Carnitas Express

Been here 4 or 5 times, for breakfast and lunch. Food is very good and service is usually spot on. Last time we went, however, we waited at least 45 minutes for our meals. It happens sometimes, and, we will most likely be returning.

Everything was pretty bad. Food was overly salted. They forgot our order. The building is dirty. Honestly, I don’t have anything positive to say about this restaurant. The tables were not even clean and they were wet. Our waters tasted strange and it seemed as if they had chlorine in them. I would NOT come back here.

Me and my family came here on a Sunday morning. We got chilaquiles, carne asana burrito, crunchy chicken taco and huevos rancheros. We placed a phone order and waited less than five minutes after arriving and paying for our food. When we got home, they forgot the tortillas for the huevos rancheros. This was not the first time they messed up one of our orders. But part of the problem is we don’t fully check the orders before we leave. So that is something we would have to do now instead of giving 100% trust when we order to go. The food itself is always delicious and that’s why we keep coming back. We have dined in before and the service has never given us any issues. We will continue to eat here because the food is top notch and wide variety of Mexican dishes

We got there at 8:15 and they closed at 9. They didn’t bug us once even though we stayed past restaurant hours.
Great food and great customer service. My only downside is their salsa that comes with the free chips was not my favorite. To me, that is one of the most important things for any Mexican restaurant.

I really liked our server and she did a great job but the food was not so great. I won’t bore anyone with a lot of details but it was just mediocre and didn’t taste fresh.
Also, if they offer to give you the booth closest to the restrooms, wait for something else. The smell was not great back there and we should have asked to be moved.

Came in for dinner was greeted at the front and sat promptly. Our server was Marisela and she did a great job she offered us appetizers and brought extra plates with it. She also answered all our questions as this was our first time we had a few.
The cheese fries and spinach dip are by far the best Ive had. The hard shell tacos are good also she informed us that they are on special on Tuesdays.
The place is cute and cleaned they have a big patio area for your dogs or kids to run around. Full bar and 4 TV’s.

I like their prices and the food is always good. They have a salsa bar with a good selection. They have a good family atmosphere and service is excellent. This is the best Mexican restaurant in Murrieta where you don’t have to break the bank.

Love the Menifee location. This Murrieta location is not the same at all! When we go to the Menifee location we always get the fajitas. They are awesome. We tried it at the Murrieta one and we’re VERY disappointed. The service isn’t very good either. Save yourself the trouble and drive to Menifee.

Have always enjoyed eating here. The staff is kind, fast and attentive. Food is very good! I had the French Toast and it was delicious. Always a good choice!

USED TO GO ALL THE TIME BUT NOT ANYMORE. MICROWAVED FOOD AND TERRIBLE SERVICE. DON’T GET SICK EATING HERE.
I used to go here all the time when they first opened… the food was good and the prices were great for the portions they were putting on the plate… however, over time I noticed a few things happening. First off, it seemed that I could never get a good waiter/​waitress because everyone was always NEW… meaning no one stayed around in this job environment longer than a week or so… then the food happened. The food slowly started tasting older and older the more I came back. That’s when it happened.
I went in a couple of weeks ago with my kids and pregnant wife to get the Matador (great carne for the price) but something was off. It was stone cold. the entire burrito felt as if it came out of the fridge WHOLE and someone forgot to reheat it because it came out in UNDER 4 minutes after ordering. I sliced it in half to feed half to my pregnant wife but it was stone cold all the way through… but the meat was cooked? I’m not talking chilled… I’m talking COLD. CHILLED.
So, I asked the waitress about it and she decided to tell me that the lettuce was the reason the insides were stone cold… and the cheese was unmelted… and still almost icy on the meat but still dark grey from being cooked from before… So, I decided to give it another go but I should have left. The MANAGER then came over and started the same explanation, so I explained to her that is not possible.
THEN she said it. She started telling me that since I already cut into my burrito I couldn’t send it back! I cut her off and just said plainly, «NOPE…». She stared at me and said she would get me a «fresh one».
She sent back the same one microwaved and rewrapped in a new tortilla… rediculous.
NOT WORTH THE MONEY. DON’T GET SICK EATING HERE.

I love their cheese enchiladas and beans. Their carne Asada is great too! They season it very well. I have tried their house margarita and watermelon margaritas and they were both good! Service is very good too.

I come here a lot for their taco Tuesday which by far is the best. I’ve been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have always been pleased with the food and especially the service. The waitresses and bartender ALWAYS give me great service!

After passing by this place a few times, wifey and I finally tried this place for dinner this past week. I’ll cut to the chase and say that our visit was probably the worst service we’ve ever received anywhere!
It took 15 minutes to get our drinks, and I even had to go to the bar to get a water for my wife since the chips and salsa kinda made her choke up…
I ordered a torta and it was actually okay… my wife ordered a taco and enchilada combo. The taco shell was rock hard and her rice had some hard rice chunks that were just bad.
It was nice that you could get more salsa at their bar, but I guess they expect you to because the guy never refilled our salsa when he brought us a second basket of chips.
Some parts were okay, but this is definitely not a place that I would recommend for Mexican food. Try Alberto’s, El Torito, or Rodrigo’s instead.

Service was a little slow, especially for it not being really busy but overall wasn’t bad!

I love this place, clean, fast, and always consistent best chips and salsa in the valley! If you like good Mexican food this is a great place to check out!

I’ve always heard the Menifee location was better. I am learning that now. 2 trips here and again leaving dissatisfied. The food is ok, definitely nothing to rave about. From now on, I’ll drive a tad further to the other Mexican restaurants. I will not be returning. Not worth the aggravation. And the older wait staff and manager aren’t very friendly at all.
Try your chances elsewhere.

I was actually at the same dinner that Lori wrote a review about. She was in my dinner party. The food was amazing and they were actually very prompt.
My kids love eating here and the chips and salsa are the best in town. Sometimes they get busy but only because the food is so good everyone goes here!
I LOVE CARNITAS EXPRESS.

We had a very enjoyable meal, seems like anew waitress she didn’t offer a chip refill but I helped myself to the salsa bar, was good stuff! Iced tea didn’t taste good so I traded for a sprite. My beef Torta was so tasty, saucy California burrito good and potato skins were tasty with big bacon bitswill go back again.

Carnitas express is a good Mexican food restaurant, you get good portions and reasonably priced! If you go for taco Tuesday their shredded beef tacos are Bomb!!! The restaurant on Madison is good since they have a bar their. If you like spicy, «shrimp a la Diabla» is delicious. Their breakfast is good too!

Very good and satisfying food. They offer a huge menu with a big range of choices. There are 3 of these carnita restaurants I believe.
But, a big f.y.i. these restaurants and the Brandon’s Diner restaurants are pretty much the same. Same owner. there’s a lot of similarities. I felt like I was at Brandon’s Diner but with a nicer décor all around. The restroom alone was very nice looking.
The waitress was very polite. It was four of us and we all ate and had a great time and meal. The salsa and chips if delicious and can be a tad spicy. Me and my family always go over board on the chips and salsa before are food comes out. I don’t know what to say, it’s addictive and hard to stop. Lol. They also have a walk up salsa bar with containers and lids. And the bar looks very nice to sit and have a drink.
