Dirty Dirty Dirty!!! Had breakfast there two weekends ago and sat in a booth by the bay window facing 45. The ledge on the bay window was filthy. Dust on the light fixture overhead and flies buzzing mine and my wife’s tower the whole meal. Food was below average. Obviously not well managed. There seemed to be plenty of staff, how about a cleaning schedule? Either way, won’t be back.

A couple nights before Christmas took grand kids out while in town for a dinner — while I had better diner food, the food was overall good, the service excellent and the smiles were plenty. Been to the predecessor and 2 other Omegas — which are preferred. The grand kids had a hoot.

The food was tasteless. My order was not made correctly and I didn’t even order a special meal or variation. The server didn’t bring the correct drinks and forgot a couple. Pn top of it all, they were out of several items my party ordered. Bad food and poor service. I certainly won’t go back.

If you are looking for the Omega from Niles, this is not it! The menu was extremely overpriced, the staff was rude and the food was mediocre at best. This is not a restaurant that can get away with charging $ 11 for a sandwich ala carte. They also have the audacity to charge for a substitution of three small fruit wedges instead of fries. The only saving grace(the reason for any stars at all) was that parking was readily available.

Mixed feelings about giving this place a poor review. On the one hand, they’ve only been open a few days, so they’ve got some kinks to work-out. On the other, any successful business knows that first impressions are everything, and this place was supposed to open months-ago, so they’ve had plenty of time to get their act together. The décor hasn’t changed much — reupholstered booths, new carpet, new lights, but a quick skim coat of plaster and new paint on the walls would have done wonders. Also, while reupholstering, they should have thrown a coat of finish on the wood. They certainly could have done more, but it has been updated, and with the new china and flatware, this isn’t their biggest problem. Food was good. Nothing too special, and prices a little higher than other local establishments, but you won’t go wrong here. Service — I think this is their greatest downfall. Hire the right staff(or give them good training), and they can make-up for a lot of other shortfalls. Our server was nice, but a little forgetful and not very prompt. Don’t know if she’s the reason the food took so long, or if it was the cooks, but this was a slow breakfast. Then they weren’t complete(missing several sides), and it took a couple mentions before those arrived. We also had to ask several times to refill coffee/water, and also to get our bill. It’s hard to refrain from comparing them to the previous owners, but Grandma V’s knew how to do it right — fast service, simple extras(fruit cups, suckers for the kids, etc.), and specials that made sense. I’d give them at least a few weeks to work-out the kinks, then I’m sure the experience will be much better.
