Great place for an awesome breakfast! Portions are large and the coffee is fresh. Be careful not to order more than you can eat… the portions are huge! Quick seating and good service! No complaints!:)

went here for breakfast with my family. the wait was long because they were packed but the food was actually not to bad! the service when we walked it he door was awful. granted they were busy but just short and rude but at least our server was decent and nice. the soup was Delicious! we didn’t like the pancakes at all. just tasted bland. but the rest of our breakfast items we had were pretty good! we will definitely come back and try them again.

Delicious pancakes and service has always been very good! Even when the line is out the door on a weekend morning the wait has never been more than a few minutes.

Elly’s is the bomb! They have the best eggs and hash browns. Always packed so don’t go on a Sunday between 9 – 11 you won’t be seated right away! The OJ is awesome too! The only complaint I have about Elly’s is the lady who takes your money at the end, she’s really rude and always has a puss on her face so watch out for her, she scares me.

Out for another breakfast with Dad… coffee was great and real creamer. Eggs were cooked perfectly, shredded potatoes were nice and crisp… as requested. Sausage patties were overcooked, dry, flavorless. Tried a bite of the sausage links… very moist, but salty. Kitchen was a bit slow, but waitress was very friendly and kept filling my mug… so I was ok. Anyway, we were in no rush. This place is a bit out of the way for me… but would stop back in if in the area… plus, limited breakfast choices in the area. Cost is about $ 10-$ 11 for a simple breakfast and five cups of coffee.

Somethings wrong here. Have been coming to this location since their opening & was glad to see the success as this site had been a turn over for a long time. The quality has taken a drive. First increased costs with standard items removed. I.E.- no cole slaw, no double egg order, fruit upgrade cost from fries, etc. etc. Yesterday ordered Omelet, side order of bacon, &OJ. Juice had a piece of something in it. No big deal but waitress tried to say it was a seed(not a seed) then made a fuss about me getting a new OJ. Really ?? I had not drank from the glass & I don’t want to drink from it with a foreign object floating on it. Omelet was good. Bacon– 3 slices that looked to be the microwaveable quality. Just bad. Bill $ 18.75 Tip $ 3.00 = $ 21.75 for breakfast This place will close down shortly unless the owner gets it together fast.

I have had my fair share of omelettes and the Spartan Omelette is hands down the best omelette ever! I also am obsessed with their strawberry preserves. The preserves are made in house. They’re so good that I was raving about how amazing they were after just one bite of toast! I love this restaurant!

Have been there twice. Food is good, but Service is always poor and getting worse. Will not go there anymore.

The Place has taken a turn for the worse, bad management, poor service and the prices are up! I would rather go to IHOP, than this place.

We have been to Ellys several times and are generally pleased with our experience. The most recent time, however, could be our last. The food is acceptable, the staff is friendly but not too attentive. The thing that ground my gears was the bill. Three typical breakfasts was $ 55 with the tip. I’m not sure how that happened, it could have been that they charged us a whole bunch for some freshly squeezed OJ, I dont know… what ever it was, it certainly wasnt worth it. Maury’s across town will give you a comparable experience for(LITERALLY!!!) half the money.

I’ve only been here once, and I definitely thought there are better breakfast places around. It is good for a laid back feel, and men seem to really like it. My names Ellie, so my boyfriend would always take me here because he loved it and thought the name was on point. I’d recommend it for a casual breakfast/brunch.

This will be short and sweet. I have been a customer of theirs for 5+ years. It is consistently good. If you are looking for an excellent breakfast in the Vernon Hills/Mundelein area with generous portions and prices that are beyond reasonable – Rest assured, this place is great. I recommend the bacon avocado omelette or the chorizo loaded breakfast burrito.

Juice! Juice! Juice! if you like fresh squeezed orange juice this is the breakfast spot for you. My girlfriend and I often go to Ellys for breakfast on weekends. The service is fast, the people are nice and its a very reasonably priced hearty breakfast. The dining room is always full but don’t let that scare you they somehow find a way have just enough tables.

My family has been there many times. We love the omelettes, pancakes, fruit, corned beef, and even the chicken fingers and fries. Avocado Lotto is also very good. Service has been very good too.

Met with a few friends on our way to Wisconsin for Sunday brunch. Figured it’s gotta be pretty decent considering they were really busy. Our waitress was about middle aged and she was really sweet, although I think she was very overwhelmed. The food was good, I tasted a bit of everyone else’s because she messed up the order and I never got my meal. Everyone else at our table seemed to be happy with their food. By the time I finally got my food, I had to ask for it to go since everyone else had finished eating. The manager gave us a gift card for the incident and handled the situation adequately.

They’ve got excellent hot chocolate. Ordered the cheddar chicken omelette with pancakes and hash browns. Service was quick. My main issue was the hash browns. They were semi burnt, dry and tasteless. The egg and chicken were perfectly cooked. Will visit again(and hope for a better batch of hash browns)

Went for a late lunch with the family. Walked in and stood waiting while the gentleman spent a good 7 minutes with his back to us. When he finally looked at us, it was with clear disgust that we were intruding on his work. The booth he sat us at was filthy… the waitress was frazzled… she kept telling us how there was something going on in back. How it was just crazy… Ok… we should have seen the obvious signs… oh well… First the kids were missing cutlery. Secondly, I had to request our drinks a second time when she clearly forgot them. Thirdly, my burrito was awful, my wife’s «french connection» was made wrong… Finally, when my wife politely mentioned the errors to the«gentleman» at the front… he just casually responded, «sorry, hope we get it right next time»… and walked away. Never going back.

I just paid $ 9 for an omelet with mushrooms, called Elly’s Delight, that smelled like bleach. My son liked the chocolate chip pancake from the kids menu but said that mine were better. We’ve been to this place a while ago but it was not such a disappointment then. Please fix it!
