Sawyer’s On the Boulevard

We live in Mt. Pleasant and have passed this place many times and decided to give it a try this evening. Big mistake. First of all it took 20 minutes just to get our drink order placed and then the server had to come back because she forgot that we wanted. Water and an unsweetened tea is not overly hard to remember, is it?. She was new and very scattered. She finally took our food order and I opted for a burger and side salad while my wife choose a house salad with shrimp. While my burger was good the salad my wife ordered was pathetic. It consisted of a handful of lettuce (I had more in my side salad) some cukes that had seen better days, a tad of tomato, chopped onion (my wife had specifically requested NO ONION) and a half dozen very small apparently precooked shrimp. When our server asked how the food was we told what we thought of the salad and she agreed that it was pretty sorry but did not offer to make any adjustment to the $ 13 price or to have a manager come by. We left very disappointed in both the speed of service and the quality of the food. These locals will not be back.

I have to say that Bailey, our waitress, is one of the best waitress we have in a while. She’s so on it. We ordered the seafood platter. It was fantastic, I especially love the catfish and want to make a sandwich out of it, Bailey told me the different choices and asked if I wanted my bread toasted once I picked my choice! Every time we ask for something extra she was on it with a smile. All of the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The food that we ordered were great. The fried food was light, crispy, and well seasoned.
While Sawyer’s doesn’t have a view like Bowens Island Restaurant, their food and friendly staff is so much better.

WORST service EVER! (The food wasn’t far behind the service) Our appetizers came out an hour later, oh, btw, we ordered cold dip and chips. The waitress actually forgot to put the order in, then told us that someone had taken our food to another table. When our food came out two orders were missing, I asked her if she had put in the other two orders, she replied «I sure did, but I guess they took them to another table» WTF?!? After an hour and a half, our food was horrible! Shrimp was over boiled and mushy, and the tacos had NO flavor!!! We had to ask her about 3 times for my drink, as well. If ever in Charleston, do NOT even stop at this dump, keep driving! Only good thing about this place was the clean restrooms and the band.

We used to eat at Buddy Roe’s when in town… Now the place is better looking and the food is better. The service was perfect. We will be back next year!

Bad food. Slow service. Very disappointing. Really hoped it’d be a good spot. I’ll be back never. Be warned.

Great music, relaxed and my dad loves it. Can’t complain! Great atmosphere too. The best part is the company… Happy to enjoy with family! There’s a great outdoor patio as well as a yard. But it’s great to get a seat inside to listen to all of the music. That is what makes this place stand out. They also have local beer on draft and great food!

Location of this restaurant/​bar is gorgeous. Interior is appropriate for it. While I’d say it looks like a great visit if you’re aiming for a bar, I’d pass on the food.
Which isn’t to say all of it is bad. The Buffalo wings, while not hot at all, were grilled and had a flavor to them so solid I didn’t even say anything, because despite not being what I ordered, I still wanted them. All of them. Excellent.
The shrimp platter for $ 21 though… dual consensus on it not being worth it. Shrimp itself was great, not much of it though. Fries and mac and cheese very forgettable. Green beans just… not very good. Cooked like collards, but it simply didn’t work. Sorry.
Friendly, useful staff. Pretty location. It has more positives than negatives. I wouldn’t go with my lovely there exclusively for dinner again.
There was live music, if you like. Was an addition I could have lived without but I’m not going to dock them for featuring something I’m sure they advertised.

Love going here. It is a true adult place with great music. The food is also pretty good here as well. If you like good music and dancing this is the place. Lots of really nice friendly people here. Keep up the great job

Everything was perfectly executed! Love the décor, very chic and classy. Food portions were generous with a nice presentation, and Professionalism. With every bite more succulent than the first. Staff was on point with recommendations and food descriptions. Everyone was very friendly, courteous and kind. (On point) Making sure i had everything for a great dining experience. I absolutely love the band and the younger feel to the crowd. And hope to now have a place to hangout where we can actually dance to music we know and connect with. Thank you all for your hard work and all the changes to move fwd in a into 2016. Hands down five stars

We went here this past Sat, Jan 30. There were 6 of us total. We came to have dinner and listen to a band. While they did a beautiful job with the interior of the restaurant, this was by far the WORST service and WORST food EVER! Everyone’s entrées were cold. We had to constantly ask for refills on drinks. At one point they ran out of clean glasses and used styrofoam !! How does that happen? Our server, while he was a nice kid, so does not need to be a waiter. He asked us to cash out early because his shift was over. That’s fine. We asked for the bill to be split down the middle with two cards. One card was charged for about ²⁄₃ of the bill and the other a third. What??? To top it off, at one point the kitchen door was propped open and our table was next to it. The smell that was coming out was terrible. My cat’s litter box smells better. All six of us decided that we would never eat here again.

First time eating here. Ordered the Salmon BLT with a side if broccoli. The sandwich comes on Texas toast with thyme aioli, generous slices of tomato and a good amount of bacon, Overall the sandwich was good but the salmon was cold. It would’ve been much better if it was warm. The broccoli was slightly over cooked for my taste. I’d certainly give the restaurant another chance however they really need to get more servers. There were two waiters doing the seating, serving and bussing the tables. Our poor waiter was literally running from table to table trying to get orders and clean tables.

Great food, fun atmosphere, highly recommend this place. Music was super too. Two thumbs up!

My party of 3 recently
had lunch at Sawyers On The Boulevard and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We started out w/​tortillas, yummy beer cheese dip, and fried green tomato chips. For entrees, we ordered the shrimp & grits, Smoked Salmon BLT, and Fried Catfish platter with a side of Mac n cheese. Everything was cooked to perfection but the Mac n cheese was out of this world! Great food, great service and nice ambiance. What more could you ask for! This was our first trip to Sawyers but we will definitely be back.

They did a great job on the remodeled interior and the new chef has made a huge difference with some great staples in the culinary department! Great offerings along with a friendly staff and warm ambiance. Fun entertainment — one of the very few offering live music in Mt. Pleasant! Love the fire pit, and the deck:-) Love Sawyer’s on the Boulevard!

Smoked salmon blt, mac and beer cheese entrée, killer shrimp and grits. These are a few of my favorite things.

We had dinner at Sawyers last night and it was perfect. We tried the fried green tomato chips and wow great idea. Thin sliced small green tomatoes lightly battered and served with spicy ranch, winner all the way. Then moved onto Smoked Salmon BLT on Texas Toast again winner! We’ve eaten there several times now and its been very good every time. The live music from 6 – 9 and the new atmosphere is what Mt Pleasant has been needing. Ronnie & Kim are onto something and the Chef and staff deliver.

The new look is a big change from what was Buddyroes, much classier looking.
The new chef is a major step up with smoked salmon, mac n cheese, smoked wings and great shrimp.
Love the fire pit and courtyard!

Tried this spot for lunch today. We sat outside on the patio overlooking a somewhat disheveled pond with trash lying around. It needs some work! The lunch was great. I had a shrimp po boy & coleslaw. It was a generous serving on both & actually was very good. $ 11.30. Not bad. Bar on the inside, quiet place, mind of non de script. Big TV’s. Apparently this place is under new ownership & for me hard to find but I did with WAZE. I would return here. Good for lunch & a catch up with friends without the distraction of crowds.
