I don’t know what the hype is about Five Senses. Me and a group from work went here for dinner. I felt like the food was over priced. I got the filet, which was good, but it wasn’t anything special. Two people from my group ordered an entrée with this sauce that takes hours to make. The kitchen accidentally burnt the sauce, so they had to order something else. The drinks were pretty strong and good, but expensive. This isn’t a place that would be first on my list. Not worth the money in my opinion.

When here the other night for a Rutherford Cable Event and didn’t know anything about it. We only had appetizers, but they were all very good. Staff was great and very friendly. Plan to go here again soon for a real meal, but I really liked what I saw.

We went to this restaurant the other night for our anniversary. The wait staff was pleasant and helpful, the atmosphere inviting and the food was awesome. I had a filet that was one of the best I’ve had. We will have to come back on a more regular basis now that we know it’s there and it’s good! BTW. Monday night is date night. Two entrees, appetizer and dessert for $ 60!

Five senses has a great atmosphere that’s not too formal but comfortable and relaxing with class. The food is phenomenal! The arrangements of flavors and presentation is unbelievable. The preferred wine they pair with your meal you order just takes everything over the top! I go there every time I’m in town. My favorite is the Lamb.

I’m visiting Murfreesboro and just had an orgasmic meal at Five Senses! The grilled swordfish was perfect, the veggies still al dente, and not limp and sad like at many restaurants. The waitstaff was professional, friendly, and efficient. I sat at the«food bar» and had the pleasure of watching the chef and his excellent crew create beautiful meals for the other diners. I’ll come back every time I’m in town! An excellent experience on every level!

My adult daughter and I dined at Five Senses this evening. The entire experience was nothing short of fabulous! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family or old friends. Even though it appeared to be a busy night, we were seated quickly. We were asked by the hostess, if seating at the food bar was ok. We agreed, and could not have been happier. We were able to watch the chefs prepare our food and carry on casual conversation with them. It was very enjoyable, and would reccomend requesting to be seated at the food bar! Raven was our very attentive waitress, but never annoying! We started with an appetizer of pork belly sliders, and they did not disappoint! My daughter enjoyed the stir fried pork, which she was very happy with. The vegetables and pork were tender and flavorful, with just a nice amount of spiciness. I ordered the braised rabbit, since it was something I’d never eaten. It was very, very delicious! The rabbit was so tender! The vegetables were delicious, as well as the Gouda grits. The portions of both of our meals were just right… Not too big, and not too small. The Five Senses chefs are like food artists, and very entertaining to watch. We finished our meal with a dessert made by our waitress, Raven! We shared a white chocolate/dark chocolate mousse, topped with marshmallows, that Raven had made from scratch, and graham cracker crumbs. I would highly recommend Five Senses! Our bill came to $ 112+tip, but was worth every penny!

My wife and I have driven past this place a dozen times or more and never noticed it in the back of the shopping area, off of the main road. I found out about it only through Unilocal, and I am so glad we took the time to visit. For our first visit, we asked for a wedge salad as an appetizer since we knew we were going for heavier, rich entrees. I tried the filet with blue cheese butter and sides of truffle herb mashed potatoes and snap beans with halved cherry tomatoes. My wife ordered the pan roasted duck with goat cheese mashed potatoes, spinach, and a fig gastrique. My wife ordered an Old Fashioned cocktail. To close out we ordered a carrot cake for desert. The wedge was great. It came with a local egg that was soft boiled and added a great richness to the dressing. The cherry tomatoes were high quality, something you would find at a local farmer’s market. I would have liked a bit of heat in the dressing, but the salad was still great. I ordered my filet medium, and it came to the table perfectly cooked. The blue cheese was an amazing top for my steak. My only complaint was that I wanted a little bit more of it. Snap beans and halved cherry tomatoes were very nice. When it comes to mashed potatoes, I tend to nibble on them a bit but leave them half uneaten in order to keep my carb intake low. The potatoes had an amazing flavor. I ate the entire serving. The duck was cooked well(a bit rare) and seasoned perfectly. Her mashed potatoes were good, but I preferred the style that was served with my filet. The fig gastrique was very tasty, and a perfect compliment to rest of the dish. My wife’s Old Fashioned was one of the best she’s been served in this area, but would have been even better with a cherry. We took our carrot cake home with us to eat later and loved it. All of our food was served with great presentation. The service was perfect. Our server had a big smile the whole time, I never waited for a drink refill, I didn’t feel pestered by her constant presence.

Mmmmmmmmm! An excellent kiss that still lingers on your lips after that special someone pulls back to catch their breath… An earthy Cabernet that speaks to your very soul as your tastebuds rejoice in the mixture of flavors… The Filet Mignon at Five Senses! I ate at Five Senses for the first time for lunch today. It was so good that, tonight, I treated my 83 y/o Mother there. She had the Salmon and I had the Ecstasy, otherwise know as the Filet. The Salmon was prepared with soy sauce which made it too salty for her taste. Within a short time, an entirely new plate was prepared Sans Soy Sauce and it was perfect! You can always tell when the food is good because she stops talking to eat. Perhaps, I will take her back here often!!! On to the Filet… Done exactly as I requested, medium rare, tender, flavorful and huge! Yes, size does matter and this was impressive! The only drawback was how noisy it was. You aren’t going to have a romantic, quiet conversation discussing how to sneak away on a Catamaran snorkeling trip, with a private chef, in Belize… But you can get the basics done, then go for a walk somewhere else to do the quiet talk! For dessert… The menu options sounded great. I have had the pecan pie there for lunch today,(full disclosure — I’m a total perfectionist when it comes to pecan pie!) and while it was okay, it was only that. I wanted to try something else but was too stuffed from the amazing meal. So, next time! And soon! I really recommend this place for both the food as well as the service staff that was simply perfect in each of their roles! Thank you, Five Senses, for a great experience!

Oh my word, the filet was to die for. Put me in a food coma instantly. The filet was perfect and moist. Pair it with the blue cheese butter and vinaigrette and wow. I think I’m in heaven. They marry together well. The not so star of the dish was the garlic mashed potatoes. To me it clashed with the other enjoyable flavors. Very, very good dish. Highly recommend.

Love this place. Dinner is by far the best in Murfreesboro. Lunch is fun, recommend the bar to watch prep. Don’t know of any other CIA qualified chefs in Murfreesboro. We recently had family visiting from NYC/CT area and they were more impressed with Five Senses than with dinner in Nashville at a very nice restaurant.

My daughter knows gourmet and rarely leaves anything on her plate. Her empty plate is the testament to the chef who prepared the best scallops ever!!! Btw my filet mignon with balsamic glaze was delicious too! Oh, the mint condition cocktail was superb. I highly recommend this place.

First time there and we loved it! Friendly staff, great food and nice ambience. Now saying that it is a little pricey but they always say you get what you pay for and in my opinion it was worth every penny! I will definitely be returning! If you don’t like small menus this not the place for you. It has a very small selection but I like that because you can tell everything is freshly made to order. Also I really liked that the chef came out to ask us how we were enjoying our food. Nice place to celebrate an Anniversary as that is what we were doing:)

Five Senses never disappoints and is one of the few places in Murfreesboro to get fresh, in season meals. I selected braised elk pasta — a very hearty pasta dish with a rich cream sauce, tender elk and plump mushrooms. Prior to the pasta, I had the baby bok choy salad. It was very flavorful with peanut dressing, complimented with edamame, carrots, radishes and mushrooms. I highly recommend it! I also tried the night’s special, rainbow trout, which came beautifully plated with a taste to match its presentation. The star of the night, though, was the almond crusted pan fried chicken topped with an apricot jalapeño gastrique. My husband was nice enough to share a bite of it, but not more than that! We always have great service and food at Five Senses, and their changing menu always offers a couple items you won’t find anywhere else in this city.

Somewhere hidden at the back of a little strip mall lies a culinary genius in hiding. That person happens to be the chef d’ cuisine at this humble establishment. From the outside, it looks a little like a typical neighborhood café, or perhaps a artisanal bakery of some kind. Inside and a assessment of that day’s specials will inform you — this is much, much more than that and then some. FS is not a white napkin and tablecloth establishment with tuxedo’d staff. Instead, all of the passion and service is dedicated to creative and entertaining takes on what are many reasonably recognizable standards: steaks, chops and filets, seafoods, lamb shanks and loins, vegetarian options, etc. But it’s the ingredients, the recipe tweaks and variations and little surprises along the way that lead to a thoroughly entertaining evening of consumption. Starts with a great cornbread(with a whipped, but not honeyed butter). Plus-1 on that point. A mushroom barley soup had touches of fresh thyme and really long-simmered complex stock that when you put it side by side with every standard recipe and home version, you end up thinking — this is a just a soup? How did they do that? Really divine. One note: a cup means a custard ramekin sized portion. Had the house salad, and a spring mix with a light vinaigrette and fresh ripened grape tomatoes, a bit of mesclun and arugula, and then… toasted black walnuts and fresh herbs appear in this mix. And citrusy notes that aren’t from a plain balsamic and EVO mix. Filet(mignon) was fork tender, super juicy and sizable over it’s accompanying grilled vegetables and a smashed potato mix that would stand on its own as an entrée. Lamb loin was pepper and spice-coated, and served as 1-inch thick medallions with roasted winter veggies and silver-dollar sized polenta cakes that were crisped and buttery. Tried the maple cheesecake, which was a dreamily creamy invention with a slightly ginger spiced crust. Then what was described as an Oreo cake — 2 rounds of dark cocoa brownies sandwiching a non-sweetened whipped cream with a mix in of an anglaise for richness, with big swaths of peanut butter cream, espresso ganache, a mocha powder trail, and a vanilla bean frosting that balances the whole creation. It’s pricier than the local grills and usual places, and portions are not like hitting a Cracker Barrel. but don’t save this little place for just the special occasions. Thinking something like, «I’m hungry…» and go. p. s. there are also varied cocktail and drink specials during the week that are total bargains.

Who knew that such a gourmet restaurant exists in the middle of TN? The chef is a graduate of the CIA. All entrees and dishes are visually pleasing, very flavorful, fresh and well proportioned! We were too stuffed to have any of the desserts. We had real good cornbread(small, sweet and not too moist nor too grainy). I ordered the cauliflower and white bean falafel as an appetizer and the braised lamb shank as my entrée. OMG delishness! He ordered a salad and the filet mignon on crayfish girdle cakes. Wow! If I was a local this would be my hot spot. A must try if you are here or driving by! :)
