Went there for dinner because other places were closed. Very regrettable experience. Staff was rude, their recommended food was not great. I left my jacket there, called them after 15 minutes to tell them I was picking it up in a couple of minutes. They closed the restaurant without even telling me and way before the closing time.

I have tried many Chinese restaurants in mountain view and Sunnyvale and yuck this place is awful! I ordered chow mein, general tso chicken and pot stickers. The chicken was so rubbery, the pot stickers were the worse I’ve ever tasted even hole in the wall places I’ve tasted better at and the chow mein was dry and really ashy tasting. This place is over priced and does not put quality in their food. It was not worth the 35 I spent. I will never order here again.

Their food was okay but I was pretty disappointed in how small the portions were, especially for the price! I have to say that I was pretty impressed that I could order through Unilocal though.

People must be on drugs writing good reviews here. They are pretty expensive given they don’t accept credit cards($ 28 for two dishes and one rice for dinner?!) I guess their main business is catering since the restaurant itself is a hole in the wall and not the friendliest service. We had kung pao shrimp which was decent and hunan chicken which was super fried(like more than a KFC wing) with bones etc in it.

Terrible food, bad taste. Very small portion and very expensive. Won’t try again! There are tons of similar Chinese restaurants. So, definitely avoid this one!

Do not order from this place. If I have an option I would not even give this place a star. First of all, the portion is really small for the price, second the food taste really stale. On of my order was orange chicken, all I could taste was deep fried flour and sweet sauce. On top of all this, the delivery guy demanded and threatened me to give him more tips, he would not leave and stand there arguing with me that he deserves at least 20% tips for delivered 2 buildings over. It’s very unprofessional to demand more tips but arguing at a business professional setting. This place is a giant NO.

We’ve frequented Chef Xiu a few times since my first review, and we recently came on Sunday night before attending a movie and it’s still as delicious as my original review. My significant other and I were getting over a cold so we decided to order the Hot and Sour soup. Delicious! It was really hot and really sour and opened up our sinuses but in a good and yummy way. I ordered my favorite dish Sesame Chicken which came out perfectly crispy and the sauce was a good combination of sweet and a little tangy. My significant other ordered the Chef Special Chicken and it was more on the salty side(not fried) and with lots of veggies. My significant other loves salty food so it was a good choice for him. Advice for future Unilocalers: try eating at the restaurant. Yes, it is a small hole in the wall but some of these one sentence Unilocalers saying how dirty or how they don’t have good lunch specials seem to judge this place too quickly. The décor is much nicer than what it was before, and it is a small place so don’t expect a 5 star restaurant feel to it. Also, we’ve ordered food to go before and for anything fried, it won’t be as good as when you eat it at the restaurant(like with any fried food ordered to go). If you want to taste how delicious the crab cheese wontons and fried chicken entrees are, I suggest you eat at the restaurant and don’t forget the cash!

Never come back. OMG, so dirty place, man who cook did everything without gloves, and even getting payment. Mongolian beef«to go», when opened I saw all box is entirely onions, onions, onions, and a little bit beef. Quality is less then 1, can’t imagine what this place on El Camino real in Mountain View… I just hope I will not have a trouble with my stomach. And, finally, Cash only. Hope this place will get Closed. And what you think about prices-it’s f… expensive!

Ordered delivery from here for the first time tonight. We were quoted a 45 minute delivery time but the food arrived in about 30 minutes or so. The food was hot and fresh and still really crispy! Ordered the Chinese chicken salad, vegetable chow mein, orange chicken, and sweet and sour pork. Everything was delicious! We will definitely order from Chef Xui again. Mmmmmm!!!

Dirty hole in the wall restaurant. Gave it a try because most times those places turn out to be really good. Water tasted like soap mixed with very bad tap water, ended up ordering a orange soda. Very greasy, over fried and not cheap. Maybe we ordered the wrong items but I doubt it, will NOT be going back! My stomach hurt the whole day

I gave 5 stars last time, because it was tasty. This time, definitely 1. My friend and I entered there at 9 p.m.(the restraunt closes at 9:30) The owners/workers were watching TV and no customers. The guy said they were going to close soon, so we were kicked out. If they want to kick out customers at 9, they should annouce closing at 8 p.m.

Recommend by a dear friend he likes Chef Xiu a lot. I came here with my family and we ordered a few different dishes to share we had the appetizer pot sticker, Wonton soup, Mongolian Beef, and Honey walnut prawns. All these dishes were AMAZING! I love their Honey walnut prawns the most. My family fell in love with this place.

I think this place has new ownership. It’s horrible. Service was terrible considering we were the only ones there. We had to walk up to the front desk to ask for bowls. The food was unforgivably bad. We ordered braised pork and they gave us pork pieces in sauce and the pork was probably cooked in soup before. The meat was so dry and had a stale flavor. Yes, it tasted like they re-purposed pork for our dish. Unforgivable. I hope this place closes down ASAP so something better can pop up. Waste of precious real estate.

I got their delivery since I was too lazy to go out. The meal was average by delivery was fast. I would probably order from them again(for delivery) but I wouldn’t dine there. walnut prawns(4⁄5) — I think their walnut prawns are quite average comparing to those served at other restaurants. However, since I like walnut prawns as a dish, I’m giving it a 4⁄5. Braised egg plants(3⁄5) — Pretty good, very soft but also quite oily. mixed fried rice(shrimp pork and chicken)(3⁄5) — average fried rice baby bok choy with garlic(2.5÷5) — Very oily.

I was curious about this place after driving by at least 100 times already. Decided to stop here for lunch on Saturday. Yes, it’s a big hole in the wall, with bad parking. However, what’s inside is much much worse. What is it with Chinese restaurants and rudeness? People really shouldn’t open a business if they don’t have an ounce of service, and it kills them to smile. We were greeted with a grunt and gesture as to where to sit. Then thrown menus. My hub gave me a look as in «where the hell did you take me!!? And why??» My reply was let’s try a new place. Huge mistake! Ordered wok fried string beans, combination chow mein, and Mongolian chicken. Every time the unpleasant waiter threw down the dish, I said thanks, but after the 2nd one, why bother? Obviously manners aren’t very important here. Each dish was extremely salty, and very oily. I even had to order some rice so I could try to eat some of it. I ended up eating very little and my stomach was queasy after leaving this fine dining experience. Yuck, will not come here again.

I decided to go back since it looks like they have a different owner since my bad experience here. Result. Better food, a lot better experience! They have a lot of food selections. Lunch specials r reasonably priced at 7.95 and come with free soup n salad. I didn’t order lunch specials menu but I saw other tables who did AnD the portion looked pretty generous for the price. I love my combination fried rice. Very fragrant n flavorful. They also put lots of beef, chicken n shrimp. The string beans were flavorful but it’s just not my favorite veggies AnD a bit greasy. I ordered the fried lamb ribs came sprinkled with a good dose of cumin+salt+msg powder. The lamb was tender… for some they maybe a bit dry but I liked it a lot. The cumin helped to get rid of the gameyness a bit… Not loving the msg but come on… It’s expected at a Chinese restaurant. Once a while is fine! Service was friendly AnD there was only one man handling the busyness of the lunch crowds but he worked efficiently. Most importantly, He was very courteous and friendly. Will certainly come back! Ps: u can enter from the back door if u parked behind the restaurant.
