I read a lot of reviews about nearby Cantonese restaurants and how they are «The Best».
China Wok wins my nomination for «Best Cantonese» in the area hands down. This is not a glamorous location, actually far from it. It is some what run down, tucked in behind a gas station and across the street from an auto parts store. But the food shines through and the service is friendly.
Stand outs for me are the Salty Fish & Chicken fried rice, Ong Choy w/​garlic, Steamed Chicken and OMG (not on the menu) Preserved Vegetables w/​Fatty Pork!!!
Check out the Daily Specials Board or ask about what’s fresh. They also do your American’ized Chinese standards quite well.
Why not 5 stars? A successful trip to the outside bathroom is worthy of the Congressional Medal of Honor. But it is a small price to pay for such excellent food.

China Wok has become my favorite place to come get Chinese food. When I come here I order the C1 which includes half rice, half chow mien, egg roll, and the soup of the day. I have also ordered the broccoli beef and string bean chicken and they are satisfying. The only thing i wish is that they had a bigger selection of soup.

It’s a typical run-​of-​the-​mill Chinese restaurant serving Hong Kong style crusine. Pretty authentic and kudos that they have a variety of dishes for their vegetarian menu. Not a vegetarian myself, but I like coming here with my vegetarian friends because I know they appreciate that there is a variety of dishes from which they can choose.

I was looking for some good stir-​fry noodles. Ordered the Beef Noodles and got exactly what i was looking for. Noodles were great. I also ordered the Fried Prawns that came with a sweet dipping sauce and enjoyed those as well. Responsive service and good food.

If I want to eat Chinese food and I am a bit far away, I drive all the way from where I am, and eat at China Wok. (Ex: the city, Santa Cruz, San Jose, etc)

Went to this place with my parents tonight for dinner. We ordered chicken chow fun, chicken fried rice and wonton soup. The portions are really good and the prices are pretty good too. I was surprised by the friendly and warm staff (not the usual in my experience when I’ve been to Chinese restaurants).
A little odd that the bathroom is outside and around the corner, but I guess the fresh air was nice.

My dining companion Geri is vegetarian, so we stuck to the page of vegetarian options. The Sizzling Rice Soup had a fresh and clean broth, crispy snow peas, and quite good vegetarian chicken. And Geri had never had Sizzling Rice Soup so I enjoyed her delight when they put the crispy rice in and it went «Sssssss.» She liked it so much we got it on a second occasion. Other dishes weve liked: Tofu Veggie Chicken Clay Pot was rich and flavorful and the Veggie Chicken String Beans had the green beans perfectly crisp-​tender. And there are Xmas lights in all windows year round!

Don’t ever leave anything behind here. I have been a been a loyal customer of this restaurant for years. Untill recently my son left his ipad behind. I truly felt conformable knowing I left it behind at a restaurant where I come to pretty much every weekend it would be safe and that they would hold on to it for me. But this was not the case I was told that they give away or donate whatever is left. I dont understand why they would donate or give away my ipad knowing im a regular customer that comes on a regular basis weekly almost. And this is why I give a one star I would give it none but I must give a rating .I feel that my trust was broken! I will never come her or recommend this place to anybody

This place has been beloved to me for many years… The vegetarian dishes are tasty and hearty and varied, and we always get the most wonderful welcome. Tonight I introduced China Wok to Michael, and he returned the favor by introducing me to vegetarian chicken sizzling rice soup; we also had the hostess-​recommended tofu veggie clay pot. Happiness here abounds.

If I could give it less stars I would. HORRIBLE service horrible food!!! Mediocre flavor and when I wanted a refund for the bad taste they refused to give me a refund even though NOWHERE is it stated no refunds. It baffles me how a business can straight out refuse to give a refund for a bad service/​good received. Bad business

After having eaten the Mongolian chicken here I became ill for several days. The first night I had explosive diarrhea whilst vomiting, and it was quite the shuffle to not destroy my poor bathroom. My wife also had the same issue and the two of us in the same bathroom trying to vacate our total of 4 holes expelling waste was not a fun experience at 2 in the morning. If this sounds like your kind of night then this place is for you! Otherwise go to Chef Chu’s up the street, it does not make you shit and vomit at the same time.

The best thing about the place: its service. The people who work there smile a lot and look happy to help you recommend food or whatnot. That’s why they get two stars.
The food though, ehh. they drown the food in sauce. I had cashew chicken and the sauce was way too much. I wanted to wash a lot of it off. It wasn’t just the cashew chicken. The pan-​fried noodles took a bath in sauce also.
The walnut shrimp was below average. Nothing special.
The steamed white rice was good. That’s a plus!
Chinese food should be light in flavor, not overpowered by thick, high fructose syrupy sauce.

Not bad, I was expecting a lot worse due to the decaying restaurant look, was was pleasantly surprise. The food here was actually extremely good! The service was quick and the servers actually were nice to you. I will defiantly will be returning back… now if only they had delivery.

I used to come often when I lived nearby.
this place has the very best soups of all Chinese eateries I have been to.
The lady owner is wonderfully warm and hospitable (it is a family-​owned place).
Orange and lemon chicken are great, and so is sauteed eggplant — yum!
They are open late, too.
If you are feeding a lot of kids with their friends, the big round tables are just right for that.

. Since we didn’t have much selection for lunch one day, I decided to check out China Wok and order the Lunch Special: Twice Cooked Pork w/​White Rice ($ 8.50,
). That was a mistake since this is not the twice cooked pork I expected. This version is not authentic at all, since the pieces of pork are thick versus thinly sliced. The flavor of the dish was ok, but the quality of the pork wasn’t very good since you could taste a pork-​y flavor. The only positive is that they didn’t skimp on the rice and gave you a huge serving. However, I would not order this dish again, and would have to think twice about ordering other items from here based on this experience.

Being the only ones here for lunch, does not mean we should have slow service. The wonton soup is so small and pretty pricey. We ordered a decent amount of items, given we only have 1 hr of lunch break, they took a long while to serve the food. Two stars because the orange chicken was good, but the wonton that I ordered is not that great.
