Heard about CousCous on local TV program and then checked it out on Unilocal.Very friendly staff, quick service and nice and clean. Had a delicious bowl of cream of kale and celery soup. Excellent. Ordered the schwarma plate which was also very tasty and large portion of meat. Thank you for a great meal. Janice Orange County CA

Came here with a large group, 4 adults and five kids. Fast counter service for ordering and they bring the food to your table. It was served fairly quick. I think they bus the tables too. It wasn’t exactly clear. Shwarma Salad was tasty but the regular sliced canned black olives, indiscernible feta chunks and small pieces of meat left me wanting more. I wanted big chunks of feta, good Kalamata olives, big meaty pieces of shwarma and maybe a spicy pepperocini for for good measure. The Shwarma plate was basically the same served with pita and taziki sauce. The salmon wrap was surprisingly delicious and tightly wrapped. The namesake couscous was ok. The pizzas were marginal. The $ 3.99 kids meal was priced well. You really can’t find too many kids meals for that price. There were things like pita pizza, quesadilla or Mac and cheese(Kraft?) served with you choice of fruit(canned peaches) and a drink(milk or Capri sun). Plentiful drink options… There were Italian San Pellegrino sodas, fountain drinks, and even wine and beer. Love that they had real plates and utensils! Good looking baklava and other pastries. Free soda with Unilocal check-in. If you give this Unilocaler something free then that is a bonus star right there. They had candy for the kids in a jar. Easy place to take the kids. The servers were nice. Lots of great healthy options here. Worth coming back sometime and checking out some other menu items.

I usually wait to write my reviews after I finish eating, but that won’t be necessary here. Within my first few bites, I knew this place will be worth coming back to multiple times(and we’re from Orem!) The atmosphere is very relaxed, our food came out fast. With just enough variety on the menu and authentic flavors and seasonings the food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it!(Even the picky eaters at our table!) 10⁄10 would come again. Prices were great, atmosphere was great, and the food was exquisite!

Good hearty, healthy food. I had the chicken alfredo cous cous & it was the first time cous cous for me. It was tasty. Also had the shrimp wrap & bruchetta. Shrimp was a little rubbery but wrap was good according to my date. Comfy atmosphere. I could go here more often.

I have never ordered anything that wasn’t delicious. We have a menu at where I work nearby and all order frequently. Anyone we get to try Couscous is instantly hooked. I love the garbanzo chips and mango salsa. Also the couscous and teriyaki vegetables is a favorite. Wonderful owners and staff, and fresh, healthy food!

I really like this place! It is a fresh Twist on Mediterranean food and has sort of the modern feel with the way you order. You walk in and order like at Café Rio or Chipotle except they bring your food to your table. I haven’t tried anything that I haven’t lived there! I did go with my family a few weeks back however and some of them didn’t love the vegetarian dishes they ordered all but I have never tried them. Because of their comments I give it a four star rating but it is definitely near a 5-star rating!

Was craving some zucchini noodles with chicken pesto. Awesome as always. Also had a bowl of their yellow looking soup. I couldn’t make out what it was or the name of it. Just knew it was full flavored, creamy and had veggies and chicken prepared beautifully. Glad this place has stayed consistent even with opening 2 other locations just recently besides this one.

Nice change of pace menu with decent variety for the vegan friendly population. My Indian acquaintance chose Couscous for lunch because it has both above average taste and an authentic quality to it.

This interesting place fused several cuisines in the Mediterranean region. They are located just off the west side of 900 E in a strip mall. They operate with order and paid first then they bring you the food style. They have a reasonable space with enough to host a decent size party, and there are also outdoor seating as well. Couscous actually means plate of northern African steamed balls. The main ingredients were semolina, which is a type of wheat. Try a dish with them in it will fit you with a mouthful of those yellowish-cleared balls. I got them once with their Paprika Chicken dish, and the flavors were decent. Shawarma is another thing to get here if you are look for a good first time experience, plate is good if you like to do it yourself, while wrap is a good if you just want to dive right in, and I should have gotten a wrap instead. I heard good things about Zucchini noodles, but they were always sold out whenever I was there. Overall, Couscous seems to be a solid place to find Mediterranean region food.

This place is so yummy! I have been craving it ever since. The atmosphere just seemed a little commercial but the food made up for it! Really unique and yummy. I did go once more after writing my first review, but they put so much garlic sauce on my wrap that I thought it was going to burn my insides. So be beware of that!!!

I had the gourmet pita and it was so good! I tried the steak one and my dad got steak with shrimp. The service was very pleasant and fast. I would recommend this to anyone looking to try a new type of food that is going to be delicious every time. For the gluten free peeps, they have a menu just for you :)

went here for a pre-theater(Desert Star, goofy, but fun) dinner with a group and this was FABULOUS. There are at least 10 things on the menu I want to try. Love the fact that they have beer and wine… super casual, really good food.

By FAR the best restaurant in the valley! Super fresh and always deliciously consistent! Atmosphere is simple. But be honest you are here for the food! We have not had anything that is not amazing. Definitely try the chicken Parmesan with zucchini for pasta! I cannot say enough positive!

I’ve been here 3 times, ordered 3 different items, and they all tie as my favorite. The staff is always friendly, my food comes out quickly, and the restaurant always looks nice. The ingredients taste better here than other restaurants that charge twice as much for less food. A must-try for sure.

I’m so mad at myself. I have lived right next to this amazing place for two years now and never decided to go in because«it’s not my type of food.» What I fool I was. It’s in a pretty unassuming place in a strip mall in an equally unassuming building. Right when you walk in, the menu is right on the wall so you can figure out what you want. I personally have gotten both the Mediterranean Nachos as well as the Lemon Scampi. Both were amazing. The nachos come with your choice of chicken, steak or shwarma. I got it with steak the first time and will be getting them again with the different meats too. The Lemon Scampi comes with butterfly shrimp and the lemon crème sauce it comes with is just so awesome. With this place so close to my house and just so good, along with being affordable, has already became my go to for something great in Salt Lake.

Legit. I really like these types of casual eating establishments — order at the front, not full service, keeps the dining prices down. You can get a great dinner for $ 8 to $ 12. I came to Couscous after a long day on the slopes. I had a hard time deciding what to eat — I finally decided on the Chicken Pita and added the soup of the day(Lamb Curry) and a drink for $ 13. As noted in another review by Haley B, the couscous was actually a little bit of a disappointment… if you’ve made couscous yourself, you know that it’s difficult to keep couscous hot, though… The pita was delicious — fresh, great bread, chicken was flavored deliciously. The soup was off the charts good… one of the best soups I have ever eaten. Someone definitely knows what they are doing food-wise. This is a BUSY place… and you know what that means — it does well. You can watch the chefs cook if you’d like and you can tell they are busting their backsides to get food out quickly. I look forward to coming back to this place next time I’m in SLC. Great value, great food, good owners.

Came in today for lunch and was super excited because I’ve been wanting to stop by. Order the shawarma wrap and shawarma salad. The wrap was good a bit too garlicky for me and I usually don’t ever say that. The salad was great I really enjoyed it. The dressing was super good I wish it had more feta though. The menu is pretty big everything sounded good so it was hard to pick something. I really want to try some of the menu items. Really happy I got the chance to stop by.

We love to come to Cous Cous when we come to Salt Lake. Flavor is always the key to their food. We love the shrimp pita with a side of Cous Cous. The shrimp are grilled perfectly. The mushrooms add a perfect touch. Tonight we ordered the grilled chicken mélange salad and the Cous Cous specialty flat which is a thin crust pizza. They are super fast at getting the food cooked and served. Everything is always fresh and very filling. Highly recommend them!

Incredible! My fiancé and I were nearby taking our engagement pictures at Wheeler Farm, and thought we’d give this place a try, since it is definitely beloved on Unilocal. And for good reason! Everything was delicious, and we will definitely be coming back the next time we are nearby, and it was so good, we’d even go well out of our way to come here again. Mediterranean Nachos: 4⁄5 Very good nachos, the mango salso was a nice touch. Very good, but not as good as our other dishes! Everything was just that good! CousCous Chicken Mushroom Alfredo 5⁄5 Delicious! My fiancé had never had couscous before, and she loved this! At first glance, her portion looked small, but it was extremely filling and PLENTY of food. High quality ingredients. Chicken Florentine Bake 5⁄5 The alfredo sauce in this dish was one of the most amazing sauces I’ve ever had. Everything about this dish made me just want more and more and more. Perfect amount of cheese, sauce, and they don’t skimp on proteins. The chicken and ham were both delicious. My only complaint was that some pieces of chicken were quite large, but let’s be honest, I’m nitpicking now. I HIGHLY recommend CousCous Mediterranean Grill. One of the best restaurants I have ever been too; It definitely lives up to the Unilocal hype. Next time I’m back, I’ll be trying their baked flats(pizzas) which look exceptional. I can’t wait to be back!

Found them using Unilocal while in the area. Awesome! The service was great so friendly and very educational for me! Still trying to learn the type of food. The place was clean The food was great. Ordered the chicken shawarma– I thought it came as a wrap but it didn’t I got to make my own. I got it with a salad and I loved the pesto dressing. I would go back and recommend it also! Really good

Seriously have to stop here when I’m on this side of town or drive 45 minutes out of the way, so worth it. Had the shawarma pita and had them make it spicy. Loved it. The pita is perfectly soft and the shawarma is amazing. Generous on toppings. And can’t beat the side of cous cous.

I came here because a friend of mine recommended this place. This is such a hidden gem and I live so close to it also. This for me is like a Mediterranean fashion kind of thing. They have their own style of pasta and burritos. To order food here is like ordering food at a fast food joint. There really isn’t waiters going around asking for orders, but there will be people bringing food for you to your table. I ordered the mediterranean burrito and it was super delicious!!! Half of the burrito actually filled me up, but you can’t stop eating it because it is so good. It was actually healthy also. It was filled with couscous, vegetable And the steak beef. It comes with a side of chips and salsa. Totally recommend this place for anyone esp if you are trying to eat a little bit healthier but want to eat out at the same time.

Parking was a breeze. The menu was on the wall right before where you order at the counter, but I already knew what I wanted. You see, being a Unilocal addict does have its merit. Those reviews come in handy. Plus, I even got a free drink because I checked in! We were then given a number, which we took to the table. Before long, my Shwarma Wrap was delivered. First impression, it is big. I could hardly wrap my mouth around it, but it was worth every effort because it was so freakin’ delicious! It has just the right amount of meat with lettuce and avocado wrapped in whole grain wrap. It’s like an adult-sized Burrito but with Middle Eastern twist. The couscous served as sides tastes very much like biryani, so this whole dish is like Mexican meets Middle Eastern meets Indian. I felt like I have traveled the world in one seating. One thing to note though, the garlic is potent in this wrap, so if you’re on a date or have to meet with customers later, keep mint or gum handy. I also tried the Mediterranean Steak Burrito. This time, they stuffed the couscous in the wrap together with the steak. Honestly, I prefer my couscous as sides because it felt like so much going on in one bite. Not that it’s not delicious. I like it because it’s unique. It is refreshing. I also really like the garbanzo chips with mango salsa that are served as sides. Simply delicious, and probably healthier too! In a nutshell, I like this place. I like the location. I like the hippie who took my order. I like the concept and the food. I am excited to try the rest of the menu. I saw a lot of in-shape patrons wearing gym t-shirts eating here(not that I was looking) so these menu are probably gym-approved healthy too. All the more reason to return.

The lamb pita is fantastic, and I really enjoy the Couscous chicken carbonara as well. Couscous combines a fine dining taste with fast food speeds, making it a perfect option for lunch meetings in the Murray area. The portions and prices are fair, and I haven’t tried anything that I didn’t like yet. A lot of it isn’t the standard Mediterranean cuisine that comes to mind, but it is all tasty. The namesake couscous is of course one of the main selling points. I’d say that it is one of the more unique restaurants in the area. I enjoy the casual feel of the restaurant and the atmosphere and décor. Plus, it’s always crowded during lunch so you know it’s good!

I told my husband I wanted to try something new so we ended up here. I had expected more of a restaurant feel. What I got was still nice. You walk in and on the wall is their menu which all sounded good. When you’re ready to place your order you just walk up to the register and place it. They do bring the food out to you. The food was great, like really great. I ordered a chicken mushroom Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce I could probably say was the best I’ve had. Not obnoxiously thick but not watery. The chicken and mushrooms were perfect and over all the whole thing was busting with flavors. My husband got a wrap which I thought was odd for him but when it came out I wanted to steal it. Meat was seasoned great all the veggies were nice and fresh. Over all a really nice wrap and a great dinning experience.

Yup, a shawarma wrap, once again. Delicious. But be warned, the garlic levels in the sauce are pretty dang high on this puppy. Learned a new trick this time: poor some of that mango salsa on the wrap and you’ve got yourself another layuh of flavuh.

So sad I have eaten at this place for many years, even when it was Bajio and have not reviewed it a single time. Not sure how I first found out about this place, probably some time in 2011 when we saw the signs come up. Love the owner he is so cool and so down to earth and funny. He has a knack for making great tasting soups. Loved the lamb variations the best, also the lemon kale soup, the chicken artichoke, the ginger curry, chicken curry, the vegetarian, cream of spinach, cream of mushroom, roasted tomato and corn bisque. What more can I say about the great soups that accompany any dish there. I have never been disappointed about anything there except that sometimes we can’t find a place to sit and have to take it to go. Can’t wait to come back and indulge in awesomeness.

Went to Couscous for lunch for the first time today. I ordered the Shwarma wrap that was served with a side of couscous. The wrap was pretty darn fantastic. A generous amount of shawarma meat(I realize the restaurant spells it Shwarma) with tomato, romaine lettuce, avocado, grilled and caramelized onions and a wonderfully garlicky tahini sauce wrapped in a whole grain tortilla. I asked what the shawarma meat was made of here and I was told it was just lamb. However, I think it may have contained other meats mixed in as you would typically expect. Regardless, it was tender, moist and flavorful. The combination with the fresh veggies and the garlic tahini sauce was just right. Good mix of tender and firm textures. The sauce was pretty garlicky and it really took front stage. Mind you, I love garlic so I didn’t mind, but if you are sensitive to having too much garlic, you may want to ask for a lighter portion of the sauce. The couscous on the side was also very good. Not especially intense from a flavor standpoint but that’s okay as it was a good interruption of the garlic attack from my wrap. It contained some dried cranberries which added a nice sweet compliment. It was served at a perfect temperature and was moist. I went there with my Mom and she ordered the pesto Salmon sandwich served on grilled ciabatta bread. I didn’t try any but she really enjoyed it. I did sneak some of her side of garbanzo chips with mango salsa. The chips tasted like corn chips but that’s okay because they were good, fresh and crunchy and were a perfect platform for the sweet mango salsa. The restaurant was pretty full at lunchtime on a Tuesday. You order at the counter, take a number to your table, and your food follows shortly. Service was very good. We had no problem grabbing a table after standing in line to order as it looks like tables turn pretty quickly. The only source of disappointment for me was the fact they don’t make falafel. I love falafel(if done right) and I kind of expected it at a Mediterranean restaurant. But hey, this is a nit and the reality is that if you look at the menu, there are many menu items you wouldn’t see at a traditional Mediterranean place. I’d say it is somewhat of a Mediterranean fusion style restaurant. In any event, I really liked this place and certainly will be back to try some of the other dishes that caught my eye on the menu.
