This is some seriously awful Mexican food. When the ground beef in the taco salad is gray/brown and soggy, you have a problem… What a waste of $ 30+

Very bland and boring. My taco salad had water all over the bottom of the plate and my slice of tomato was not ripe and hard. Very disappointing for a place we usually enjoy.

I can’t tell you how excited I was to settle into my couch with my take out and finish binge watching Narcos on Netflix. but when I started in on my food, it kinda ruined my night. I got the Camino Sampler. their idea of «nachos» were soggy stale tortilla chips soaked in cheese dip and refried beans. The bag of chips that came with salsa were cold, hard, and stale. The actual«sampler» consisted of «Mexi egg rolls» that tasted like the El Monterey frozen apps you get at the grocery. the flauntas were just fried tortilla stuffed with shredded chicken, and fried Tyson wings were of the frozen variety. I could’ve bought at Publix. The cheese quesadillas were average but overall this was the most disappointing take out meal I’ve ever experienced. and did I mention it was $ 15!!! To top it all of I asked twice for there to be no shredded lettuce anywhere, and low and behold the sour cream and guacamole(which I was looking forward to) was damn buried in. you guessed it-shredded lettuce. Such a shame. with Camino Real as the name you expect so much more. won’t be supporting this location EVER in the future.

Camino is always good food to me but I never order the typical tacos, nachos, or fajitas. I always get the Pollo Mexicanas or the pork chop version cooked with onions and jalapenos with a side of rice and beans. They even toss two foil wrapped tortillas on top… So you can basically make a fajita style wrap if you wanted. The meat in those dishes are always cooked thoroughly and very tender. Since I rarely get anything different, I’d like to say the food and taste is always consistent. The service really depends on how busy they get so I don’t hold that against them. Also, yes the parking is a pain but if you get there before lunch or dinner there is plenty of parking. I have gone twice on Friday nights at 6:30 and didn’t have problems with finding a spot.

We eat here a lot since we live right behind it. While this isn’t the best Mexican food I’ve ever eaten, I do feel that it’s pretty good! Things are consistent and service is always attentive — it’s very easy to get the add ons and things you need. We love going for lunch and sitting on the patio, I only wish they didn’t allow smoking out there!

My family of 4 normal patronize this location 2 – 3 times a week. They are normally fast and the food is normally hot. We order food take out tonight. My meal had half of a cricket corpse mixed in it tonight. I returned the food and pointed out the insect that was cooked with the ground beef in my entrée. I did not receive an apology. The manager did not find it necessary to come address the issue. The rude cashier told me they could recook my order or offer me a gift card. They treated me like I was wrong for having an issue with my food. I wonder how many of my prior meals had the addition of insects since no eye brows were raise when I brought this issues to their attention.

We have read all the great reviews for Camino Real and were excited moving from California to get some«real» Mexican food. The first time we went was purely based on the glowing reviews; the second time we dared our selves to go because there is no way we could that disappointed with a place that many love and call«the best in the Boro». Perhaps for disclosure, I should tell you that my wife and I have been eating«Mexican» food all our lives in California, Arizona, Texas and New Mexico, and well… in Mexico. Why the the Dr. Evil air quotes around Mexican? The same reason I would put air quotes around«Authentic Mexican» — because if you actually go off the beaten path in Mexico and get«authentic» food, it is great, and not what you would expect if your frame of reference was Wednesday in the Cafeteria, airports, and Taco Night at your friend Stephanie’s house(hey, no disrespect to Stephanie). So you get it– I have a beef when people use«authentic». Now that we are past labels, I won’t complain about the parking as others have mentioned. I also won’t mention that the process of getting a table(even when it is not busy) is somewhere between the lifeless stare of a 30 year employee of the DMV to a hostage negotiation with a bad phone connection. «Two please» was returned with, «Oh … umm to eat?» and to which I replied«Yes please, unless there is something going

I think the reviews should be based on quality and service, not parking. The parking issues should be a tip. We’ve been here 3 times so far and the service is great and the food is amazing.(Even when reheated because the portions are huge). The inside has tons of seating so even if all the spots are full we’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table. They have an incredible amount of servers and they are always buzzing about refilling water and chips. Regarding the parking. It is a bit tight, but you just park in the McDonald parking lot and walk over. It adds an extra 10 steps(which you’ll need to help burn off the queso). I recommend the Nachos Pastor and shrimp tacos, but I hear the shrimp cocktail is awesome too.

Mmmm, micheladas!!! We miss living in pilsen, chicago, and having Mexico City authentic taco shops on every corner, but this is pretty darn good mexican for the area! Of course I miss my tripas, huitlacoche and nopales, but no ones perfect– and maybe the menu will evolve! Great mexican beer selection and cheap eats.

My family eats here at least once a week. Here are some tips for a successful meal: *Go early. If you arrive after 5:30pm, you’ll be waiting. *Get the cheese dip. *Don’t expect awesome service.(Because it won’t happen) *When your food arrives, ask for your check.(Otherwise you’ll be sitting for an extra 5 – 10 minutes after you’ve finished off the last of the cheese dip) *Use your Smart Card for an extra 10% off. Enjoy!

When this location first opened it was insanely busy and parking was a nightmare. Things have smoothed out a bit but on busier nights parking is still a hassle. There’s a quite a bit of construction going on around it so I assume it’ll stay that way for a while. Service was great, she checked in frequently and kept our drinks refilled. Food was okay. I had the chicken chimichanga meal with rice and beans. The chicken is the left in water/tomatoes/onions/pepper mixture and it made the chimichanga pretty soggy. Rice and beans were good. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their food. I’m always a fan of their pastor and carnitas so maybe I’ll stick to those next time. Inside is beautiful albeit a little dark but there is ample seating for larger groups, as well as a nice bar area. This is the only Mexican restaurant on our side of town so we will continue to return!

I believe negative reviews of this restaurant must’ve been when it was new and getting the kinks out. The food was good, as at any Camino Real, service was good, prices are reasonable. I don’t know how it could be rated a $$$$ priced restaurant.

Fajitas Texanas are great and it’s a huge portion. I am not sure why the complains on the steak. Carne Asada is normally a tougher cut of steak. The restaurant is also very clean.

As we’re from Los Angeles, we didn’t expect to find good Mexican food in Murfreesboro. I was wrong, three years ago we found Garcia’s on the other side of town and found it great! Eat there often. Of course we were excited to finally get a Mexican restaurant on the north side of town… but we were seriously d issappointed when we ate at Camino Real. Very mediocre food, fair(below average) service. You may leave feeling full but not satisfied.

Have eaten at this location twice and both times service was slow, orders were wrong and servers seemed pissed off and acted like they wanted to be somewhere else. Don’t know if we will come back to this location.

Hold the salt! This restaurant is right across from my neighborhood and just recently opened for business. The parking lot always looks packed, and last night was our first visit. I ordered the fajita borito, rice, and re-fried beans. My wife ordered fish tacos. The food came quickly, but I had no rice or beans. I was told they were on the inside. Not what I wanted, or ordered, but I accepted this explanation. The steak was extremely salty and very tough. My wife said the fish tacos were just shredded cabbage, no sauce, and again very salty fish. She had to return her dinner. I had high hopes, but won’t be back again.

This restaurant was built in record time. It was very crowded the first few weeks after opening, so I avoided the place. After all, there are at least 2 or 3 other sister restaurants in the Boro! The interior is very nice and modern. Mexican motif paintings and decorations are mixed in with the lighted emergency exit signs and flat screen TVs. I did not mind because the World Cup was on and everyone was watching. The service was punctual if a little impersonal. The basic frozen margarita was very good and they have several ways to upgrade with higher quality tequilas. The Michelada beer drink was tasty and better than I’ve had elsewhere in M’boro. I thought the avocado dip was straight from a package until I felt the avocado stem in my mouth. The Ceviche was served in a taco shell bowl and was served with crackers. It was fresh and mild so I felt free to turn up the heat with some hot sauce. The rest of the menu is extensive and we will definitely return. Remember that this is americanized mexican food and not authentic mexican food. We needed a Mexican restaurant on the north side and now we have one! Bienvenidos al barrio!
