Just found this place and will be going back as a regular. Have not had this great sashimi in a very long time. Service was first rate!

Overall the food was very good. Staff is extremely friendly. Sushi was fresh. Only reason I didn’t give it five stars was because the price is quite high for the portions served. Aside from that, a pleasant experience.

Owner was open to making anything I wanted. I love it when the owner is also a sushi chef. Fresh fish and great taste. Friendly and clean.

Mass quantities for wonderful prices. Best sushi in Murfreesboro. I meet my daughter and son here once a month every month for a family lunch or dinner, and we all love it.

I’ve been a frequent diner here since first moving to the area over 15 years ago. It was superb then and still is today. Same owners, consistent high quality of food, and a modest yet pleasent atmosphere. I always recommend this place first for any one searching for an authentic Japanese dining experience. You won’t disappointed here.

Super friendly place. Amazing food. The staff is super friendly they come and check on you often. Making sure your drinks are full and that you are doing ok. It almost blows you away to see good customer service from all the staff not just not just one waiter. The miso soup was spot on and yummy, sushi tasted great and it was awesome to see some tuna that was not leaking pink dye and had a nice natural red tone. All the rolls where very good. This has to be the closest thing you can get to Seattle level sushi in Tennessee. We eat a lot of sushi in Seattle and have tried many here this place is good. Good job Sushin we will be back again.

Found this gem while visiting Murfreesboro. Family owned and operated. Got carry-out because a family member was ill. They suggested soup and steamed rice and added extra ginger to my order. The sushi was awesome too. Very reasonably priced. Exceptional staff.

I love, love, love Sushin for so many reasons, with the main reason being the tasty food! My husband and I frequent Sushin for dinner and are usually greeted warmly at the door and are immediately seated. The food is always fresh, the variety is really good, and the prices reasonable! I would give this little gem a try!

Great sushi, have korean BBQ options(very yummy Bulgogi!!), and various teriyaki options. The staff was super friendly and responsive and one(maybe owner?) was wonderful with our daughters, getting them kid friendly chop-sticks and encouraging them to eat by being silly with them. This restaurant reminds me of our favorite sushi/Japanese restaurant in Vancouver, WA; such a great way to begin to love our new city by finding replica here!

Long overdue review. We have been here, and I exaggerate not, 50+ times. Rolls are good, especially the Alaska, Valentine, and Rich Roll(spicy crab). The sashimi is very good and fresh consistently. I also enjoy the yaki udon, a fresh dish, light on the sauce. On the button every time. The pork Gyoza is our favorite starter. Consistent, not cheap, but solid choice for sushi and Japanese food.

I used to be a regular at Sushin and loved their food but I moved away for about 5 years and returned not too long ago. When I went recently I noticed that the price seemed abnormally high compared to what I used to pay. I wouldn’t have complained but the portions have also shrunk considerably. I shouldn’t be paying twice what a meal should cost to be hungry two hours later. I hope they enjoy whatever money they scammed from me because I won’t ever go back again. The food technically tastes good but I wouldn’t bother going unless you just enjoy being ripped off.

The miso is tasty and the Las Vegas roll is killer. Usually my boyfriend and I get the nigiri options, and they’re always fresh and tasty as well. The employees are always nice and helpful. Never have had a bad experience and look forward to going back some more!

I’ve been to Sushin on two separate occassions and had two very different experiences. On my first experience, I was drawn there by the raving reviews given to me by my clients and co-workers as their favorite place to eat sushi. I was dissappointed when I received a loosely rolled spicy tuna roll and everything smelled more fishy than fresh. The service was okay, and we left there unimpressed. The only reason why I returned a second time was because Lemongrass was closed and my friend told me that Sushin was his favorite place. I was thinking, «What is it about this place that is so great?» I reluctantly went along. Despite my first experience, I ordered the same spicy tuna roll along with several other Nigiri rolls. They were much fresher and better made this time. My friend had me try a soup made with noodles, beef and vegetables served in a large pot. I don’t remember what it was called, but it was delicious. I noticed the other patrons ordering more than just sushi. I guess that is the real key to this place — traditional Japanese dishes. Needless to say, my second visit was much more enjoyable than the first and I wouldn’t mind returning.

So two things happened here: either I came to Sushin on a very off night, or I have much higher standards for sushi than every single other person who reviewed them. I will go with the former. It was later on a Tuesday night and the place was empty so we were seated promptly. We ordered some gyoza and miso which were definitely good, hard to mess up frozen potstickers and a soup that is likely from a mix. I ordered a Kirin Ichiban and was having a fine time chatting with my gal pal. Then«our» sushi came out and things took a turn for the worst. We ordered 3 rolls(cant remember what they were) and a few rolls came out that were 100% not what we ordered. We told the waiter we got the wrong rolls and he acted totally bewildered that the rolls sitting in front of us werent what we ordered. I was a bit bewildered that we were his ONLY table and something managed to go wrong. So we send these mystery rolls back and after a short wait 3 more rolls come out to our table. These ones were wrong again! Maybe the sushi chefs didn’t know the menu? Maybe our order got mixed up with a different invisible table? I have no idea but at this point we were starving and decided to just let it go because there was clearly a disconnect somewhere. We had no idea what the rolls were or what was in them– and I don’t really care to know because they weren’t very good. Nothing about the rolls was flavorful or fresh. We reluctantly ate them and I probably would not go back. A real bummer because this place has a lot of good hype!

Snow crab roll and Popeye were great. Tuna tasted a little like it may have been from a can. A little slow but still great and personable. Can’t wait to come back.

Japanese is, without a doubt, my favorite variety of cuisine. Sushin is, without a doubt, the best Japanese restaurant I’ve been to in Tennessee. Period. The food is fantastic, the service is great, and the menu is spectacular. Their sushi is really good but I never order it. To me, that’s not the main draw of this place. One can find good sushi in a lot of places now. What one cannot find so easily is the more traditional Japanese items offered at Sushin. By Japanese, I mean Japanese, not«Japanese», which is what I usually find in this part of the country. They have things such as onigiri, natto, cold soba, some of the best nabeyaki udon I’ve ever tasted, and countless other items that are uncommon to find in restaurants located in areas without a large Japanese population. If you love trying new things, you’re bound to find something you haven’t had before. If you want to experience actual Japanese food, and not the Americanized stuff that a lot of places try to pass off as Japanese food, I can’t recommend Sushin highly enough.

Sushin has been a favorite place of mine since they opened. When going out with friends or if someone hasn’t tried sushi before, Sushin is a direct route. More than just great sushi, they have a variety of dishes in there menu to allow even the non adventurous of your group a great experience with the crowd. Along with there main menu, try there special menu of sushi with rolls to impress your taste buds. The Holiday Roll has always been part of my order when I get a chance to go in.
