Second time my husband and I tried this restaurant. Disappointed again. We can’t quite figure out the higher reviews & how busy it is. Here’s why we rated it 2: Staff: fine Cleanliness: very grimy. Floors, walls in restaurant and bathroom pretty bad. Food: less than spectacular. The fried chicken was one of the only things that even raised the rating to a 2. Everything else, from the instant potatoes to the lack luster dessert was very tasteless. Barbecue, was separate meat that you add barbecue sauce from a bottle. Not what I would consider true southern barbecue. Price: it was around 10. each not including drink. No price breaks for seniors. We won’t be back.

Best lunch buffet for the price. Juicy fried chicken and pork chops. Husband had fried flounder and gizzards. Everything was great. Great place to stop in and relax. Pace yourself there is a lot of good southern food.

This place is the real deal. We hustled down here from Myrtle Beach to beat the 2:00PM closing time and it was well worth it. Service is typical barbecue buffet and it’s a full buffet. Highlights are the collard greens, fried chicken, pulled pork(use the traditional sauce), sweet potatoes and, OMG the hush puppies are unbelievable. Many of the reviews rave about the mac & cheese. I found them to be OK but not a rave. You know what, thinking about it, let me go back to those sweet potatoes. They may be the best damn sweet potatoes I’ve ever eaten in my life. Service is five star from the time you walk into the time you leave. Staff is friendly accommodating and always smiling — just what we imagine when you think about southern hospitality. It’s time to go up and try the desserts now. Maybe I’ll write more later.

We missed an opportunity to come here last year when we visited, but finally had a chance this year, and came twice the food was so good! It’s not a fancy place by any means, so come casual. If you want home cooked taste, Prosser’s is the place!

Probably the best meal so far while in myrtle beach. Well worth the drive. I’m hoping to make it there for breakfast before I go. Their lunch buffet was awesome. These and cheese, fried flounder, hush puppies and pulled pork were outstanding. Everything was mouth watering and at a great price. Great service from my waitress too.

OMG! Paula Deen can’t shake a stick to this place! The staff seem to know the regulars by name and know their families too! Even though we’re not from here, we felt welcomed.

This is one of the places we must eat every year on vacation and sometimes twice! Good authentic home cooking. Never had a bad experience.

Lunch Review: I rarely give out 5-stars but the food in this place deserves it. We came here for lunch and every single item was fabulous!!! It is a true Southern buffet, I wouldn’t dare call it a «BBQ Joint». Instead of a buffet covered in standard BBQ fare like ribs, brisket, and baked potatoes; the selection is true Southern fried this and that, greens, rice and bean options, great desserts, and more. I am pleased to say that the actual selection is rather small for a buffet, but I’d much prefer a small set of choices that are all rather excellent than an endless choice of mediocre food where I waste my time walking in circles trying to decide what might actually be worth it. All in all, it deserves to be highly recommended.

Awesome food and I typically hate these types of places. Yes it’s fried but it’s all home cooked and the place is affordable and clean with quality food. We were taken here by my uncle who lives in the area. It’s pretty busy and I know why! Hidden gem :) kinds loved it too. Staff could not have been more friendly and for the most part it is clean. Only thing that could use some updating is the restrooms.

Great buffet for southern food. BBQ was excellent, just needed sweet sauce as an option. Pineapple cobbler, Mac & Cheese, Turnip a Greens were top shelf quality. Catfish, Tilapia, Chicken & Dumplings where all very very good as well. Glad I came here instead of those 100 item buffets on hwy 17. The staff was genuinely nice. It seemed like they love interacting with the people that eat there. Definitely coming back now that I know it’s here.

Plain and simple southern country cooking, with seafood selections. This is by far one of my favorite belt loosing restaurants. It’s a place I come to when I want to get my «fix» on… everything on the buffet is fresh and delicious. You cannot go wrong by choosing this absolutely gem of a country buffet… however if your pants don’t fit leaving… do not blame me !!!

Wow! Everything you can think of for southern cooking! Fried chicken was so moist and tender. Pulled pork was just what you’re looking for. tons of options, friendly staff, and for 9 bucks for the buffet you never get tired of going back because there’s soooo much variety! I highly recommend prossers. Being from massachsetts we can’t find anything like this place. I’m glad I got to stop here in my travels and will most definitely be back!

This place is a must-have each time my wife and I come to Myrtle Beach. The staff is always friendly and the food is great. If you are a fan of Eastern Carolina style BBQ — you have to eat here. It is a buffet, however the food is all very fresh. If you like southern home cooking, this is the place for you. I really like the fried flounder and veggie choices also.

If you’re a fan of barbecue I suggest you visit this establishment. There is plenty of good food there to eat with hush puppies BBQ all the requisite food that has to do with Southern BBQ cuisine. Also if you would rather just go on the other side of the buffet line you can get sea food and al the cuisine including pinto beans macaroni and cheese cornbread all the things that you love, and if you love soul food, they serve good! So if you decide that you want to go on have a good barbecue you can go and be rest assured that you will have great BBQ… it is really good, moist, tender and they have a couple sauces too… and believe me do not eat the day before you go because it is very very filling… so enjoy it go to this restaurant have a good time eat lots of BBQ and tell them Ivy leaf film productions sent you. Bön appétit! That means you get hog, in southern terms.

Lots of food for the price. We were here for lunch today around 12:30, and it was busy as expected. Paid $ 9 a person, which is just fine. We tried most of the items available on the buffet, and things seemed to be pretty hit or miss. Good: BBQ(vinegar based and yummy), sweet potatoes, biscuits, collard greens Blah: mashed potatoes(instant?), Mac and cheese, chicken and dumplings, fried chicken(dry) Nothing we had was bad, but a lot of the items taste canned/instant. Growing up in a family of great southern cooks may have spoiled me! At least give their greens and BBQ a try– they were the highlight of the meal.

The wife and I went there for lunch today for the first time. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. We had the buffet and found that it was huge! With almost any kind of meat or vegetable that you could want and it all tasted so good. I would highly recommend to anyone to try there for lunch or even dinner. The lunch buffet was priced at only nine dollars which included beverage.

Prossers gets 5 stars from our family based solely on its southern-fried, home-cooking menu. If you’re looking for something healthy, this ain’t it so don’t say you weren’t forewarned ahead of time and give them a low rating. It is what it is. We eat here once a year and pretty much everything is good — homemade Mac and cheese, collards, sweet potato casserole, crispy fried chicken(that looks like it must be hand cut), calabash style seafood, banana pudding, and a lot more I’m forgetting. Best of all, a drink comes with the buffet which is almost unheard of. I’m glad we don’t live here because I’m not sure my waistline could handle eating like this on a regular basis, but it sure is good.

Excellent barbecue buffet. Fried chicken is about the best I ever had. Pulled pork was delicious — I did get an extra portion of the sauce, as the server told me the pulled pork was lightly seasoned. I do have a very sensitive stomach and that extra barbecue sauce I could have done without. Mac and cheese, was a bit bland for me, I prefer mine with extra sharp cheddar cheese. Hush puppies were yummy. Chicken bog was a bit mild, but good. That was about all I could fit on my plate and in my stomach. The cashier was polite and efficient. I don’t generally go to buffets, but to have a server scoop my food for me was annoying. Does he think I’m going to steal it? Especially when I already paid? I felt very, very uncomfortable, as I can clearly serve myself and not have to wait ten minutes for him to show, and then back the line up. I don’t like the feeling of asking permission for this or that, I’m just too dang old. With that one complaint, the food is plentiful and the price is right $ 12.00 for a take home platter. Lots of parking and convenient to get to.
