Been here for 4 years and there is no other fast food Mexican place that makes everything fresh daily. Pretty much everything on the menu is great, not everyone is going to agree but definitely one of the best fast food Mexican taco shops.

Definitely not the best taco shop in Murrieta. The chips in the super nachos were stale, and the carne asada was SUPER fatty. Also, the tortilla used for my burrito seemed stale too. The only part I liked was the spicy red salsa :-/

They have the best carne asada fries around, they give you a good amount of everything. There burritos are really good too. My kids favorite place to eat.

I’m very particular about my carne asada fries. Los jilbertos reminds me again that they have the best carne asada fries. Although Santana’s fries comes in very close depending on my mood. But los jilbertos definitely has better fries than anywhere in SD. I stand by that statement. The meat to fries ratio is even. You’re never going to have a bunch of fries leftover with no meat. Every bite will have carne asada. Fries are always crispy and not soggy. Although prices have gone up, it is definitely worth it. In comparison to Murrieta Alberto’s, you pay almost $ 13 for carne asada fries with extra meat and there’s actually still not enough meat. At Los jilbertos it’s about $ 9.50 plus tax without saying extra carne asada. The portions will for sure overwhelm you.

My husband has been a loyal customer here for a while he favors their carne asada fries . I plead with him not to eat there the premises is dirty grubby sticky tables . The cashier(female) doing her best to win first prize for rudeness honey you win hands down Irony for him my husband that is he went there with his friend Sunday evening and hey guess what lovely case of food poisoning for them both stomach cramps followed by excessive diarrhea etc etc laid up all the next day . Rang the store to let them know of course manager not available for comment but the cashier from hell informed me on his behalf that no couldn’t have been from them don’t bother us about it she said take your husband to urgent care(her words) . Nice friendly family Mexican restaurant just wanted to let you guys know that they are either leaving food out to long or not warming it properly also old meat it’s chewier than rubber . Just be warned don’t expect your loyalty to them to be returned take your money poison you and tell you not to bother them very disappointing.

breakfast burritos are the only thing worth getting from here anymore now that they have raised all the prices on the menu. Used to come here often because it was always cheaper than surrounding taco shops but now it’s no use. Rolled tacos are very good here as well as a lot of other food. But overall I used to love this place and now there is 4 – 5 other taco shops/Mexican restaurants I’d prefer.

Great food, but customer service sucks. The girl always there at the cashier has too much attitude

I go for the nostalgic taste from when I worked down the street and had this for breakfast or lunch often ;) My fave is the sausage, potato, cheese, egg breakfast burrito The hubs gets carne asada fries and they are delicious, but hit or miss with raw fries in the bunch We’ll still be back if we’re craving it though

A Mexican restaurant that doesn’t fry their own taco shells? I can’t even eat this crap.

I give this place only 3 stars due to the lack of cleanliness. Don’t get me wrong, the food is really good. I had the Al Pastor taco, tons of meat and flavor. Cleanliness: the tables were all filthy, only 1 table was in here, when I asked for a water the girl behind the counter whom was extremely rude poured it from the faucet in the sink… I mean at least have some filtered water here. I would say she hates her job… which sucks because her attitude got this place a low rating.

My family and I always eat here at least once a week. Always loved the food but tonight we went and ordered out usual carne asda fries. We got home to eat and the fries were crunchy and greasy like the were refried again and used. When I called the girl had an attitude and told me it was because I let them sit before I ate them. I had fries that sat awhile and they are not crunchy they are soggy. She told me to bring the food back and they will make me more. I am not going to drive back down the hill from to go get another set but for me to bring the used food with me. I can’t believe they charge $ 9.00 for used food. I think the girls attitude towards the situation just cost them a loyal customer. She was horrible!

This place has gone so down hill. They have no clue as to what customer service is at all. I called in to place an order and was put on hold. I listened to many other people place their orders. Drove all the way here and their phone was on the counter. I said«you may want to pick that up». I then said«hi». Idiots.

Coming from Denver where you can’t find standup authentic Mexican food, this little inland empire gem was a treat! I knew when I saw the paper plates and plastic ware that we were in for some real deal goodness. Good true Mexican food, priced properly and the service was just fine(contrary to previous reviews). It’s a hole in the wall with a girl at the register and a couple cooks… you’re not going to get your chair pulled out for you if that’s what you’re looking for. Do yourself a favor and order the Chile Verde Plate. Wife’s carnitas burrito was money too. Yum yum yum

Keep it short and simple. There was nothing special about this shop. It was completely empty, there was no crowd(maybe a bad time of the day, but it was 1pm). Anyway, they only accept card over 20 dollars, which is repulsive in itself. So I had to take out 21.50(plus the fee) and pay for a 6 dollar burrito. As for the food itself, I guess the meat was alright, burrito was fair, I suppose. I would probably give the food a 6.4÷10. But it was a nice place, it was clean, nothing opposing me from returning shop wise, but food wise, I would prefer another place.

When moving to Murrieta from San Diego I cried out, worried that my habitual taco shop fix would be in jeopardy, but Los Jilbertos answered my call! In terms of flavors from many of the items offered, it is definitely on par with some of my favorite haunts I frequented growing up. My usual buys are the fish tacos, California burrito, or breakfast burrito(no meat) and I can’t recall ever being disappointed. In terms of price for quantity, it is definitely one of the top places in the Murrieta area; not as great as popular places south of us, but definitely better than LalaLand(L.A.). I’ve been to the sister location off of Clinton Keith, as well, but stopped going there and I continue to return to this location. Over in Wildomar, the food tastes just as good, but the service is terrible. The Murrieta Los Jilbertos customer service is always pleasant. One girl in particular likes to chitchat, but never lets it effect her work. And between the employees, they’re always accommodating to any special orders I make, never making me feel like they’re squeezing pennies from me. One let down was they changed their policy to no debit/credit cards accepted for orders under $ 20. At first, I was dismayed at the idea of having to pay $ 1.50 to use their ATM, but the girl at the register worked with me and and my order and I was able to use the cash I did have. Afterwards, biting into my delicious California burrito, I’ve decided to comply and simply come prepared next time!

I really used to like this place. But the cashiers are always so condescending, and today this place was a complete mess. Granted it was 1pm, but I had to step over food and trash on the ground, and wipe and clear our own table. Flies like crazy inside. But they pack in the people so I guess it’s all good. I was giving the place another chance after a friend got very sick eating here, but I’ll just go to another shop. Not worth the high prices and mess. Oh yeah, the food. Had the Nak burrito(carne asada, fries, cheese, pico, beans, guac). Overall okay, but for $ 7 shouldn’t be getting lots of grisel and inedible chunks of beef. Again, better options out there folks.

This is one of my favorite places to get carne asada fries in Murrieta. I like that the fries are thin, and they give a generous amount of meat. Today, I ordered combo #7, two fish tacos with a side of rice, no beans. I appreciate that they doubled the rice instead of not replacing the beans at all. However, I do not appreciate the fact that my fish tacos fell apart as soon as I picked them up. Eating the tacos with a knife and fork wasn’t fun. I also love that they offer pico de gallo as a self serve condiment, which is something I don’t see at other Mexican restaurants I’ve been to(they usually only offer salsa). 4 stars because it’s not the cleanest place, my fish tacos fell apart, but I’m a fan of their carne asada fries, awesome salsa & pico de gallo

Thumbs up for the food! But thumbs down for customer service! I don’t know the cashiers name(if the manager would like to know who I’m talking about it was the girl working on Janu 7, 2015 at night) she was rude and didn’t even smile. She didn’t want to answer our questions and she seemed annoyed at us for some reason.
