. But we also tried the Fried Risotto Balls and these were very tasty with a nice combination of cheese, little bits of ham, and risotto. Worth it. Alexis brought out some nice rolls with a dipping sauce that was fantastic. The dipping sauce was a combination of olive oil, butter, Rosemary, and a balsamic reduction. Great combination and definitely worth asking for seconds. Three of us ordered the Chicken Parmigiana dinner. I am a connoisseur of chicken parmigiana and I believe this is a staple of any Italian restaurant in the sense that if you can make this dish properly you are doing well as a restaurant. The Chicken Parmigiana was excellent with a good crispiness but not too thick, sliced mozzarella, and a sauce that was tasty with a shade towards the sweet side. My spaghetti was PERFECTLY cooked. My wife had the Chicken Sorrento, which was delicious, with cavatelli… also cooked perfectly. Avoid angel hair pasta as it is almost impossible to al dente. LaScala’s Pronto was a very pleasant experience. The food was extremely good, the service was great(thanks Alexis), and my Italian family will most assuredly be returning to sample those rolls and dipping sauce(yummy!!!) again.

Ordered take out SEAFOODFUSILLI food was ok. It only had 2 shrimp, 2 scallops, and about 1 and a half spoons of crab meat. No soup no salad just one small roll. It was almost 25.00 with a tip. That is a lot for the little bit of food you get.

I’m totally disappointed. The salad had a bug in it. You could still taste the soil the lettuce was in. I swear some of the carrot pieces looked like bugs bunny taste tested my veggies. Seriously was hoping this place was as good as the location seemed.

Called to order take out. The guy who helped me over the phone and in person was super nice and helpful. The food was ready exactly when he said it would be. The food is EXCELLENT !!! Fresh salad with a yummy dressing. I had the chicken Francais and it was really very good. The sausage and peppers appetizer is also really tasty. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that thy forgot to give me bread with my order. Other than that, it was great. I highly recommend and will be back.

My office used to order from here all the time. They constantly mess up the orders. One time they even gave a co-worker a gift card b/c they forgot her order. Come to find out, they did not put any money on the gift card. The delivery drivers are grumpy, miserable and rude. They do not care about customer service at all. Only bright spot… their risotto balls are really good. Needless to say we never order from them anymore.

Being new to the area, we have been trying to find places nearby for dinner and we received a coupon for La Scala’s Pronto in one of the Clipper’s magazines that was delivered to our house. We checked out the menu and decided to go in! We liked our first trip so much that we decided to bring one of our friends when he was in town(so the food I write about will reflect both trips). When you first enter La Scala’s Pronto, there is a bit of an open space which I assume is for pick-up. The kitchen is straight ahead and on the left, which I love that it is an open kitchen and you can see them making your food! Right next to the kitchen is the hostess stand, and past that is the dining room. The dining room is extremely comfortable and inviting. We had the same waitress both times we were there who was so nice. We had told her that we were new to the area and she made some recommendations, and she even remembered us the second time that we came in. For starters we ordered the arancini(risotto balls — ham, mozzarella, parmesan, side of marinara) and fried calamari(cornmeal dusted with a side of marina). I love arancini and order it every time I see it on a menu and these did not disappoint at all, and the calamari was equally delicious. The first time I came I ordered the rigatoni vodka and my husband ordered the tortellini rosa. Both of the serving sizes were really good and we had leftovers to take home. We both loved our dinner. The second time we came I ordered the eggplant pizza(eggplant, ricotta, mozzarella, and sauce). This was a good size for one person and take some home for leftovers, or to split. I absolutely loved this eggplant pizza! One thing we didn’t know the first time that we came here was that it is BYOB. The second time we came, we brought a few beers and a bottle of wine and our server brought over an ice bucket for all of our stuff. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good food and a really nice relaxing restaurant!

Very good food and service. We had risotto balls which were awesome, along with a arugula pizza. Great too… bread and dipping sauce awesome and they even give you some to take home!

Upscale Pizza joint… The place is nice enough, and the food was good enough, but I thought a little overpriced for what it is. 6 of us cost $ 153(not including tip), and its a byob.

I have been here 4x thus far, once to grab a quick slice, which was DELISH!!! Second time, I tried to do the same in a quick stop, and ended up walking out with no greeting or service. Third and fourth time went in for lunch, I must say the food was great!!! Chicken Parm and la scala fries left me wanting more, but I was so stuffed couldn’t do it! lol The Service is mediocre at best! If they could get a better grasp on this, I would def give more stars! It’s almost like the kitchen guys wait on the tables at lunch time, and they let you seat yourself. Each time the booths needed to be reset and cleaned from the last seating. Seems a bit unorganized but the taste of the food will def bring me back for sure! I haven’t been in for dinner yet but I am def planning on it!

What a pompous ##### … The wife and kids were away, so I decided to try it bc I heard the pizza was good. I ordered an $ 18 grilled chicken and asked for an app, which I requested to be a slice of pizza(which they sell at the front counter). But I was told they will not serve slices in the back. I said I’m not JUST ordering a slice, I am ordering a full meal. Still they refused, but they«generously» offered to sell me a whole pizza. If you are going to sell slices of pizza, how can you discriminate where you sell them. Lots of competition, if you are trying to set yourself apart, being a ##### isn’t the way to go

I have to be honest, I was really nervous about dining here after reading some of the reviews, especially from a few people whose opinions I respect. LaScala’s will probably not win any awards in the best overall food category, but it does hold its own. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with roasted peppers, sharp provolone, and sautéed spinach during my first visit and it was not bad at all. Monday night I ordered their chicken parmesan sandwich. As I stated, they may not win any awards for best food, but the chicken parmesan sandwich was the best I had at any pizzeria, or Italian based established in the Mount Laurel, Marlton area. I ordered minestrone soup each time I ordered take-out. I guess this is where I can identify with some of the complaints. The first time my cup of soup was nice and hearty, this time I pretty much received a cup of broth, and more importantly it did not taste the same. However this was not a make or break situation for me. My wife eats nothing but soup and believes the soup at this establishment, particularly the Italian Wedding is some of the best. While picking up my call-in order Monday night, I decided to order a slice of pizza for the car ride home.(What? Don’t judge me) The young man heating up the slice for me kept apologizing because it was taking longer than a couple of minutes to heat it up. NOPROBLEM! I hate when pizzerias toss a slice in the oven for a minute and serve it to me. Again, not the best slice of pizza I had however, this was probably one the best slices of pizza I’ve had in the immediate area. For starters it was cooked properly. The bottom of the slice had a nice slightly burnt color on the bottom. So many pizzerias in the South Jersey area fail to cook their pies all the way through that you can brush the flour off the uncooked dough. I am not against take-out, but I prefer to enjoy my meal right from the kitchen; especially when dining at an establishment for the first time. I believe certain things need to be enjoyed right away before it gets cold and loses flavor. I ordered take-out from LaScala’s Pronto on two separate occasions and was quite satisfied with the temperature, and the quality of my food once I was home. I haven’t had nothing but friendly interactions with the staff here. As I stated earlier, the young man was apologizing for taking the time to thouroughly heat my slice. I even had the chance to briefly speak with the friendly manager, who provided me with information on their football specials. I tried to convince her to expand delivery to the Marlton area but we both kind of agreed it can take sometime to get across town. She informed me that it could be done under special circumstances. Since I have been extremely disappointed with some of the pizzerias in my area, I can order takeout here if I get the urge to drive across town or if I am in the area.

My husband and I went out with some friends after a round of mini golf across the street. The location is great– Dearborn Circle is very convenient to many attractions nearby. The décor was ok. The location is narrow but deep. You walk past the takeout pizzeria area to see the dining room, which is decorated with high red lighting features, large black and white pictures from the 40s, and booths along each side. We were seated quickly and only given two glasses and two menus(plus Christmas music was playing– in August). This should have given us a clue that things would be a bit off, but we ordered anyway. My husband ordered eggplant meatballs(balls made of eggplant, spices, egg, and breadcrumbs). These were delicious, but the ricotta cheese that was on top tasted sour– as though it had gone bad. I ordered spinach, garlic white pizza, which was small for the price but quite tasty(ricotta was not sour). One of our friends ordered pasta with blush sauce which she liked. The other friend tried to order a plain cheese pizza. He received a margarita pizza with slices of provolone on top. He asked for more cheese to be added(it was very sparse). They came back with more provolone slices. At the end of the meal, we were offered desserts($ 8– no thanks– this isn’t that type of place). Then we received a bill that was for another table– and a good $ 30 more than our bill would have been. At this point, we tried to flag down the waitress(who was able to see us) but were ignored. Another waiter took pity on us and assisted us. Then our waitress rushed over and told us that she was sorry about the mix-up. This whole process took 15 minutes. Funny facts– the place is named pronto, meaning now or quickly. Nothing here was done quickly. Also, my friend noticed that there was plain(cheese) pizza sitting at the front of the restaurant. Seriously. Won’t be back again.

I went in for the first time today, and I was very impressed with the décor and how modern and clean everything appeared. When we went in we were greeted by makers in the front and guided us where we needed to go to be seated. The hostess was very friendly and personable, A+ in my book. The back of the restaurant was packed with all patrons. so we thought WOW. this is going to be a great experience! NOT!!! When we were seated, and when I saw«we», I mean my daughters 11&6 and my husband. We checked out the menu and I noticed the prices were pricey for what we were getting. but that’s besides the point. It took the server about 10 minutes to come and acknowledge us and the first statement was, what would you like to order!!! My 11, year old says aren’t you supposed to ask us what drinks we want first and give us your name! The lady just looked at her with confusion and just kept going. It was odd and she was not personable at all!!! Ok. Before ordering they do give you homemade bread and a dipping sauce which was very we ordered. My girls ordered a half marguerita pizza and half white pizza. I ordered seafood fusilli and hubby chicken Marsala… Ummmmm can I just say mediocre. Pizza was cold and not flavorful. My dish was not bad, but not memorable. and hubby was not satisfied with his entrée. He stated his pasta was and under cooked. I do want to acknowledge and state .it was very busy there and the waitstaff were very overwhelmed. The waitress had the nerve to say that the next time we go in we should go before 6 to have a better experience?!? I couldn’t believe she said that. I am not sure if they were or are prepared for large amounts of people to go in at once. However, as as customer you want to feel that you are taken care of. and I just didn’t feel like that at LaScala’s. I know everyone’s experience is not the same however mine was not great. I don’t think I would go back.

This restaurant is relatively new to the area. This restaurant is bigger than it looks. The use of the available space is maximized. The staff is friendly and courteous. My wife had the BBQ chicken wings and I had the stuffed mushrooms with crabmeat. Very tasty! Main course, my wife had chicken parm. She had a ton of pasta and two good sized breast cutlets. I had the lasagna with meat sauce. No complaints!

I had lunch at this place today. I had things to get done, so I grabbed a slice and sat at the high top tables up front. Between the time I walked in and when I sat, someone thought it would be a good idea to prop the front door open. It was about 45 degrees out at the time, and so it was cold. I asked to close the door, which they did. A few minutes before I left, the same guy propped the door open again. It turned the place from comfortable to freezing cold. The food? The pizza was ok. Very good crust, nice cheese, but the sauce was fairly bland. I don’t feel like I got less than what I paid for, but with as many pizza shops around here as there are, there are better options. Even Wegmans has better pizza.

I had been to the main La Scala’s location in Philly and loved-loved-loved their sweet and spicy wings. So when we noticed La Scala’s Pronto opened up we were super excited to go back and try their food. When first walking we grabbed take out menus because we weren’t sure if there was sit-down service. Once we went around the counter though, we were immediately greeted enthusiastically and asked if we needed help. Which we clearly did. We were told it would only be a few minutes for a table, but you can order take out at the counter(hence the Pronto). The service was amazing. It’s been rare that we get such good service that both my sister and I are happy with. A tall blonde woman seated us and was very friendly, making just the right amount of small talk. Our waiter, Rick, was engaging and also very friendly. There were multiple food runners and others who collected plates when they were empty. We ordered the sweet and spicy wings and a large buffalo chicken pizza. The wings were good but came with huge chunks of chopped onions. When we had this at the Philly location, the onions were small bite-size slivers. They were easy enough to pick off and I left all of them for my sister. The buffalo chicken pizza was huge! We definitely agreed that next time we would get the small, but we did get leftovers out of it. We didn’t love the pizza it wasn’t bad it just wasn’t something we loved. We want go back to try their other pizzas.
