I’m usually hesitant to try new places to eat. Thankfully I have a husband who is culinarily adventurous. Stopped by here for a quick bite and had a 6 piece chicken wing basket and fries. A-MAZ-ING. I LOVE food, so it’s easy for me to order a large quantity and finish it, but since I’d never been here, I decided just to order the smaller portion. The wings were perfectly done, falling off the bone with a lot of meat. I hate wings that are so overdone where the meat has completely shrunk to nothing. But these-so good. And the buffalo sauce was amazing as well. Not too vinegary, right bit of spice. The seasoning on the fries was perfect! Definitely going to come back!

Have heard all kinds of things about this place for a couple years now. …since it’s up the street from my alma mater, Mountlake Terrace HS., and they are so involved in the community. My allergies are killing me so I didn’t feel like being social. Luckily they have online ordering thru ChowNow. .so I was able to view the whole menu and order my lunch the way I wanted it. I placed an order to be picked up at 1:15pm, and received an email saying it would be ready early. I got the Devil’s Spit Habenero Burger, onion rings, and the skinny fries. The restaurant is small, had quite a few patrons, I liked the checks they had posted showing money they’ve raised for the community. I was in and out… headed back home. Thought I’d try an onion ring while I was driving… BAD choice. .they were so greasy(yes I realize they are cooked in grease) that it dropped all down my hand and dripped on my chest. They were mushy on the inside and just super greasy. I was worried about how the rest of the meal was going to go. The burger was messy. .but in a good way. So much flavor! The fries were a little salty for my taste, but the fry sauce was insanely good. So for my first review of this place I’d have to say it was thumbs up. Their menu has enough to offer that I’m sure I’ll try it again… maybe even eat inside. .maybe even take some of the monsters with me.

My 5 year old and I enjoyed a quick dinner here! The ambiance could use a little something– the only reason for the 4 star instead of 5. Food was classic bbq tasting burgers and sides. We will be returning local customers!

I’ve been here three times in hopes I just catch them on an off night. Yeah I’m not impressed with this place. The menu is too big, there’s waaaaay too many choices. Also the burgers are pretty small and the buns always taste stale. Servers are always nice and prompt though.

1 extra star for community involvement. My burger was decent although they say on the menu they cook to order, however the burger wasn’t thick enough to really cook med rare. Onion rings we exceptional. Over all I would definitely eat here again and just get a double burger! Keep up the good work red onion!!!

The cooks are fucking worthless that can’t read an order. she wrote down my order and they still got it wrong. The fries were fried in the same oil as their fish and chips. Tasted terrible, never going there again.

My boyfriend and I moved to the area last year and noticed this place right away. It seems like a good burger shouldn’t be hard to find but after trying so many other places this is our favorite by far. We have eaten here a handful of times and picked up food to go, the service and food was fantastic every time. We don’t eat out often but when we do I’m glad they are one of our closest options! Our favorites are the Miami Heat Chicken burger and the Devils Spit Habanero Burger. Yummm. Oh and A+ for having ice cream.

I really wanted to like it. Good kids menu and nice local place but the burger was terrible. It looked pretty and had nice garnish but the meat was over cooked and thin and I have a hard time understand how anyone could call it a good burger. It was like you would get at a ski valley or cafeteria.

If I could give out a six star review, this would get it. The burgers are Red Robin quality at two-thirds the price. Service isn’t particularly fast, so many people do take out. But what really makes this restraunt shine is their community involvement. I’ve seen candy drives around halloween, fundraisers for a family who lost a child to cancer, and more — all in the several months since we discovered the Red Onion. Keep up the amazing work in the community!

It’s pretty good. The servers were nice and friendly, but our order to go did take a little while. The fries and onion rings were tasty and the burgers were pretty much standard burger joint status. It’s good, and we’ll be back, but probably not too soon.

I can appreciate a good burger and this place did not disappoint. I was a little concerned seeing the 2 servers both eating on the side all the while getting me a refill her fingers on my cup. The burger was very good cooked perfectly fries were good too I cant wait to go back!

Lots of items to choose from and clean = 3 stars. For the service it was horid, we waited 15 mins and left because no one came by to take our order. They were busy doing walk-ins.

Was not at all impressed with the food or even the selection of food… To be quite honest it didn’t seem that there was much to choose from and it was quite pricy for the quality of food you received. Two stars because he is always working with local charities and high school kids to rises money for good causes… Plus the 75 cent cones were delicious but yeah, over all the menu needs some additions as well as the quality of the food.

Really amazing and filling burgers. The shakes here are delicious as well. I’m glad that mountlake terrace has a local burger joint that is this good.

Service was good, atmosphere was questionable, food was generally good. The details, last time we visited it was obvious that we could sit down and there was table service. This time, it seems set up for ordering at the counter and then grabbing a number and sitting down and having a server bring out the food and quite frankly I think this is how they should do it. It would solve a few issues. The seating is terrible, the place is cramped, there used to be a wall to your left when you came in. This visit, the wall is gone and where the wall used to be was one very tall table, that would have accommodated tall chairs, but instead was surrounded by benches too short to sit at and someone left their tools on the table. There is a counter with stools on the right, where people should be able to sit, but there were too many chairs crammed into the space so it wasn’t inviting and the counters seemed on the shallow side. We were ushered to the only table at the back of the restaurant. There is a bench that seated our table and the table perpendicular. This space was so cramped that I had to push the table away from the bench and my spouse was backed into the perpendicular table that the lady sitting behind hubby had to have the person next to her move so she could get up to go to the ladies room. Also the long bench that I sat on wrapped around the corner that every time the kid at the table perpendicular moved the whole bench shook. I had to ask the server to turn off the sound on the TV because my head was up against the TV speaker. Along with the cramped conditions there is a table in a cubbyhole across from our table and if you know physics you’ll know that I heard every word of the conversation at that table. These folks weren’t loud it’s just the way this horrible space is set up. On to the food, We ordered«tempura» vegetables, the unfortunately named Irish Setter Reuben sliders and a sandwich that I couldn’t find on the menu. The tempura was overcooked by tempura standards, basically the cook is taking a handful of vegetables and sliced pickles, dousing them in tempura batter and dropping it by fistfuls in the fryer. This has potential, because the pickles actually add something to the mess, but tempura it isn’t. The clumps of vegetables were difficult to eat because it was a knotted mess. Yeah, I know it’s a burger joint, so why would I expect good tempura, but if they are going to put it on the menu they should do it right. Would you order something named after a dog? If it had a dog name in it, would you expect a hot dog instead of a burger? The name of the Irish Setter Reuben Sliders is not appealing, but the sliders were reported to me as good. There were three and it was sauerkraut with chopped corned beef and a slider burger topped with thousand island dressing. So the third item, I don’t remember if the name was the same last time I ordered this but what I was looking for on the menu was a teriyaki chicken sandwich with a slice of pineapple on it. I’ve had this twice before and could not for the life of me find it on the menu – the menu was a mess! There was so much stuff on it, I couldn’t figure out in which section I could find the sandwich, then the server and she was a peach by the way, told me it was the Miami Heat Chicken«Burger» — so what about this sandwich says Miami? Teriyaki isn’t from Miami, and there is no heat in this sandwich. The sandwich was good none the less. The name of this place is a hint of one of its biggest problems. The name listed here on Unilocal is not the name on their website. Several months back there was a plan to open a second restaurant which was to include hot dogs. I guess that didn’t pan out so they’ve redone the menu at this location and added more stuff including the hot dogs. There’s an overwhelming amount of food on the menu and it’s difficult to read, though our server said they were revamping it. Thing is, it was revamped from our last visit and even our server had difficulty finding items on the menu. Regarding the BBQ in the name, not sure what they have, it didn’t stand out on the menu and I’d doubt it would live up to the better BBQ places in the area. I’d recommend take-out instead of eating in here.

This was my first time coming here, and it was pretty good. I had the sliders and the blueberry cheesecake milkshake. The sliders were juicy and the bread was soft, but not too soft that it will get soggy. But what really made this place special was the blueberry cheesecake milkshake. Man, that was bomb!!! it was so good I could order like 5 of them and I will not get tired of it. This place is a great place to check out of you are around that area!!!

I have never been so insulted in my life. I don’t get out much due to my recent divorce but my brother and I decided to treat ourselves. The waitress(some smug 19 – 21 year old) came over and I asked what beers are on tap. She described 2 one of which was an IPA. I’m 50 so probably not as hip as everyone so I asked what that meant. She SNEERED at me and said«you don’t know what an IPA Is!!! WEIRD»…no sorry I don’t. And it was a pleasure giving you a ZERO for your tip. The food was awesome. The service however has made my decision for me NEVER to go back. Too bad.

Wow, the reviews are really all over the map for this place. My husband and I just had 3 hot dogs from here to celebrate national hot dog day and they were delicious. He had the New York and the Chili Dog. I had the Seattle. The Chili is spicy but bearable according to my husband. We ordered to go. Minus one star for when I asked for no blue cheese on my Seattle and the person taking my order said it could be done but that it «wouldn’t truly be a Seattle Blue then». I had to explain my dietary restrictions to her so she got the point. Overall, we will be back to try the other items. They have a big enough menu, lots of specials(Thursdays hot dogs are $ 3!) and they have ice cream.
