Oily and tastes terrible. Was hungry so stopped by here and could not even finish half before i left. 15 min later, my stomach is doing somersaults. Stay away from this place.

How can you go wrong with takeout… right? Wrong. Stopped in for a late lunch before heading to Walmart; as I was pretty hungry, generally love Chinese, and takeout is usually cheap, I thought I made a great decision. Hindsight tells me I should’ve checked Unilocal first, not second. First off, the place does not look very great on the inside(probably a sign). A lot of the items were also near empty when I stopped in(you would think they would get refilled this early in the day…). Both the items and the drinks were on the expensive side, yet the serving size they give is actually small, they actually charge for refills(really???), and the food tasted pretty horrendous on top of that. Meat not cooked well at all, fried rice was 1% fried and 99% rice, and both were rough and hard to eat. I can’t believe they actually charge well above the average for this, I wouldn’t pay a penny for this, it’s the definition of cheap and sketchy food. If that wasn’t bad enough, I threw up an hour after and am relatively sure I got food poisoning from their terrible meat. I ate McDonald’s at the Walmart after and thought I was in heaven, that’s how bad it was(arguably I do actually enjoy McDonald’s for reasons beyond my knowledge). This placed should be inspected and closed down, if not sued. I love Chinese and takeout in general, but this was hands down the worst I’ve ever been to, and by a longshot at that.

This place is really, really bad. First off, their 2 item plate is not truly the typical 2 item plate which can be deceiving. The rice you get counts as one of the items, so they should just call it a 1 item plate. They then microwave your food right after they dish it up from the hot plates in front of you. The fried rice looks to me as though they threw in a bag of frozen veggies. They are definitely not fresh. Skip this place and go to Hunan Homes!

It is what it is. Half-decent, fast-food, steam table Chinese food. Seriously, what else can I say? Three stars says it all. It will prevent you from being hungry anymore.

The best thing I had was the General Chicken. It was really spicy most places isn’t as spicy. The BBQ pork bun was as expected but the hot and sour soup was everything but. It bland no taste and the same for the chow mien.

Heavy Chinese food. Heavy on the salt and MSG. Styrofoam carryouts and plastic bags. What is not to like?!? On some days, I’m absolutely craving this type of ‘soul’ food and the Whole Foods down the street just ain’t cutting it. Would I come here on my off day? Definitely not. Does this satisfy any immediate needs for Chinese food? Absolutely.

This is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Walking in, I expected it to be typical, cheap, decent Chinese food. I was wrong. Where to begin. They microwaved my cold and flavorless food in a microwave in front of me. Hot and sour soup was too starchy, and the General Tso’s chicken was just fatty chunks of chicken cooked in sriracha. I choked on a huge chunk of lo-mein that was stuck together like I just took a bite of a week old, sun-dried dumpling. Oh and no refills on soda. Good one. I had an awful taste in my mouth after the meal, and felt sick for the rest of the day. Forget HACCP and OSHA, they need the CDC in here. There is nothing lucky about this place.

Oh man, I wish I had checked Unilocal before accompanying my coworkers here… I could have spared myself the stomach ache! The food tasted okay, but was extremely greasy. The chow fun, while a novel offering, is bland. The mixed vegetables seemed okay, but I felt extremely sick afterwards. The free hot & sour soup was a nice touch, but the soup has so much cornstarch that it is more the consistency of gravy. The food is cheap, and it shows.

I guess I agree with the rest of the reviews and Unilocal’s explanation of 2 stars as «I’ve experienced better.» I’d describe Lucky Express as similar to Panda Express because of the style of food. It’s definitely Americanized Chinese food, as evident by the types of dishes they have available. They have a couple different combos, which all provide a decent amount of food for the price. They also have multiple microwaves to heat up the food before they give it to you, but that just means it’s not fresh. I usually only come here to order the Combination Noodle Soup. The soup and the noodles are just average, but I really like the meat they use. There’s chicken, beef, bbq pork, shrimp, broccoli, and snow peas on top of a huge pile of noodles and soup. I think I’d probably give this dish 3 stars, but everything else 2. They used to have way more selection and customers, but I guess people aren’t really into Americanized Chinese food as much anymore, at least outside of food courts in malls.

I’ve passed by this place so many times, I decided to give it a try after a trip to Joann’s left me super hungry. Only one word to describe the food: salty. I asked for the 2 item combo. And I asked if I could get half chow mein and half fried rice and the girl said yes. First item was black pepper chicken. which ended up to be fried pieces of breaded chicken in a ridiculously salty goopy sauce, that left everything a soggy mess. The 2nd item I ordered the bean curd and mushroom, which was pretty much the same thing. When I went to the counter to pay, they charged me for 3 items. When I corrected the cashier of her mistake she told me that the chow mein was the 3rd item. Supposedly there was a sign somewhere, which I didn’t see. Not like it’s a big deal, but the girl helping me could have at least told me I would be charged extra. Especially when I clearly asked for a 2 item combo. The combo came with a soup. I’m guessing it was hot and sour soup? I took a little taste and it was immediately discarded in the trash. The fried rice and chow mein were the only thing really edible. They were both underseasoned, but that’s a lot better than my tongue being overloaded with salt. The fried rice wasn’t anything more than rice with undercooked vegetables mixed in. No matter how hungry I am, I will not be coming back to this place again.

Food too salty. Frankly, I would prefer panda express over this.

It was the worst chinese food I ever had. First, the food is warmed in a microwave. And that is not what should happen in chineses restaurants. Second, the 2 women behind the counter were rude. They were bothered by having to take care of customers. Third, I picked 2 items and the plate was less than half full when I got it. Fourth, the place was dirty: the tables were half-assed clean. It is bad food, rude service, and the amount of food was less than normal. Clearly I won’t go there ever again nor to any of the other locations. I wish I asked for a refund!

I was out shopping today and before I knew it was 12:00 pm and I hadn’t eaten breakfast so I was ravy. Didn’t want MacDonald from inside the Walmart so I walked over to Lucky Express. 2 items $ 6.75 with small bowl of hot & sour soup. I got the chow mein & broccilli beef. I had to ask the server to actually some beef to the broccilli beef since she shovel a couple of scoops of only broccilli as she pushed the beef aside. I was hungry so I ate this mess and the hot & sour soup was neither hot nor sour but thick, icky & cellulosy/mucousy, gross. When I was done eating this disaster there was a layer of grease on the plate. So this was the atmosphere: Chinese speaking folks behind the counter, several spanish speaking people speaking loudly on cell phones, Prince pumping through the airwaves, hindi looking young man busing tables and the big fat Buddah sitting in the corner. Only in America baby.

They heat up your food in a microwave. Shouldn’t the food just be hot always? I hope I didn’t eat anything that’s going to kill me. Nothing tastes good. Over battered over sauced over fatted. Gross.

So I tend to not like buffets ever since a bad experience at a hotel in Cancun a few years ago(gnats! ew!!), but I needed to grab something quickly on the way back to work after shopping at Target, and I was craving Chinese chicken salad. My coworker recommended the salad at Lucky Express, so I decided to give it a try. It wasn’t that bad. My friend thought the salad had no dressing, but I didn’t notice because the rest of the salad was flavorful enough for my taste. I’m picky about eggrolls and potstickers, but even those almost measured up to my standards. Overall: Not great, but not bad. I might eat there again.

The people were friendly and the service was fast. It is reasonably priced and the food tasted REALLYGOOD. The thing that really sucked though, was hanging out on the toilet for an hour after. The pain was not worth the yummy tasting food! So I’d recommend finding somewhere else that is more healthy and doesn’t tear your stomach to shreds.

1 ½ stars This experience wasn’t bad enough for me to justify 1 star, so I threw in ½ extra. I stopped by here for lunch during a weekend class I was taking. Only reason I came here is because I was still drunk from the night before and the sign«looked cool». hahaha, started off funny because I ordered vegetable chow mein and was trying to figure out what else I wanted she got annoyed and started punching her fist on the counter to «inconspicuously» tell me to hurry the eff up. I ordered the broccoli beef w/steamed rice(to absorb some alcohol and help me sober up). Total came out to $ 7.85. I grabbed a container that looked like chili paste and sat down. the chili paste tasted like goddamn salt and vinegar!!! I put that crap away and tried the food w/o hot sauce. GARBAGE. This food made chinese food at the mall food court taste like effing gourmet chinese food. Don’t waste your time/money on this dump.

Wheel Works across the street hadn’t even taken my car into their little workshop after 30 minutes so I decided I was hungry and couldn’t wait. I walked around the little plaza and decided on Lucky. It said«distinctive Chinese food» which is what got me. The worst Chinese food I have ever had in my life. Prices were reasonable, equivalent of Panda Express(6.50 for chow mein and 2 entrees), and they include a bowl of soup. Loaded with starch like someone below me mentioned, this food is inedible. I had general tsao’s chicken and sweet and sour chicken. The entrees are all displayed behind a glass counter so you can look at each and decide which one you want from there, none of them looked appealing. They don’t even have orange chicken. After you select your food they put it on a plate and stick it in a microwave. Gross. Why is the food not kept warm? Is that not unsanitary? No MSG.

Well, I don’t have to go here again. Just short of a sickening«I hope I never have to…» It’s not the worst really cheap chinese I’ve ever had, but there are so many other places to try that I won’t eat here again. The highlight, if you can call it that, was the fried rice, if you can call it that. It was really more of just rice with bits of veggies(I think some meat) in it. But it wasn’t overly salty like the rest of the meal and that’s why it was the highlight. They advertise«No MSG,» but I think they make up for it by mindlessly pouring regular sodium into everything. The lemon chicken was more breading than chicken. The pepper chicken was unrecognizable as meat. The brocolli beef was ok, if salty. My daughter spit out the beef & said, «not yummy,» though the brocolli was her favorite part of the meal. We had a pork bun. The bun part was sweet and yummy. The BBQ pork was more pork flavored gelatin. I don’t think there was actually any pork in it. The hot & sour soup was as bad as it looked. It reminded me of the sewage flood that hit my old apartment some years ago. Didn’t smell much better either. We left full, if not satisfied,. I didn’t feel sick afterwards, which is why this won;t go on my «I hope I never have to» list. I might decide gto have some fried rice here again if I’m with someone who can’t be steered in another direction, but this shopping center has a dearth of decent food.
