Walmart Supercenter

I come into this particular Walmart often because it’s closer to my house than the others but after what happened to me today, I’ll either be driving to the other one on Rutherford or going back to NOT shopping at Walmart. I went through self checkout as usual because lines are always long at the registers. I checked out with about 7 – 8 food items. As I was walking out of self checkout the loss prevention person stopped me and asked to see my receipt. I didn’t care but thought it was very odd. She literally went through the 2 bags of items I had and checked the upc off the items to match it up with my receipt. Really?!? Then she pulls out some butter I had in the bag and told me that it wasn’t on my receipt. I clearly state yes it is and shows her the item on the receipt. Her statement was «oh I didn’t see it on here because it rung up as numbers»…so what are you saying I tried to steal some damn butter? Pissed! It was embarrassing and I thought about and still is thinking about taking the $ 25 worth of food I purchased back to the store and just going to Kroger or Publix up the street. Don’t you think if I wanted to steal anything that it wouldn’t be some damn butter smdh. The funny thing is other people were coming out of self checkout but she stopped only me. I stopped shopping at Walmart a long time ago because personally I hate that store but when this one went up close to my house I decided I’ll give it another shot. I think I made a big mistake and not sure if I’ll be returning.

I’ve been to this walmart multiple times, and I have to say they are severely understaffed. I always witness this when I go to the deli if I’m shopping during the week. Tonight there was a long line of people in the deli, which isn’t unusual. A woman became very irate at one point and the man behind the counter tried to calm her down. He explained that he was a manager, one of the girls was a cashier, and the final one worked in the bakery. I think it’s sad that they had to pull these people from other places just to help out. And this happens all the time. There are always store managers in the deli whenever I go there. At this point I feel like there is probably just something wrong with the deli here, like the department manager or inconvenient scheduling perhaps.
I also wanted to point out that the 1 star review might seem a little harsh, but the deli has been a problem for months now. Despite being understaffed I was still waited on within 5 minutes despite these associates having very little training. I do hope walmart actually looks at this review and realizes they need to change how things are currently being run in this area.

I never thought I would say this but I really like this Wal*Mart. Although I know the building of it will ultimately change my beloved side of town forever, it is nice not having to drive across town or to Smyrna to get to a Wal Mart. The parking is smaller than most Wal Marts but I’ve never had trouble parking. The building does look small but it is just as spacious as most other stores. They have a good amount of self checkout and quite a number of lanes, although they never have many open when I’m there. Staff has always been nice, even though I’ve had minimal interaction with them. One good thing to point out about this location, Black Friday shopping was a breeze compared to other stores. My parents snagged a 65 inch tv for $ 648 before tax and were able to get in and out in about 20 minutes. This new location is convenient although I know this side of town will now explode with new businesses.

New Wal-​Mart meant 2 more lighted intersections to get to work and home.
The floor is very nice; polished and dyed concrete. Other than that, everything from the floor up looks like Wal-​Mart. Prices are the same. Parking lot is small for the size of store but hasn’t been a problem. The appearance of the store is misleading; it looks small on the outside but it is every bit as big as the main WalMart on OFP.
