The best Mexican fast-food style that I’ve found in the area! Was going to go to Taco Bell, but found this gem on Unilocal! We drive through Murfreesboro, on our way to St. Louis. So excited for our next trip through town. My bro got the mixed fajitas plate & I got the Granda-Cali burrito w/choice of Carnitas(pulled pork) as a combo w/rice & beans. Delicious. Hand touches to the decorations of the inside are pretty, yet simple. I talked with one girl who worked there after I was done/thanking her for the visit. She was genuinely nice & doing her best w the small but hungry Monday lunch crowd. The meat was tender & the fajitas were served w/a lime for squeezing. I wish we had Oscar’s closer to home We sampled each others’ food & had some left over to take with us. We hope people realize the gem they have and frequent it/we plan to go there next time we’re in the area. Yum.

Tasty tacos! I had the Carne Asada and the Pastor which were both $ 2.45 each. All prices seemed reasonable. Good size menu. Must go back and try more!

Delicious food at a great price! This is one of the few restaurants my whole family can agree on when it come to eating away from home. There isn’t an entrée we wouldn’t recommend!

Don’t really understand the hype. The meat is poorly seasoned(not sure if at all). For the price you pay, you’re almost better off going to Taco Bell — their food is trash, but at least they try and make said trash flavorful.

This place needs to fix their staff. Called in at 1030am for a pickup order of chips and salsa and 2 quesadillas. I thought calling in before the lunch rush was a good idea, which it was because when I arrived there was only ONE customer eating. I got there 1045am like the girl had stated would take 15 minutes, which was fine. I paid for my food and then I sat down. The girl went back to filling her cups of sauce and continued to talk to the other customer while he was eating. 20 minutes later the cook comes out and I assume he has the counter girl what I was waiting for be one looked back at forth to me to her. She then noticed I was sitting there and picked up a bag on the counter that I had saw when I came up to pay. Ridiculous. She didn’t even apologize. They really need to hire some more attentive people because all the girls there are slacking customer service. The food is great but it’s the staff that makes the place.

This place has awesome food and please don’t forget the«red» mild hot sauce. It is my favorite one. The green hot sauce is too sour for me and I didn’t like it at all. Plus, there is no spicy kick to their green sauce. I felt like it was just a sour sauce haha I definitely recommend the Carne Asada Quesadilla. There can be leftovers from this but when it tastes this good… By the time you know it… It’s already all gone lol Another good choice are the fajitas. Very delicious! Again, don’t forget that red mild hot sauce! Also, I had to give them a 4 star because they don’t always seem friendly at times. Plus, I called in to place an order once and they had me on hold for a good 10 minutes. I’m pretty sure they forgot I was on the line so I hung up and called again at a later time. I’m assuming they were busy… It’s mostly always packed whenever I go there.

The food is still great but the girls who take the orders and hand off the food are getting really rude. I feel like I’m bothering them to place my order. Also, as a tip please unlock both sides of your double doors. It’s annoying to try to open a locked door that shouldn’t be.

The food here is great! I’ve been twice to this location the only problem I have is with the tea and really anything else they put their water into. Like the taco salad shells. It all tastes very weird. Sweat and carbonated. I have never had carbonated tea before. But that is what you get here! I think they should really consider filtering their water. Oh and they roll their quesadillas like a burrito. I’m not sure why this particular location does that. But they are still very yummy!

There is no need to read any other review but this one! If you are looking to eat the best Mexican food in the B’oro this is the place hands down!!! Real Mexican food of any kind is not smothered in cheese goo… call it what you want queso??? Only problem I can report is that they give you way to much food. I’ve eaten at almost every Mexican restraunt in the B’oro and Oscar’s has everyone beaten hands down!!! If you know real Mexican food then you will appreciate Oscar’s. I’d like someone to message me if they think there’s a better place to eat Authentic Mexican food than Oscar’s!!! GOODLUCK!!’

I love the Carne Asada quesadilla. The meat is great and it always tastes fresh to me. Simple little place and I seem to find myself getting a meal here every time I come up.

Decided to try this well talked about place since we are new to town. Let’s start with this… I was stationed in Texas and my husband is from Arizona so we have had a few bites of good Mexican food and I have two words for you… 1. Authentic and 2. YUMMMM We will be returning!

Great food, great service, and it doesn’t take forever, lol. The inside is nice and cozy as well. Prices are ok, but the food is well worth it, and they give you huge portions of food. Every plate is loaded with food, and that’s not an exaggeration.

For those of you expecting this place to be traditional«Southern California Mexican», you’ll be disappointed. However, it’s okay for TN. It’s always packed, so evidently people around here love it!

Finally tried this place after reading all the good reviews… Not really all that impressed. But I think it was what I ordered, because my friend loved his crunchy beef taco and beef tostada. I ordered a fish taco and a Pastor taco. First off, I hated the tortillas. I think they were corn tortillas instead of flour, so that threw me off. the fish taco was good, had good flavor, but just way too much cabbage on it. That’s literally all i felt like i was eating. Cabbage on a soggy corn tortilla. And as for the pastor taco,… I took one bite and threw the rest away. Absolutely gross. Customer service was virtually non existent, but they were really busy as it was lunch rush. the place seemed clean and well kept, and even though I didn’t really care for what I ordered, I could tell the food was pretty fresh. I’m going to give them another chance and order something different,. I really wanted to like this place.

We had several people recommend oscars for a place to get authentic tacos. When we arrived there was only 1 person working and she was calling out pick up orders at the same time as trying to take orders. The closest thing on their menu to «authentic» Mexican food was pastor tacos. We ordered several and then tried to find a clean place to sit. The tables and chairs had not been wiped down in hours, if at all today. There was a little girl coughing all over the drink station and going behind the bar. Hmmm — not a very sanitary place. The food was terrible. Traditional pastor is pork and pineapple in a red sauce. The taco I got had tiny pieces of meat that was brunt and not very flavorful. There was no pineapple. It came with pico de gallo and guac. Neither of those improved the taste of the taco. Bottom line — we won’t be back. The hunt continues to find an authentic Mexican restaurant.

A few days ago, my husband and I decided to give Oscar’s a shot because I wanted fish tacos and we were too lazy to cook. I was really surprised at how AWESOME this place is! The girls at the counter were nice, the prices were really reasonable, and they serve beer. So far, so good. My husband ordered the vegetarian burrito, chimi style(deep fried and covered in queso), I ordered two fish tacos(obvs), and we shared an order of regular nachos(covered in cheese and jalapeños). Seriously that burrito ruled. It was stuffed with vegetarian goodies and the queso was tasty. But deep frying the burrito took it to a whole ‘nother level. It also came with a side of guacamole which was tasty as well. The nachos were piled high with jalapeños. Which was awesome. I remember telling my husband I had never gotten that many jalapeños on restaurant nachos before but I wasn’t mad about it! I’m only deducting one star on my rating because they use yellow cheese for the nachos. While I’m a sucker for yellow, ballpark nacho cheese, I want white queso on my nachos if I’m eating Mexican food! Come on people, toss that yellow cheese! Moving on to the fish tacos… WOW. I was a little skeptical because they were breaded and fried flounder rather than my typical go-to, grilled fish tacos. I normally don’t even like flounder but I still have to try fish tacos if they are on a menu. They were SO good.(Like I want them right now but Oscars is closed). The breading was crunchy and not doughy or greasy. The corn tortillas were delish. They were topped with pico de gallo, Oscar’s special sauce(some kind of crema), and cabbage, with lime wedges on the side. At $ 2.29 a taco, I have found my new go-to. My mouth is watering. Bye.
