The waitress was friendly and the water tasted great. That’s about all I liked unfortunately. Moldy bread is pretty hard to swallow.

Food was ok, had the Philly. Server all over the place but nice. Made me uncomfortable and felt a little run down, lack of care. Won’t be returning.

Low prices Satisfactory food Good portions The hash brown was crispy but too oily Size of coffee mugs is huge The place needs to be cleaned up. Tables are sticky other dusty surfaces The elderly lady server is loopy… either she is on something or she should be on something ! The joint scores on price and food prep but poor grades for service.

I always wanted to try this place because it looks very interesting from the outside and seems to be always closed… must be doing great business. I almost jumped for joy when husband made a turn into the driveway for our brunch today. Okay, the place looked run down, and you seat yourself. No greeting from anybody… fine…we still liked to support local business. Husband ordered plain old scrambled eggs… wheat toasts… I ordered the scrambled eggs with mushroom and sausage, hash browns and wheat toasts. Coffee was fine. Nothing to say about it. Everything was greasy. The hash browns was burnt to black. The eggs were the worst we’ve ever had… I could have done better. Husband’s eggs were half over cooked, half under cooked all mumble jumbo. Mine was extremely over cooked and greasy… we ended up eating only the toasts and left the rest on the plates. When we came up to pay and saw the kitchen, we almost threw up… it was filthy!!! For over 30 bucks for the 2 of us, it was a complete ripoff… We are no snobby people when it comes to food, but this place seriously needs a visit from the Health Department. We regretted that we didn’t check out Unilocal before coming in… OMG…still can not get the image of that filthy kitchen out of my head…

I was looking for breakfast and landed here at Weller’s. This café is very cozy and the older gentleman working(I think he and his wife own the place) is very kind. The prices are good and the food served is fresh and cooked well. Some people have commented about how untidy the restaurant is, which is a bit true, but with only an older couple running it and how much work they do to serve the customers/stay on top of filling drinks/building rapports with returning customers, I feel like they’re doing a great job. The food is great, the customer service is great, I will be returning soon :)

We will definitely be returning. It’s cheaper then most places, the food was amazing, and the guy working there was very nice. Everything was fresh, my husband had an denver omlet and I had waffles which we split both items. The waffles were soft and fluffy, pre buttered with whipcream and fresh strawberries. The omlet was hands down the best we have had in a while. Everything tasted fresh, which honestly that was a huge bonus for us. The only draw back was the place was a bit grungy, but seriously this guy is running grill, waiting on customers, and refilling coffee without help so Im not sure how he would have time to tidy up. If you people was spotless diner fare maybe you should cheap out one of the nu hipster dives in Seattle. If you want awesome home style food with friendly service at a reasonable price then this is your place.

I had looked forward to a breakfast from Wellers for a long time. My kitchen is under construction and I called in an order for 2 of the Scrambles with potatoes, cheese, onion etc with sourdough toast. It was the WORST breakfast we have ever had! It was greasy and had burnt bits of black onion and I thought I got a rock in that mess! The toast was not really even toast it wasn’t toasted much. I knew I was in trouble when I walked in the place and there was only 2 people drinking coffee and the kitchen floor was filthy. I can only guess that the grease was really old. I could not eat the whole breakfast, it was so bad! One good thing is that I have more than one bathroom as that is where we spent the rest of the day! Never Again! Renee E.

Been coming here for years. The food here is amazing and very reasonably priced. Great service too. Best Monte Cristos around. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

I’m a big fan of looking for the positive and supporting local businesses… and…we had breakfast at Wellers Speedway Café this morning and our experience matched many of the negative reviews. My «ham» was actually bologna. And it was burnt. Scrambled eggs were fine and pancakes were way above average. My partner’s scramble was greasy, but the portion was large. The hash browns were the cheap frozen kind and were also greasy. Unfortunately, the comments about Wellers being dirty are accurate. When we kindly pointed out the black stuff on the white coffee cups, the waitress immediately countered with, «They’re just stained, but they’re clean.»(In general, the waitress was friendly – only fair to mention this.) After she left I was able to scratch a lot of the«stain» off with my thumbnail. Hmmm. A bunch of other things are dirty, too, per the other reviews. I don’t mind eating at a «greasy spoon» from time-to-time when the food is good, but this food was subpar and the place is gross. Too bad, because the space is light and bright and the prices are very low. But for what? Pass.

Walked out feeling dirty. Wellers is a proper greasy spoon without the bar seating or atmosphere. We decided to forego the recommendation for Ivar’s, opting instead for the local place. We came in on Saturday for brunch just before the noon cutoff and it was empty. The floors were sticky, tables crumby though neatly set, and the place could really use some loving care with the peeling paint and faded plastic plants(but maybe it’s part of the image they’re cultivating). I skipped the coffee because of how the mugs on the table looked, but apparently I didn’t miss much. Food was decent and took awhile to come, but maybe because everything is made to order — hash browns, veggie omelet, and OJ from a can. Glad to see a family-owned business running for so long.

The breakfast here is solid and very well affordably priced!(under $ 6 – 8). The menu includes your typical breakfast fare, but nothing out of the ordinary. They do have daily specials, and bake their own bread for the french toast. The coffee is good and decently strong. The space is warm & cozy. I love the vaulted skylights & the light it brings in! The place could use some sprucing up as well as upgrades. The establishment seems to have plenty of regulars coming in. Good sign! The café is owned by husband & wife. He cooks, and she waitresses! She does a great job bringing water, running orders, ringing up checks, & refilling coffees all by herself! The food here is a bargain, but can be more on the greasy side. Stay away from the corned beef hash, I think it’s from the can. =( You’re safe with a continental breakfast, chicken fried steak, biscuits & gravy, etc. Next time I come, I want to try the bacon waffle!

We have been family friends with the wellers for years. I love coming to this place in the morning because they have great food, and they are always friendly and love to talk when you enter. They are only open for breakfast and lunch.

I am also of guilty of driving past this small place numerous times but decided to give it a try recently. Lets just say I was presently surprised with a very good breakfast. There are alot of good breakfast joints in this area but they also hurt your pocket book a lil more for what you get. I ordered the eggs scrambled with a sausage patty and toast. My sausage patty was huge(7oz) and very tasty.($ 6.50) Had to be at least thjree eggs scrambled and my hashbrowns were crisp and plentiful. I love Mom and Pop places and if you are in a hurry this is a one man operation(least the day I visited) so don’t expect a speedy breakfast on the speedway, just expect a good value for your buck and a meal that comes hot off the grill. I’ve driven past this little place many times and always thought, hmm, I really want to check it out someday. Well, today was the day. The place is small, and wasn’t really crowded. It was pretty empty. My first thought was uh oh, that can’t be good. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food was very good and the place is very clean, and the food was very affordable. Oh and my there was plenty of it, too! I wasn’t sure what I’d get, but what I got was enough to make sure I come back.

As I left this restaurant, I told my boyfriend, «Eh, it was alright, they didn’t really pull breakfast off, but I’d like to go back to try their philly, and I think I’ll give them 3 stars on Unilocal.» So what went wrong? This restaurant has odd hours, so when I saw it was open while driving by, I thought, great! I’ve been wanting to try it for a while now. The restaurant is owned by a husband and wife. First, the coffee tasted bad. I thought that was odd, I have never really had bad coffee at a restaurant. When I brew at home, I brew cheap coffee and I never think it tastes«bad,» so it’s not like I have high standards for coffee or anything. When I saw«bacon waffle» on the menu, I was super excited! They cook bacon into the waffle and then top it with two strips of bacon. My boyfriend ordered steak and eggs(requested medium). The bacon waffle was a great idea. Probably could be a great breakfast item, but it just had no flavor and was greasy. The grease had an odd taste, as though other menu items had been cooked in it too. I couldn’t pinpoint the exact taste(my boyfriend thought it tasted a bit fishy). He asked for his steak medium, it came out well done and chewy. Because of the weird grease taste, I couldn’t eat all of the hash browns. So, all-in-all it wasn’t the best, but I had heard they make a great philly, so I figured I’d go back for that. Well, about 4 hours later, a wave of nausea hit me. I wasn’t sure what was going on. I ended up very sick(I’ll save you the details), but I hadn’t eaten anything else since and have concluded that the bacon waffle was to blame. Sadly, I will not return to this establishment. Had it not been for me getting ill, this would have been at least a mediocre review.

This is a family owned establishment. Breakfast and lunch is simple but always made to order and delicious. I love their Turkey Melt, real pulled breast of turkey, gooey cheddar cheese, tomato and crispy, buttery grilled bread. All of the daily soups are home made as well. And for a lunch fare this is very inexpensive!
