Great food. Great prices. Seriously. The food takes awhile, but it’s worth it. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 has nothing to do with food or service– they have ceiling fans going under fluorescent lights, which creates a blinking light sensation that is a bit unnerving.

Very full, I had the biscuits & gravy combo with sausage and eggs over easy, my wife had a breakfast burrito, and my son had Franco’s skillet. All were delicious. The place was hopping on Father’s Day but the staff was still very attentive with coffee always available. A terrific experience with hot sauce right on hand. What more can you ask for?

This is a perfect breakfast place. The staff is friendly and the food is just plain good. Might be the best sausage gravy ever. The country fried steak great. The hash browns perfect, order them with onions for an extra treat. Coffee is great. The service is perfect. So glad we found this place. I love it.

Classic diner good coffee and pumpkin pancakes are the best thing here. Breakfast diners rarely impress me. I would say Maury’s is a ok. I found the service slow every time I have been here for our legendary«breakfast for lunch» with the hungry office guys. One time we were simply overlooked. Parking is a bit of a problem-street and I think there is a lot about half a block down. Staff often absent or not attentive, Food good but not stellar and if you like dirty little diners — this is the place for you.

What can you say about a perfect breakfast? I had the pumpkin pancakes, a half order of biscuits and gravy, and a side of bacon. My grandson had chocolate chip pancakes that were as big as his head! Their coffee is a homemade mix, and it is really really good. I can’t believe everything that I ordered! My pancakes were the best I’ve ever had and the biscuits and gravy had spice, but not too much. Super yummy. The atmosphere is a bit divey, but full of locals. We’re from out of town. Next time we’re here, I know where we will be having breakfast! Total bill: $ 24.99. Oh, one more thing. You don’t get one server, you get them all! I’ve never seen such teamwork! Outstanding!

Five stars hands down! Yea maybe a place needs a little remodeling here and there and maybe a little better crowd management, but what you get after all that blurs everything else. The food there is actually good and the portions are supersized. Found this place by accident couple years back and kept coming back since.

Wow. Best chilaquelles that I’ve any where… including local joints in Mexico. Fair prices. Casual diner environment. Super friendly staff. Happy to find this place.

Team serving does not do this place justice. At least not this morning. I had a hard time getting the severs attention for water and coffee refills. I ordered the healthy egg white omelette and was surprised that it came out yellow in color. Hash Browns were saturated in grease and tasteless… Inedible. The huevos rancheros was good, but not nearly good enough to make up for the rest of our breakfast experience. Back to the Liberty…

One of my favorite no frills breakfast places. Amazing food, low prices and prompt service. Be prepared to wait for a table on weekend mornings. They need a better system for organizing people waiting for tables. They don’t take names and seem to guess who is next.

First time in Chicago for my new Sailor’s graduation from boot camp. After a couple of months on a strict diet, my Sailor wanted some good old fashioned breakfast. I Unilocaled best breakfast and this fine establishment popped up. I think my new Sailor deserves a hearty breakfast. First off, beautiful town and people. The place was clean and staff was prompt and friendly. Once we ordered, the food was quick. My skillet was amazing! It was full of hash, potatoes and veggies with 2 over easy eggs. Also, it came with 2 pumpkin pancakes. My sailor had the same too. Let me say I would definitely recommend this place to locals and anyone who visits the Great Lakes area!

Yes. Very much yes. Awesome food! I got the bote de basura with regular pancakes. It’s not the biggest i’ve seen but the portions are definitely up there. The pancakes are pretty great and the pumpkin pancakes were pretty solid. The service started off really great but got really slow later even though the place got less busy and she was pretty much in the back the whole time. Expect a line, there isn’t that much seating but it is what it is. It’s not a massive place and people know the food is good so deal with it lol. I’ll more than likely be back to try something new and see if it is consistent. Also the prices are pretty great.

Checked in when I arrived, but was a bit premature in my assessment. This place had a 4 star Unilocal review, but I can only give it 3. I guess if U live in Mundelein, it would be a 4 !! Homar’s &Omelette was OK. I asked for spinach instead of peppers, and they forgot to put it in. If you order dry toast with a side of butter, they bring you some kind of sweetened butter(guess it might be OK with pancakes). If you want real butter, it’s 50 cents extra! Upside, this place serves its community. Great place for families. The servers were very friendly. They even have a «VIP» bulletin board for patrons that have passed away. Yup, photos of folks no longer with us.(Not sure how I feel about that !!) Next time I need a bite to eat on my way to the outlet mall in WI, I don’t think I’d make the 4 mile detour.(just sayin’)

Found a hair in my omelette… First time ordering from here. Heard good things. I ordered carry out the mauri omelette and Hawaiian omelette. Got pumpkin pancakes which were good. I’m not sure if they wear hairnets in the kitchen bit disappointed for that to happen to me the first time ordering.

Thanks to my Unilocal friends I found this place. Very small place but that don’t bother me. The prices our a good deal and the portions also. The girls were very nice and they work as a team. I really liked that my omelette was not greasy. They also have some good specials. Will be back for sure :)

The place itself looks like an old dining room. Reminds me of an old mom and pops place. The staff was courteous and polite. I hate when people are overbearing and over check the table too often, but they were just right. The food itself was perfect. The chili was spicy and the sausage was seasoned well, I wanted to dump it on my Mexican skillet. The skillet was a huge portion, and my extended gut is the cause to that. The dish had great flavor and whenever I see fresh jalepenos I always know I’m in for a treat. The lady got the Mexican omelet with small cakes, which were the size of a plate. Overall great experience, although avoid the window seats unless you like to sweat haha. Other then that the booths are where it’s at.

I was up near Mundelein today so I met my sister for lunch as she works up in Libertyville. What we found was Mauri’s Famous Café? The dining area is as stated a café style. Now this restaurant is rated 4.5 stars with a single $ sign. I’m not sure why as the food I had was average. In fairness to the restaurant they have a huge selection and maybe what my sister and I selected wasn’t that spectacular. The prices are reasonable and you get a nice portion size of food. I ordered The Mexican Skillet w/homemade chorizo, onions, peppers, Jalapeños, tomatoes & cheddar cheese. I had 2 eggs over easy on top. This was pretty good and I give it a 4 star rating. My sister ordered the Philly chicken sandwich w/mushrooms, peppers & mozzarella cheese. This was very average and nothing special. It did come with a choice of fries or fruit(she selected the fruit) & a cup of chili that was pretty good. The service wasn’t very good as the food was brought to the table without any utensils.(I gave up caveman eating a few years ago). We wanted a refill on our coffee and again there was no wait staff until we flagged them down. They never checked in at the table to see if we needed anything. Based on this visit I would rate this restaurant only 3 stars

A long drive for us but it was worth it. The food was pretty good — especially the pancakes. The place was crowded but we didn’t have to wait long at all. The servers worked as a team and were all very friendly. My only complaint is that the silverware was very cheap. The knife couldn’t even cut through the pancakes. Petty I know but true.
