MURPHY, TX: Snuck in Sunday at lunch to Mogios, a local little unpretentious spot with thin-crust pies and generous toppings. Service and pizza were good. I hope to come back. See the photo of the pie, I ordered the«King» with 8 toppings. Excited to try some of their other specialty pies.

Since my past review, I had to come back and update because I now call in my orders and get my food right on time. They can be a little inconsistent at times but the food is super cheap and taste ok.

Two stars because the pizza was quite good. The service was OK. I would’ve given a 4 star rating if not for the dessert. We asked for tiramisu but there wasn’t any in the display case. They said they had some and one of the girls disappeared to the back; I assumed to a walk in cooler or something. She arrived with the unimpressive slab of tiramisu. A hearty portion but no care given to presentation. Not a big deal but then came time to indulge in the light, yet rich cake. Fork would not even go through it because it was frozen solid. Total bummer! If I had wanted frozen cake, I would’ve gone next door to Baskin Robbins. It should’ve never been served frozen and if you’re gonna charge $ 5.00 for what I can only now assume is some store bought dessert, you could at least dress it up a little bit. Maybe a drizzle of chocolate syrup on the plate or a dusting of cocoa. I’ve been at birthday parties where more care was given to the serving of cake. Look at Google images and you’ll see dozens of creative ways to plate a tiramisu that would definitely put a smile on your customers face. Again, assuming you’re buying a premade tiramisu, I will refer you to Google where there are many good recipes for some amazing tiramisu. Maybe you could try making a fresh one that matches the quality of your pizza. A dessert should be an exclamation point on a good meal, not a parting bad memory. The wife ate the whole frozen tiramisu herself and actually enjoyed it but she’s crazy.

Great lunch special pizza. I’m bummed my office moves this week and I’ll probably not make it back. They are one of the few places I made a point to revisit before leaving the area; yes that is a BIG recommendation. Pepperoni, Canadian bacon, and fresh garlic… wonderful. They are one of my «top 3» places for pizza in the Dallas area. Highly recommended.

Great pizza and decent service whether it be take out or eat in, I would say best pizza in the Murphy area.

So-so pizza and pasta. Friendly, fast service. Unfortunately the food is just mediocre.

This place should be getting higher reviews. The Jack Daniels pizza is the absolute stand out here. We always get the biggest one and scarf it down. The lunch special is worth getting too. the pizza is better in store vs carry out. There’s only one negative at this place: the gaggle of teenagers working. I’ve been here many times in the last 3 – 4 years and can’t understand why there’s so many on duty at the same time. There’s not enough business to warrant it based on the amount of horseplay and giggling that goes on. Makes me think the owner or manager’s kid is on staff and got daddy to hire her fellow cheerleaders to keep her company. It’s distracting as a diner, that said, the girls have always been nice to the customers.

They make great pizzas in my opinion. We have tried PJ, PH and Dominos but this place served with pizzas that exceeded all of the others we had before in taste and quality. Would recommend their house specialty pizzas along with cannoli and tiramisu for dessert.

Best pizza — and pasta — around! My favorites are the Jack Daniels pizza and the king supreme pizza. The crust is amazing, thin and flavorful. Here recently, I tried the spaghetti with meat sauce and added meatballs. Another delicious hit at home. For a while, I was addicted to their chocolate cheesecake. One night, I guess the young lady taking my order didn’t hear me clearly. She sent the chocolate cake instead, and I have been addicted to it since. I usually order delivery, but have dined inside before. It’s a cozy place and service is always friendly and professional, whether you’re dining in or out. I absolutely love this place!!!

YUM! Mogio’s is my new favorite pizza place. I have visited 3 times(one I ate inside, other 2 I had to go orders), and each time I was so happy with the pizza. My grandparents even were impressed, and they are hard to please! I just moved to the area a couple of weeks ago, and took a chance on Mogio’s as I was driving home one day. I am so glad that I did, and I couldn’t be happier that I have such an amazing place to get pizza(salads are good too) so close to home! I will definitely be a repeat customer. The staff has also been very friendly each time I have gone.

Many other reviews complain about the service here. Today, I visited for the first time. My review is geared towards people with distinguished taste and expectations. First, let me say that I was satisfied with the service and speed of delivery. However, I noticed that some of the plates that were provided had edges that were chipped off, and the silverware and plastic glasses were not that clean and of the lowest quality. Our pizzas were delivered before our appetizer. Both pizzas were very thin and a reminiscent of Ledo’s Pizza. The taste was passable, but no where near the quality to justify the price points. The mozzarella garlic bread appetizer was merely a small pizza with cheese without sauce. The ambiance and décor are similar to any casual Greek café. The owner seems nice and friendly. For pizza in general, I prefer New York style at Napoli’s and Venezia. For brick oven, Urban Crust is really good.

I am writing this review specifically for the Murphy location customer service as I’ve eaten at the Sachse location once and had no problems, in fact I had wonderful service at the Sachse location. The Murphy location on the other hand has terrible service. We continue to order from them because their pizza is better than say run of the mill Papa Johns or Pizza Hut but honestly not sure if I can continue to give them my money when they so blatantly do not care about their customers! Literally every time we call for delivery their is a teenage girl who answers and has CLEARLY never been taught how to speak to people when providing a service. Now I get teenagers in general do not care about anyone other than themselves but at a job they should be taught to at least fake it or they should not be in that position. In fact they act down right annoyed that they have to waste their time taking my order. And it’s every single time I call. Also I have two children so my husband and I will ususally order ourselves a pizza and we’ll get our kids a personal pizza off the kids menu which comes with a drink. Now for some reason this location seems to forget what’s included on their menu because THREE seperate occasions they have not delivered our drinks that are included in the price of the kids meal. One nice thing I have to say about one delivery driver is that he realized it on the way to our house and actually stopped and purchased my kids drinks out of his own pocket and apologized he did not have our drinks with our order. The other two times the drivers did not apologize and did not offer to come back with our drinks or refund us our money. Whatever, we got over it, it’s drinks but still annoying that we pay for them and they continue to do this. Final straw for me was yesterday I ordered a pizza for delivery at 12:25pm, the person who answered took my order and said it would be a 35 – 45 minute wait time, okay that’s great. One hour and 5 minutes later still no pizza. I called to check on the order and he tells me «driver is currently on the way, we were slammed with lunchtime orders but your pizza will be fresh.» 20 minutes later our pizza finally arrives so obviously the driver had not even left the restaurant yet because we live 4 miles from the place. Do not waste your time and money on the Murphy location!

Third time coming, usually pretty good pizza and service, but today came in to pick up 2 pizzas, paid then gave me wrong order. Apparently gave my order to person who ordered like 6 pizzas in front of me. Had to wait another 15 mins for pizza to be done again. Guess it was an honest mistake, but I would think it’s not too hard to keep orders straight. The manager did throw in a cheese cake, which was nice of her! Food was great, will be back!

I’ve ordered pizza and calzones from here a few times and they’ve always been great, so my brother and I stopped in and decided to try a pasta dish. Both of our dishes were luke warm and nothing to right home about. I really don’t know how they weren’t burning hot as there were maybe 3 or 4 other tables, but the cheese sticks however were fantastic. If you come here, stick to the pizzas and calzones and you’ll go home happy.

Ugh, what a waste of money! Do NOT pay more when delivery arrives. Don’t be scammed! Pay what you are quoted over the phone. I originally called another Mogio’s location to place my delivery order, but didn’t hear the return call I got a moment later informing me «oops» they don’t deliver to my house, until 40min later. Now it was really late and we were starving, so I called the suggested location to place another order. The girl who took my order was really sweet and answered my questions, including how many slices are in a large. I was told 14 slices were in a large. I ordered ½ pineapple, artichoke hearts and sun dried tomatoes with EXTRA cheese and ½ italian sausage, canadian bacon and EXTRA cheese. She repeated my order back to me, all was right. I let her know I had a coupon and she gave me my total, including discount — $ 15.79. Our young delivery boy arrived 45min later, as we expected, and it all went downhill from there. He told my husband the total was $ 19 something, when I noted our coupon and discount, he apologized, but said he didn’t show that, even though my husband handed him the coupon. We should have stuck to our guns and made him work it out back at the«office», but didn’t want to cheat him out of his tip just in case, so we ended up out of pocket $ 10 more than expected. Then we open the box to find the most pathetic pizza we’ve ever seen. * The pizza was not hot, it was barely warm. * We could not tell the crust from the cardboard it was sitting on. * There were 14 shapes cut, NOT14 slices, leaving us both quite hungry once the pizza was done. * There was barely any noticeable cheese on the pizza, led alone EXTRA cheese. * I think a few sun dried tomatoes stumbled onto a slice here and there. * There was no telling any ½ and ½. The toppings were all over the place leaving my husband and I to pick off the unwanted toppings on our sides, also taking whatever cheese may have been on the slice with it. A gigantic waste of money, time and calories. Never again Mogios, never again.

Order an extra large for delivery which took an hour and a half to finally be delivered. By the time it got here, the pizza was tepid temperature at best, and was like chewing on wet cardboard. And like I said, i ordered an extra large for my family and I, but am convinced that we only received a large.

Overall, Mogio’s doesn’t hold a candle to Venezia’s just down the street, but the spinach alfredo pizza and stromboli are good enough that we’ve returned on several occasions. However, the service is nonexistent, as the restaurant seems to be exclusively staffed by untrained high school girls. Also, during several of our visits, there was a funky smell when we walked in(almost sewage-like) and one time, we almost walked out. The floor and tables are usually dirty and laden with crumbs. Once, when a teen employee saw us wiping off our own table, she came over and«cleaned» it with a nasty dish rag… Gross and unsanitary. Another time, I told a teen employee there was a big puddle in the entry walkway and I didn’t want anyone to slip. She blankly stared at me and replied, «Oh.» The puddle was still there when we left. And there is a basket of free candy for when you leave(that’s good!) but it sits directly on the floor instead of on the counter(that’s bad). In the future, we will skip the inexplicable dine-in drawbacks and possibly order delivery if at all, as Mogio’s needs to make some drastic improvements to their dine-in experience. Too bad, as their food is yummy.

Easily one of the best pizza places I’ve been to. Their selection of pizzas is awesome, especially for my wife who does not eat beef/pork. Everything I’ve had here is fresh and great tasting. I don’t think they have always delivered, so I may have to order one soon!!!

Just had Mogio’s delivered, first time customer. Super nice workers! Love the pizza choices; the two we ordered were delicious and fresh! Thank you for offering halal chicken and beef! Much appreciated! Mogio’s is our #1 choice for pizza in Murphy!
